Three clean sheets on the bounce have placed West Ham’s defence back on the Fantasy Premier League radar.

The Hammers have not conceded a single goal since Andre Gray (£5.9m) scored for Watford in Gameweek 3.

Following the 3-1 win at Vicarage Road, Norwich, Aston Villa and Manchester United have all gone up against Manuel Pellegrini’s men and failed to make a breakthrough.

Interest in West Ham’s defensive assets is understandably on the increase, but are they worth the investment.

This article aims to uncover the Hammers’ clean sheet potential over their upcoming fixtures and which individual assets warrant the spending.

As it uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who are signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

What is West Ham’s clean sheet potential?

Lessons learned from Gameweek 6:

On my WC… which of the following?

    (A) Sterling + Son + Firminio

    or

    (B) Salah + Mount (or up to 7.3) + Aguero

Rest of the midfield / attack: KDB | McGinn | Dendoncker* | Pukki | Abraham

    * Ideally I’d have moved to Cantwell but seems like I’ve missed the boat now he’s 5

        That's not a bad shout.

The reason I'm going with Firminio (if I go for option A) is that I quite like the idea of downgrading Firminio to Vardy after a couple of games (i.e. for Leicester's run from GW9) or somehow trying to shoehorn Auba in, and just feel that Firminio is an easier price point to move from

I was looking at my boringly template team and was surprised to see I have 4.5 players (out of 15) who are < 10% ownership:

Heaton, Soy, Ota, Haller, (Rico - 10.1%)

Mostly surprising as being on this site you expect these players are all 30-40%+ as they appear in so many teams.

My aim from next week is to attempt to build TV through a couple of carefully chosen differentials before playing WC

How many sub-10% players do you have?

    1. Christina.
      • 16 Years
      6 years, 11 months ago

      4

Differentials are in def currently it seems, pity as they wont let you charge up the rankings I reckon.

The ones I'm interested in are: Bobby F, Vardy, Son, Siggy, Richarlison, Pepe

      1. Don Kloppeone
        • 9 Years
        6 years, 11 months ago

Yeh the Def point is what I first noticed.

I’m well aware that while I have my current team I will get small greens at most.

But I still have my WC and plan to differential it up over the next couple and launch my attack 😉

My wish list includes Bobby, Vardy and Wilson (if he looks to be “good Wilson” again)

Sevenplayers under ten percent (including Rico at 10.1%). With five of those in my starting 11, in fact my entire defence and goal keeper are all well below 10% ownership. My bench keeper button being easily my post popular defender/keeper.
Then Son in midfield at 8%

      1. Don Kloppeone
        • 9 Years
        6 years, 11 months ago

I think as Christina says above, the issue is that most of the ownership differentials people are holding atm are defenders who are not delivering in the same way as last season vs mids / attack

          • 7 Years

In fairness as well I think dead teams are skewing some results a bit, like I have Kane and he is sat at 20% + ownership.seems off given how few here have him, despite his ownership I still consider him a differential. See Mane as a bit of a differential as well

Have some tough decisions to make...

    1) Best option from Tomori // Aurier // Lundy // Diop // Soy?...rest of defence is Taa + Digne + Vvd + Rico

    A) King (then Haller from gw8) + Son (c) or
    B) Kane (c) (then Auba from gw8) + Mount

    Needing help with my WC!!

    Currently I'm on:
    Pope, Button.
    Robbo, Zinch, Digne, (Rico, Lund)
    Salah, Son, KDB, Mount, (Cantwell)
    Abraham, Pukki, Barnes.

Deliberating getting Vardy in somehow for Barnes. Still unsure on Zinch, Digne & Salah. Can I afford to go without Sterling & Kun?

    Any ideas?

Of course, don’t HAVE to go with Sterling or Kun, players can match and outscore them. Too much reliance is put on them out of fear imo, time to break the template.

Can somebody please explain why people are worried about Sterling? Many are even taking him out!

He’s had his rest. Big points are coming and he’ll likely end the season top fpl points scorer

This. He's less likely to be rested than just about any City player bar KDB, Ederson and Otamendi.

5 games without anything, if that was anyone else you’d be worried, Sterling is no exception.
He could haul yes, but he’s been so disappointing this far barring GW 1.

Like many complex situations - its a combination of multiple factors:

      1. His form (note: his FORM not his ABILITY) has been poormof late
      2. His price - generally means a captaincy is needed to get “proper” value out of him
      3. His manager - is a psychopath
      4. The alternatives - of which there are many

The guy is a genuinely terrifying FPL player, one of the best no doubt. But no one is essential & there’s always more than one way to skin a cat

People will get caught out hokey cokeying though, of that I’m pretty sure

Agree. If you have him you should not be selling. All pep players will get the occasional rotation. Stick to your premiums and enjoy the points. People why too short-sighted with their premiums, Sterling could get 15points this weekend then everyone will be trying to buy him again lol

I think it’s too simplistic to make a blanket statement “if you have him you should not be selling”

The situation is much more complex than that - there are very strong cases for holding AND selling here

Unfortunately, this absolutely wrecks some people’s heads, hence the frustrated/emotional backdrop to a lot of the “WTF is everyone selling Sterling” type posts

sure it's been well covered already...
Is it worth swapping Pukki for Abraham?? Or just jumping on another bandwagon... Both have good fixtures coming up.
Looks like Tammy going up in price tonight, so won't be able to swap.

Similar dilema here, do you have Mount? If so you're covered enough to hold Pukki for one more game and make a call with a little more info

Not having a go, but do you honestly think that team needs wildcarding? See like twenty of these posts a day where the team in no way needs a wildcard yet people ask. You even have two free transfers.
I don’t get why you’re asking this really

Sort out zinchenko and cabellos. Digne will start so don’t worry about doing anything about him this week and besides he will probably get an attacking return anyway knowing digne.
