FPL Question Time – Consult our panel after Kane injury

The Fantasy Premier League community is now full of questions concerning one man: Harry Kane (£12.5m).

The Tottenham forward was taken off with a serious-looking injury in Tuesday night’s Champions League win over Manchester City.

He had become the staple of many a Wildcard draft in recent days, but is now unlikely to play in Double Gameweek 34.

That has left Fantasy managers wondering what to do with the spare cash.

Thankfully, we’ve assembled another panel for you to consult in Question Time.

Who’s on the panel this week?

Simon March – Fantasy Premier League champion in 2014/15 and regular guest on the FPL Show.

Ben McNair – One of Australia’s finest Fantasy minds, with four finishes inside the top 5k.

Holly Shand – Founder of Fantasy Football Community and regular guest on the FPL Show.

Sounds like it'll be weeks before Kane plays again, so get rid now (although wait for presses on Friday)

Wait IMO. Make a transfer on Friday once you have all the team news.

Kane to Laca / Auba, Aguero etc are all possibilities

WC draft after CL of tuesday:

    ryan - foster
    robbo - vvd - laporte - duffy - doherty
    salah - POGBA/SON- sterling - DEULOFEU/DOUCOURE'- Højbjerg
    jimenez - vardy - deeney

    1) GW34 --> WC
    2) GW35 --> BB

    doubts:
    1) no kun because "pep rotation", i'm not sure on sterling (best midfielder of city, but single game in DGW?)
    2) deulofeu/doucourè
    3) pogba or son?

    any suggestion?

    About Lloris + Foster
Let's face it. If you have Lloris as your No.1, you will play him every week. Foster's main (only) appeal is a very good BB 35 (including hud). For that I am a little uncomfortable with £4.6 on the bench till the end.
Gunn (£4.3) on the other hand has moderate BB 35 appeal to complement Lloris. Come 38 he (HUD) can even start ahead of Lloris (EVE).
    Thoughts?

Yeah, it's a very good point. More than an acceptable alternative, as like you say, you'll be staring Lloris most weeks anyway.

Yeah I haven't done a lot of research into the Watford defense situation. My impression is that Foster is the only one worth getting. That makes this more complicated.

Hi all, couple of quick questions

    1) Deeney or Deulefou? who is more nailed on? is 180mins of deeney better then say 120mins of deulefou?
    2) Dunk or Murray as the 3rd brighton player (apart from Ryan/Duffy)?
    3) View on arsenal forwards? worth getting one of them
    4A) Sterling + Kun...with a view to do Sterling > Salah in gw36
    4B) Sterling + Auba/Laca...with a view to do Sterling > Salah in gw36
    4C) Salah + Kun....(avoids doing sterling > salah in gw36)

Feel a bit stuck post Kane injury as was settled on my WC side - have made the obvious Kane-Aguero move but not sure what else to do now - have £4.1m in the bank.

    Lloris (Foster)
    TAA-Laporte-Duffy (Doherty-Valery)
    Mane-Eriksen-Knockaert-Camasara (Fraser)
    Aguero-Lacazette-Jiminez

Pre-Kane the plan was knockaert to watford mid in GW35

    Thinking maybe:
    a) TAA & Fraser to VVD & Son (leaves 0.5m for knock to deulo in 35)
    b) No change and Knockaert to Son in GW35
    c) Mane to Salah? (knock to watford 35)
    d) Fraser to Son (although kinda wanted some bournemouth for the run in)
    d) Other?

Huge fan of Salah and have a feeling he’ll end the season well, but with no double GWs I really can’t justify the extra 3.1m outlay over Mane, particularly with a TV of only 103m. Same issue with Robbo and TAA where I’ve also went with the cheaper man. And almost the same consideration for Duffy/Dunk. I’ve effectively went for the cheap option for all 3 which in the grand scheme is a better option for overall squad strength.

Squad is now as follows - effectively chosen from 7 teams and means 13 doublers in GW35.

    Man City: Laporte, Sterling, Aguero
    Liverpool: TAA, Mane
    Spurs: Eriksen, Son
    Wolves: Doherty, Jimenez
    Watford: Foster, Deeney
    Southampton: Valery, JWP
    Brighton: Ryan, Dunk

This any good for WC. 100 points to catch :/

    Foster Ryan
    Duffy Laporte Trippier Doherty Valery

    Lukaku Firmino Murray

    Murray > Deeney next GW.

Heavy differential team, but guess your chasing 100 points. Moura would be a no from me, would rather Rashford than Lukaku and use extra funds elsewhere too.

WC for BB next week, draft so far:

    Ryan/Foster
    Laporte/Alderweireld/Duffy/Doherty/Robbo
    Son/Eriksen/Mane/Jota/JWP
    Vardy/Deeney/Jimi

    Vardy for Laca next week.

Any thoughts? Worth trying to get Moura (by downgrading Doherty to Valery and upgrading Jota)

Aguero was often taken off around the 60-70 minute mark even when he was fit.

Likely subbed to keep somewhat fresh for the next game, where he will also likely get 60-70 mins?

Jesus didn't particularly flatter when he came on last night (although to be fair, most of the Man City team didn't).

Back down without Kane it seems. Should still be a comfortable win.

      Using those Brighton CS percentages:

      Chances of 2 CS = 14.4%
      Chances of 1 CS = 48.2%
      Chances of 0 CS = 37.4%

So in terms of comparing against other sides, in effect what we are saying is that there is a 62.6% chance Brighton will get AT LEAST 1 clean sheet this week. that has made my mind up, I'm going triple brighton defence

Pretty please can we get this for GW35 given that's what we're planning for? Know it would be quite indicative...

Id like to second this please. Is there any chance we could get the GW35 figures before the GW34 deadline?

    Hojberg vs JWP vs Redmond

Who should we get if funds not a problem in WC?

JWP probably the best bet given set pieces. Redmond does get involved every now and then, and starts more advanced.

However you can't go too wrong with Hojberg - he has fired off a fair few shots lately. (Although probably not as accurate?)

I have Hojberg as budge lt elsewhere restricts the option. I also don't feel as bad benching him.

Difficult benching choice each week. Any other GK?

Triple Bri defence is a bit beyond the pale for me, other than that it's decent.
