Leicester City’s permanent capture of Youri Tielemans (£6.5m) adds to the Foxes’ attractive options in Fantasy Premier League next season.

The Belgian midfielder, signed for a reported £40m from Monaco, impressed in a brief loan spell towards the end of 2018/19 and was a successful differential pick for those FPL bosses who backed him.

The central midfielder scored three goals and registered a further five assists in just 13 starts, averaging 4.8 FPL points per game – more than any of Leicester’s other Fantasy assets apart from Jamie Vardy (£9.0m).

You can read more about Tielemans’ history in our Scout Report.

The Foxes’ opening eight fixtures are a mixed bag, with Brendan Rodgers’ side facing five of last season’s top seven in the first two months of the campaign.

There are also matches against Sheffield United, Bournemouth and Newcastle United in that time, however.

For those wishing to back a Leicester asset from the off, there is a bit of a selection headache.

Ayoze Perez‘s (£6.5m) case for inclusion was heard in a Members’ article last week but in Tielemans and James Maddison (£7.0m) we also have two FPL midfielders who provided us with decent value for money in 2018/19.

In Vardy, we also have a premium forward who scored more goals than any other Premier League player in the final ten Gameweeks of last season.

This latest article will scrutinise the numbers behind Tielemans’ appearances for Leicester so far.

    Ryan (Button)
    TAA VVD Laporte Digne (Kelly)
    Salah Sterling Fraser (Dendoncker Hayden)
    Jimenez King Jota

If Wolves do better then expected could get a head start, 😀

Decent team. I went for Siggy over Fraser but do like Fraser. I would spread the risk personally and go one of Jota or Jimenez. Please comment on my post on last page

Why are some against Deulofeu as an option? Good opening fixtures and should be nailed. Not a bad talent when he gets going either, and I don't see many better options in that price bracket or below for folks who already have King...

On the surface his 133 points last season looks good and place him as the 11th best striker. But he was classified as a midfielder. Had he been a striker he would have scored 114pts... 19pts less (9 cleansheet points and 10 extra goal points).

Another thing that turns me off is that of his 10 goals scored, 4 were against Cardiff and 3 against Huddersfield, both relegated teams.

    Happy with this for now.

    Ryan
    Alexander-Arnold, van Dijk, Laporte, Digne
    Salah, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Brooks
    King, Deulofeu

    Button; Kelly, Dendoncker, Greenwood.

    0.5 ITB

Started last season with 0.5 ITB and looking to do the same again this year. Means I'm not stuck at a specific price point if I have to deal with an injury, suspension or bandwagon after GW1. Brooks is sort of a placeholder for whichever Leicester or Chelsea mid looks best after the first couple games.

Budget midfield beasts over the years...

    2013/14 - Sterling + Ramsey
    2014/15 - Siggy + Chadli
    2015/16 - Mahrez + Alli
    2016/17 - King + Zaha
    2017/18 - Groß + Milivojevic
    2018/19 - Fraser + Deulofeu
    2019/20 - ????????

Who do you think this season's jems could be?
My guesses are Yarmolenko (6.0), Max Meyer (5.5) and Lookman (5.0)

I'm not sure. He's in my team but I agree with you, wouldn't be surprised if they conceded in each of the first 5 fixtures. I know he has plenty of attacking threat but for 6m we need clean sheets too.

That’s why he beats Coleman for me. Digne has a good deal of set pieces locked down. Not reliant on clean sheets at all.

TL;DR... statistically to optimal budget structure is:
Goalkeepers: £8.5m (one Mid-Price (Lower), one Budget)
Defenders: £28.5m (three Premium, two Mid-Price (Lower))
Midfielders: £45.0m (two Premium, one Mid-Price (Upper), two Mid-Price (Lower))
Forwards: £18.0m (one Mid-Price (Upper), one Mid-Price (Lower), one Budget)

Which roughly translates (using his scale) to:
4.5 4.0 (use a starting 4.5 of the team bookies rate best)
      7.0 6.5 6.0 4.5 4.5 (*however also recommends using 4.0 sub)
      12.0 11.5 8.5 7.0 6.0 (recommends Maddison)
      8.0 5.5 4.5

Best fit I can make is.
      Gunn (Norris)
      TAA, Lapore, Digne (Fredricks, Janmaat)
Sterling (c), Mane (vc), Alli, Maddison, Yarmolenko
      Wilson, Muto (Wickham)

*I would probably take his advice and downgrade Janmaat to 4.0 and upgrade Muto to 6.0

You may struggle to field a full team with this. I see Zinchenko and Perez as rotation risks. Will Wickham start? Doubtful. Then you’re reliant on Dendonker, Stephens and Stacey which isn’t ideal.

I’d downgrade Zinchenko to a 4.5 like Lascelles or Dunk, and use the 2m to upgrade Stephens to Brooks/Tielemans/RLC/Trossard

    Heaton (Button)
    Laporte Robertson VVD Digne (Kelly)
    Salah KDB Perez (Haydon, Dendonker)
    Kane King Deu

I do want sterling but that extra million above Kane is a real killer and weakens the team overall. The £6.5m attack/mids are interchangle which does give me some flexibility if someone is performing above the rest.

Read loads of stuff over the last couple weeks but I haven't actually changed what I originally put together. I'd love King to be Wilson but find it hard to make it happen.

    Ederson
    VVD TAA Digne PVA
    Salah Sterling Siggy Brooks
    King Jota

    Usual bench rock bottom value.

Will be keeping an eye on the 6.5 mid performances and maybe look to free up funds via siggy (possible King to Wilson upgrade).

Any thoughts to bounce off out there..?

Are Mane (11.5) and Dendonker (4.5) going to score more than say Pogba (8.5) and Milivojevic (7.5), both on pens and 0.5m cheaper?

The 8 after his name (soon to be a 9) and the fact that he said he’s running it again should have been a clue. If you had been around longer you would know he is one of the most respected posters on here. Do you really think a scammer would limit entry to 25?

I doubt the extra half invested elsewhere will give you the returns it will in Robbo, could be wrong though.

        Is he an attacking midfielder?

He can play both, some suspect he may deeper with Perez arriving.

Depends on how Rodgers uses Barnes/Gray I think.

I like the fact he's already proven himself over 13 games for Leicester.
Perez for them is still unknown, but he was brilliant for Newcastle last season.
