    Thoughts on this team?

    Lloris
    Robertson Laporte Duffy
    Hazard Son Eriksen Camarasa
    Aguero Jimenez Firmino
    Foster Doherty JWP Valery

Will do Camarasa to Doucoure/Deulofeu in DGW35

Bennett I would avoid. Saiss could eat into his minutes, Would rather Vert over Laporte for 34 / 35, but that's just me

Went as far back as GW20 looking for reasons why Duffy emerging as C option. 3 CS 2 goals and only 1 bap for goal in 2-2 vs Wham. 3 baps in Hudd 1-0 none in the other 2 CS.

He's a great option this week. I think you should look more at the opposition they are facing

          1. JohnnyMagrinho
              7 years, 15 days ago

              I think he's a half-decent option.

              Far from a foregone conclusion.

The Cardiff game will be far from a given. I fancy Cardiff to score in that game simply because of the relegation fight they're facing. Brighton have kept just SIX clean sheets all season.

I don't know why all of a sudden people are thinking because they have - on paper - half-decent games, they're going to just keep clean sheets and Duffy will score.

Brighton aren't that good. They're struggling and have been all season. They're far from a solid team defensively. There's reasonable evidence to suggest Brighton will concede in both games and that Duffy won't score.

It's a bit far-fetched to say he's a brilliant pick and a great choice for captaincy. Two games doesn't automatically mean more points. I'm baffled as to why people think this is an absolute given.

Very much Sarcasm, what you said has no relevance to now.

                  - Brighton conceded 1 goal to city away.
                  - In the last 6 games Ryan averages 1 save every 49 minutes (one of the lowest in the league) indicating that they are doing a good job defensively
                  - Bournemouth were shocking and I mean AWFUL against Burnley - they were made to look like a championship side, they are already on the beach and have nothing to play for.
                  - Duffy has massive goal threat

I don't see why you dislike Brighton so much, looking at their past results from last year (like you did with Fulham) is pointless.

          Thanks, it does seem logic.
But on the other hand, maybe Moura is less likely to get rotated this week. Plus it's hard to expect that Tielemans will continue like this week after week, while Pogba still can get his good form back.

Nope, spreading the money over the squad to have a best possible team of nailed double game week players (plus Liverpool), not going for the big City assets because they simply have too many games, not great fixtures and are dropping like flies to injury

I have Aguero and Firmino in my draft so I sacrificed Mane and Sterling. I also have Hazard, Son and Eriksen and I think Hazard is a great differential for the dgw.

I did have Sterling but I honestly think he won't score big as he never does in the dgw

Well, with some hesitancy, i've made the move, just think Poch will have no option but to use Son for these games, and Haz against Pool and Utd doesn't fill me with confidence personally.

Plus have to take some sort of gamble to extend my lead as closest rival has WC.

Music to my ears in agreement haha. Initially i regretted the transfer, but i’m just not confident in hazard against pool and Utd, can’t see much for him there.
Burnley can also defend, and Chelsea still aren’t all that, West Ham had many chances, and they’re depleted. Burnley fighting as well.

Is there really though? Vardy is probably the best choice but doesn't have a dgw.
Lacazette might be rotated and Arsenal are poor away.
          Deeney could be rotated.
          Murray is Murray.
Jimenez and Aguero are my two first choices.

Son can play with Llorente too, Son jus need someone to hold the ball

Lucas on the other hand is a nightmare

      4. JohnnyMagrinho
          7 years, 15 days ago

          Wrong.

Son has played 4 times this season without Kane. In that period he's played in a more advanced position and has:

          Scored 4
          Assisted 1
          Clean Sheets 1
          = 40 points (27% of his points).

I'm not sure where you're getting your information from.

This isn't to say he's just automatically going to be a great pick solely because Kane isn't playing, but we can infer from those statistics that he's more than capable of amassing goals and points without Kane.

Since Kane has returned and played alongside Son, his returns have diminished.
Over the next 5 GWs (including one DGW) after Kane's return, Son only managed 1 goal during that entire period, for a points return of 18.

That's a huge drop off. I don't know why you're suggesting these stats are meaningless.

GTG here? Already took a -4 to bring Kane in... he's currently on 50%

        Schmeichel - (Foster)
VVD - Pereira - Duffy - (Wan Bas - Lascelles)
        Salah(v) - Mane - Haz - Westwood - (Fraser)
        Kane(c) - Jim - Rondon

Fraser would come in for Kane if he's 100% out for Hudders. Salah(c) might be silly but dunno who else I'd put it on..

        Cheers.

Not sold on Aguero tbh. Not sure if he's worth another -4 for this week. He's just back from injury too and his schedule is crazy.

As a sterling owner I don't think so

          80% chance Sane - Aguero - Mahrez
          15% chance Sane - Jesus - Mahrez
          5% chance Sane - Aguero - Sterling

Anyone feel like Son gets into second gear everytime Kane isn't there? Maybe its a pressure thing? Like, the pressure of having to be Spurs' lord and savior actually improves Son's play?

Thats my worry. If Kane's injury is long tern, I will be getting him in for the long-term. Will be a great asset, even if he doesnt start vs HUD.
Too risky to captain, though. Might go for the Vardy Party second time running.

Saw Son rise and I thought I was gonna be priced out... but then I saw Kun drop and I can breathe again

It's ironic I cashed in on Hazard 11m(bought 10.9) to get Kane before rise a few days ago and sold today before rise because injured

maybe better to wait.. just in case.. lol..

Kane -Kun.. makes it easy now, for me to ditch Mane-Salah now on a WC..

This is interesting. It seems once you hit the threshold there is no turning back even if people suddenly start to buy/sell you in the opposite direction. Like Aguero and Kane .

It shouldn't matter whether or not he passes the threshold during the day - what matters is whether he's above or below the threshold at price change time.

Presumably there were a lot of casuals not on wildcards who bought Kane earlier in the day, and maybe also some who haven't activated their wildcards yet but were anticipating the possible price rise.

In the case of Aguero, many casuals may have just seen that he was flagged and didn't think of waiting for the evening's matches before transferring him out - and the later transfers back may have been made by others, possibly on wildcards, following Kane's injury.

That extra .1 for Son won’t help much on the bench against Hudds 😉

seeing the Kane injury yesterday, I went straight to FPL and sold him and got Son in on my WC. saved 0.1

Ok, I know there’s an obvious transfer related answer but really - how did Kane rise? Enough people yesterday used a (non wildcard!) transfer to push him over the threshold?

            Yes.

Not sure why you would make the transfer pre-match, but casuals gonna casual I guess.
