We are set for another wide open captaincy debate for Double Gameweek 35 of Fantasy Premier League.

There are a number of teams with two fixtures, but very few of those are particularly appealing – so it’s possible that Fantasy managers may have to turn to single Gameweek options.

You can now vote in our latest poll embedded below or in the sidebar.

Manchester City have arguably two of the hardest meetings of the season in their attempt to retain the Premier League title.

First, they host Spurs before travelling to face their city rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The form of Raheem Sterling (£11.5m) could see him receive some attention but his record in matches against the top-six and the fact that he remains a rotation risk may put people off.

Likewise, Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.7m) chances of starting both Double Gameweek 35 matches seem low at this stage, especially as his services will probably be required in midweek Champions League action.

For the same reason, options such as Son Heung-min (£8.8m) could be hard to captain, considering he was named on the bench in Spurs’ Double Gameweek 34 win over Huddersfield.

Manchester United are in a similar position as they must travel to Everton, who have five clean sheets in their last seven, and host in-form Manchester City.

Arguably, the team with the best set of fixtures in Double Gameweek 35 is Wolves as they host Brighton and Arsenal.

Neither of their next two opponents have been particularly strong on their travels this season, while Wolves themselves have won four of their last five at Molineux, scoring 12 goals and conceding five times in that run.

That could see Raúl Jiménez (£6.9m) or even Diogo Jota (£6.2m) trusted with the armband by those looking for a pragmatic differential option.

Watford also have some appealing fixtures with a trip to Huddersfield and a home meeting with Southampton.

However, with Troy Deeney (£5.9m) now suspended and Gerard Deulofeu‘s (£5.6m) fitness situation currently unclear, backing the Hornets may prove difficult.

Arguably, the most attractive fixture of Double Gameweek 35, is Liverpool’s trip to Cardiff.

The Bluebirds have conceded at least two in seven of their last eight league matches, while the Reds are fresh off the back of defeating Chelsea 2-0.

They may only have one fixture in Double Gameweek 35, but the case for captaining either one of Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) or Sadio Mané (£10.1m) will be strong.

My colleague's son is a boot cleaner at Brighton on Mondays, and apparently he's had to change Duffy's studs to slightly shorter, more lightweight ones to give him more pace and more spring for playing up front tonight.

Dunk, Deeney > Wilson, Yoshi (-4)?

    Gives me this on BB:

    Foster, Lloris
    Duffy, Robbo, Doherty, Yoshi, Valery
    Mane, KDB, Eriksen, Son, Jota
    Aguero (C), Wilson, Jiminez

Sadly not enough ITB to get a Liverpool defender in for Duffy after the double, without a hit to downgrade the likes of Foster.

Who is best Deeney replacement then? Surely this should be a hit topic?

    A) Gray
Pros: likely to start with Deeney out, Watford good fixtures, can be done as a straight swap so no -4.
Cons: isn’t guaranteed to start (2 of Doucoure/Success/Gray will play), isn’t very good, is of no use when Deeney back so another FT to waste.

    B) Success - as per Gray but cheaper however probably lower chance of minutes

    C) Llorente
Pros: likely to start at least 1 game with Kane out, Spurs create a lot of chances, can be done as a straight swap so no -4
Cons: isn’t guarantee to start especially vs City, isn’t very good. A number of people will already have triple spurs

    D) Ings
Pros: Saints good fixtures, can be done as a straight swap so no -4. Is a proven goal scorer so decent chance of points if plays.
Cons: isn’t guaranteed to play both games

    E) Take a -4 to get Wilson/ Rashford etc. Likely to mean a change in team structure and downgrade elsewhere (for me it makes getting Salah for 36 v difficult). However you would be getting a player you’d be happy to have in the squad until season end.

I’m leaning towards Gray but I don’t like any options. Thoughts?

Really hard one. I had money in the bank to swap to Wilson, although i bet bournemouth play shite again.

Of those choices id punt on Gray - but thats very shortterm as u wont want him after gwk 35. Maybe the hit is worth it in the long run?

      1. Fantasy Premington
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 4 months ago

I agree re Gray - don't want him after 35 and if you are close to 0 in the bank then there's v little flexibility after 5.9 to another 5.9 move, basically a completely wasted transfer just to get back to the BB team you originally wanted

I've got 0.0 itb so am trying to plan for future transfers. Long/Llorente due to price are fine to have on bench along with Valery but 5.9 is a FT used and no more money in the bank, so prevents upgrading the likes of Duffy into someone who can actually play football

really question is will Gray outscore the other guys mentioned by 4 points over the double, because it will probably mean having to take a -4 down the line

    3. JIMMY TUGGINS

          • 7 Years
          7 years, 4 months ago

Yeah, I wouldn't be getting Salah either if I do this, I'm thinking

          Deeney Eriksen Duffy/Dunk > Rashford Deulofeu/Redmond VVD

Another negative is that it still leaves me with a Brighton defender, I'd have double Liverpool defence for 36 instead of double attack.

Currently on e) downgrading a City/Spurs mid to Redmond/Deulo and upgrading the Missing Link to Firmino. Then my 3 Pool is done and dusted. I'd go Laca if there was any chance he gets decent DGW mins...

I guess I'm one of the luckier Deeney owners now, in that I can afford to jump straight back to Wilson (who I regrettably took out on WC) without taking a hit. And can still afford Vardy to Firmino in 36.

    7. F_Ivanovic
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 4 months ago

I have 3m in bank so can afford Wilson or Rashford. However, I had planned to swap Martial for Mane and either move won't let me do that anymore - meaning I'd have to take out Eriksen or Son for Mane instead.

    Double gameweek preparation:

    Ryan.
    Duffy. Doherty. TAA.
    Sterling. Son. Eriksen. Mane.
    Aguero. DEENEY. Jimenez.

    Subs: Hamer. Jota. Bednarek. Dunk.

Deeney > Andre Gray....?? And Duffy/ Ryan > Kolasinac/ Leno..??

What to do from second one..??? GK or def..??

    And what about 1st one..????

For someone who (stupidly) rage transferred Murray out for Deeney with my FT and is BB'ing, what's my best course of action?

    A. Deeney out (-4)
    B. Dunk out (-4)
    C. Both (-8)

Options limited in Deeney price category - would probably have to go for Gray/Success if I wanted a DGW'er

Recommended changes? Need to take out Deeney but unsure if I should take a hit to get rid of someone like Duffy/Siggurdson also?

    Lloris – Foster
    TAA – Laporte – Doherty – Duffy – Valery
    KDB – Son – Eriksen – Jota – Siggurdson
    Aguero – Jimenez – Deeney

Im thinking Ings and bednarak in for Deeney and Duffy - 4

Ings could be (if he stays fit) good 1st bench option until end of the season (Hud last game) helps with rotation

cash saved allows Allison to come in for 36 as gk (exact money)

Will also have a couple of transfers incase he gets injured again, will also have other playing bench.

Deeney redcard really was a punch in the balls with him being at that price.

I feel like iv had my ass handed to me ever since the xmas period. None of my choices are going the right way and others are just flying from double pogba penalties / captaining a huge rotation risk etc

    Two q’s for you lads....

A: Who is likely to take over the penaltyduty of Deeney?

B: Murray & Camarasa to Rashford & Deulofeu or Redmond?

Thanks for the answers! And, above all, go Ajax and captain Murray!!

In fairness Tadic used to give me some backhanders as well....

Oh don't even get started with Tadic. Single handedly ruined my OR.

Although credit where it's due, the addiction has paid off this season in UCL Fantasy.

    BB35&TC36 v TC35&BB36

    BB35&TC36

    1. Ryan, Duffy (Wolves, Spurs away) 2. Hojberg, Valery (Newcastle, Watford away)
    3. Salah (TC v Hudds home)

    TC35&BB36

    1. Jimenez (TC v Brighton & Arsenal home)
    2. Ryan, Duffy (Newcastle home)
    3. Hojberg, Valery (Bournemouth home)

I get the BB35 gives double games, but not as clear cut a decision as you would think given their poor away fixtures versus the promising home fixtures in 36. And Jimenez with his 2 at home in 35 could easily outscore Salah in 36.

    Thoughts?

I have the exact same bench and predicament!

I'm seeing how Valery is fitness wise and also seeing how good/bad Brighton are tonight.

I see Salah getting more than Jimenez as TC, but also see GW36 bench as better than GW35 bench.

      AAAHHH!

Flip a coin, go with your gut. Both great options. Wish I hadn't blown my TC on Salah against Fulham.
