As we gear up for the start of the 2019/20 season, we are frantically working behind the scenes to make improvements for our site users and subscribers.

We have a number of exciting developments in the pipeline but we’ll need an additional body to help us roll out the changes we have planned.

Our previous call to arms was for editorial staff but we are now looking for a web developer to assist with the technical side of things.

We work remotely so location shouldn’t be an issue for anyone considering applying. Flexibility of hours would be desirable, however.

We are looking for the following skills from our candidates:

Required

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and CSS, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  • Proficient with CSS2/CSS3
  • Knowledge of Accessibility and Web Standards
  • Experience with both Responsive and Adaptive Web Design

Beneficial

  • A working knowledge of Git
  • Experience with PHP

Ideal

  • Experience of React.js
  • Knowledge of WordPress

Based on past experience with our job adverts, we need to stress that it may take a little time to look through and respond to applications. But if that doesn’t put you off and you want to get involved with the next chapter of the site, please drop us a line with your CV at jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

I would personally go Luiz fit set pieces but that’s just me. Apart from that pretty solid if like most you feel you need Sterling. Personally I’ve gone KDB and that allows me to get Kane. Then you have potential 3 big hitters instead of 2. Would mean probably downgrading to Ryan

What do you think of this layout of funds?

    6.0, (4)
    7.0, 5.5, 5.5 (4.5), (4.0)
    12.5, 12.0, 8.0, 7.5, 6.5
    6.5, 6.5, (4.5)

My reasoning is that strikers this year are poor. You can probably guess that I’ve got Sterling and Salah, which causes compromises elsewhere.

Advantage is that the different prices mean I have flexibility, maximum money on the pitch and a midfield packed with high points potential.

My main fear is that only the 4.5 defender sub will actually start for their team, so I’m vulnerable to injury/rotation.

      At least it's different.
Points gained for spend tell me forwards are a waste of time.
Having said that Auba has showed everywhere he has played he is capable of scoring even more that the plus 200 last year. He might be comparable to a Sterling or Salah.
Still would not like to be picking your captain each week.

1.) Would not spend that much on a keeper. I just would not. Plenty of value in Fabianski/Foster or a midrange fellow.
2.) Your defence is a disaster waiting to happen. Why happens if "Pool get off to a crap start?
3.) Midfield. No inspiration. At all.
4.) Are you REALLY happy with those forwards?
5.) Have you thought about your captains, for the first three weeks?

I have emigrated to a 352, I think that is pretty sure to take points.

Not only is this horrific advice about a team much better than your own but it is also sarcastic and clearly written to make someone doubt themselves. No time for this, shouldn't be tolerated and glad others have pointed out how awful it is too.

Ignore the other post - this is a decent team and a very strong first draft! You may want to look at some alternatives for DCL and Stones as I'm not sure if they'll hit the ground running, but the rest looks great.

        Agree...any suitable replacements?

Yes - for Stones, I would say Zinchenko is the safer bet who is more likely to get regular starts, but keep an eye on preseason. Coleman would also be a decent alternative for Everton's kind opening fixtures, or even a Spurs defender.

For DCL it's more tricky. I'd prefer having a 6.5m striker in his position, because its easier to switch depending on which is hitting the best form (e.g. Deulofeu to King, or to Jota). With DCL, you'll be taking hits for the 0.5m before you know it.

If you want to free up 0.5m, I would recommend TAA to VVD, as the latter is more assured of regular starts this season.

no decent replacements, won't till pre season is nearly done.
Tammy at Che then no to Giroud.
Everton buy someone then no to dcl etc ..
        Stones no way.

I like it, maybe downgrade TAA or Robertson to Digne or Coleman and upgrade Giroud to Rashford.

I have gone with Ederson and a 4 mil keeper as there’s nothing more frustrating than trying to rotate 2 cheaper keepers.

Thanks. To be fair ive rotated two 4.5 mill keepers for most the 10 years i been playing and it has served me well but i want to try something different this season.

TAA I cannot see being rotated much unless injured. Liverpool are desperate to win PL and will start with strongest team more times then they won’t!

I can’t see tammy or Batshuayi playing instead of giroud. Think he is a bargain at that price with the supply he will be getting from the rest of the team. Might be proved wrong but im going with hunch.

For anyone interested in Burnley's penalty takers this season (and I'm sure you all are!):

Over the last two seasons, Burnley have been awarded 6 penalties - 2 in the Premier League, 2 in the Europa League qualis and two in the FA Cup. These were scored by:
EPL v Southampton - Barnes (Wood had been substituted)
EPL v Brighton - Barnes (Barnes won the penalty, Wood was on the pitch and on a hat trick)
Europa v Aberdeen - Barnes (Wood had been substituted)
Europa v Olympiacos - Wood (Wood won the penalty, Barnes was on the pitch)
FA Cup v Barnsley - Wood (Barnes on the bench)
FA Cup v Leeds - Wood (Barnes on the pitch)

In yesterday's first pre-season friendly, Burnley beat Fulham 1-0 with a penalty by Wood (with Barnes on the pitch) following a foul on Ben Gibson.

Now in the seasons prior to the last two, Burnley's penalties were mostly shared between Sam Vokes and Danny Ings or, following Ings' transfer to Liverpool, Vokes and Andre Gray. As a rule, there was one main penalty taker (Ings and then Gray) with Vokes getting the spot kick duties if he earned the penalty.

Following on from yesterday's result and looking at the past two seasons, it looks like this is still the rule, with Wood the primary penalty taker unless Barnes wins the penalty (or Wood is off the pitch).

Admittedly, Burnley hardly provide a fertile source of penalties, but with VAR in operation, there could be an increase this season (Burnley would likely have been awarded at least a couple more penalties last season if VAR had been in place). The only potential spanner in the works is the arrival of Jay Rodriguez who was West Brom's penalty taker last season so it will be interesting to see how he fits into the pecking order. I expect though, from the start of the season at least, that Rodriguez will be in the bench with Wood and Barnes continuing their partnership up front.

There are probably better options up front in the 6.5 price bracket but if you are considering a Burnley attacker or want to stock up on penalty takers, you might want to consider Wood over Barnes.

Thoughts on Diego Rico’s chances of playing this season? Bournemouth forked out £10m plus for him last summer. I know Lloyd Kelly has signed for a similar fee but he could be playing centre back potentially leaving Rico to become our AWB for 2019/20.

He's tempting more to keep the structure and spend the money properly from the start.

Will want Perez or Tielemans in a few weeks and he'll be a straight swap and wont have to move money around.

Might I just suggest that pretty much everyone here is getting ahead of themselves and that in a few weeks the majority of people here will have quite dissimilar looking teams to what they've got at the moment.

All these similar looking RMTs that are flooding these forums. Can we just, stop, for a bit?

Is there no discussion to be had about football, or who we are excited to watch this season or who might be a good player to keep tabs on from the promoted teams?
What about transfer prospects for our favourites teams?
    Pre-season events?

You guys are posting teams like the season is going to start tomorrow. It's always the same. At the start of a DGW before the FIRST FIXTURE is even done of the week beforehand, people are posting teams, asking for advice, begging to be told what to do.

I get it. We want a good start to the season. But my word this is bordering on the ridiculous.
We all know what the template is, and what the alternatives are to having Sterling AND Salah in our team, so we can all step away from the game for a bit and stop getting so blinkered into thinking there is only one or two viable teams to have.

This website really does start to entrench the notion that only a few line ups are actually viable and the rest are utter rubbish. It's not healthy.

You seriously, seriously need to grow up. This is crazy. This post is a generic post.

I'm actually aghast as to how you think this has anything at all to do with you, and how you were on my mind at any point in writing this.

It's a statement about the hive mind striking early and how it manipulates our thinking into how we view plausible teams.

You were the furthest thing from being though about whilst writing this. You have a weird complex you to wrangle in, bud.

That's my problem too, especially as Sigurdsson and Fraser are also both fantastic options. I think Leicester are one of the few teams who can still do well against the top 6 regardless of fixtures, but 6.5m does allow plenty of investment elsewhere!

Yeah I was thinking of maybe bringing in Aguero for Kane and downgrading Bilva to Zaha. But again that would still not be enough City. Any ideas for me doosra?

I think you can get away without City until GW3, should have a better idea of starters by then too

I have Zinchenko and Sterling. Sterling is a super captain when he is hot.
I am not sure that Tielemans is a proven points scorer?
I believe that two good forwards is fine at the beginning.
          🙂

Or Jiminez to Jota and the Kane to Aguero. That way incan keep both Bilva and Kun?

I think you could probably get better value for the start of the season by downgrading Jimi, though I may be entirely wrong.

    My current draft:

    Ryan
    VVD,TAA, Digne, Ake
    Salah, Sigurdsson, KDB, Fraser
    Jimmy, Vardy

    Any advise?

Tidy. I'd probably opt for one of the 6.5s over Jimi, rightly or wrongly.

Cheers, B was my initial thought but indecision on who to choose as a 5.5 defender or whether to split the extra across the remaining two defenders

It seems pretty quiet for big hitting transfers this year so far.....we need some marquee signings like Mbappe......

So when they start arriving soon I think our teams will change consideribly......looks like Diego Costa to Everton or West Ham coming soon.

A lot of talk about Sebastien Haller to West Ham. Not holding my breath though, after how the Gomez deal fell through.
