Joe is joined by David and Karam for the latest episode of the Scoutcast tonight.

You can watch it on our YouTube channel from 8pm BST to 9pm BST.

This episode overlaps with the return of European football to our screens.

Liverpool and Chelsea take on Napoli and Valencia respectively as the Champions League group stages get underway on Tuesday night.

We will have Scout Notes on those matches on Wednesday, but for now, there’s a brand new episode of the Scoutcast to occupy your attention.

On tonight’s agenda are the best cheap defenders now that the premium ones have frustrated their owners.

We’ll also discuss how best to cover Manchester City in the wake of their surprise defeat at Norwich.

Finally, we’ll debate how to recover from a poor start to the season as many managers have endured a tough few weeks.

        Possible with
        TAA>Matip
        Digne>Otamendi
        Cantwell>Dendocker
        Barnes>Auba

But I’m not sure sum of right column outweighs sum of left...

People understandably discussing Son's poor patches... but surely that's why he's "only" 9.5. Reckon this will be his breakout season where he'll go on to join the elite big hitters. In the meantime, play him as Spurs' main outlet reap his explosiveness.

early 16th century (in the sense ‘daintily, mincingly’): perhaps from Old French gensor ‘delicate’, comparative of gent ‘graceful’, from Latin genitus ‘(well-) born’

Correct. He's not. This formation has come about due to injuries to Emerson, Kante & Rudiger. Also, in part due to Azpi form.

Alonso great going forward, leaves a bit to be desired at covering. Rudiger & Kante out means out back line are more easily exposed. 3 CBs helps this. Azpi been done a few times, but play going forward. Just gives us a bit more defensive cover in the short term.
