This rollercoaster of a season continues. There were some dramatic highs and lows in Gameweek 6 and plenty more predicted for the weeks ahead.

Those that captained the non-playing Raheem Sterling and vice-captained the hauling Kevin De Bruyne last weekend certainly experienced the ups and downs of Fantasy management.

This week’s crew of Joe, David and Az wonder whether such decisions are down to luck or skill as they look in detail at this season’s evolving captaincy tactics.

The tale of three Fantasy managers – FPL Chef, deputy editor Neale and Scoutcaster Andy – take centre stage in the Scoutcast’s Rough with the Smooth round-up. The highs and lows of playing the game could not be any starker for this trio, who saw their FPL teams hacked, removed, then eventually returned this week.

Elsewhere, patience is running thin with Everton’s Lucas Digne and the crew reveal their strategies for tackling Chelsea and Leicester’s forthcoming favourable fixture run.

A legend of FPL in recent years is Az’s latest differential pick. Considering his last selection was Norwich striker Teemu Pukki, he has set the bar high already.

Clean sheets over the next six Gameweeks, the West Ham defence, a few pots of jam and Az’s aunt, or is it uncle, also make an appearance.

alright that settles it then, particularly given the WMS side gets cantwell on the bench too, and with extra money itb

If your FPL had been hacked and when you got it back you found they had made 356 points worth of hits what would you do to rectify it?

    A) Wildcard - but lose out on the value built up in players like KDB, Mount and Pukki
    B) Freehit - retain the value built players the following GW but arguably lose the most valuable chip of them all

    1. Holmes

Warning: He plays a lot of games:

    Saturday (28sep) H v Southampton
    Tuesday (1oct) H v B.Munich
    Saturday (5oct) A v Brighton
    Thursday (10oct) H v Sri Lanka
    Tuesday (15oct) A v N.Korea !!

He may get seized by the North Koreans and forced to play for them! Not that far fetched lol, they actually once kidnapped a film director from South Korea and forced her to make propaganda films for them. Believe she was finally allowed to leave the country twenty years later on the basis she came back. She of course never returned

Gonna move out Lanzini but I'm tossed up between Mount and McGinn.

    McGinn:
    + Super nailed
+ Get a lot of shoots
    + 1 mil cheaper

    Mount:
    + Better team
    + Higher potential?
    - Chelsea play Champions League in midweeks
    - Is he really gonna be nailed?
Kante has one spot then probably Jorginho. So Mount is up against Kovacic, RLC & Barkley then.

McGinn seems to be a safer option and cheaper, thoughts?

Aurier will ever get a cameo? I like him, don't really care if he is nailed 100%. I have a good bench that can sub him. The only thing I worry is the 1-pointer nightmare.

Haller to Barnes. I also think TAA may be able to make way. This is something im looking at in my WC for this week. There are a lot of defenders who match him for points and are a lot cheaper, also there are mids and forward at the same price/cheaper who have the same/more points. A big factor in this is Liverpools ability to keep a clean sheet. After this week they have LEI, man U and TOT, Norwich, Southampton and Newcastle - teams possible in a relegation battle when it comes to the end of the season have all scored against them.. A return of 0 CS over this period would not be surprising. His attacking threat is what is getting him points at the moment.

550k is actually doing very well (holding ground and fine margins from being a lot higher)

354 points I assume (your only 37-39 points off top 30k)

      415 is top 3k
      400 is 16k
      393 is 29k
      385 is 62k
      373 (me) is 164k
      365 is 285k
      360 is 398k
      355 is 529k
      353 is 588k
      340 is 1.1m
      330 is 1.6m

I'm at 355 but it could be worse, in fact jammy VC KDB saved me last week.
Is it a good idea to take many hits early season to get the hot bandwagons? I will not take as many hits late season.

Please help with this WC Draft had a poor start to the year-

    Pope 4.0
    TAA Otamendi Lundstram Diop Kelly
    Mane KDB Son Mount 4.4
    Vardy Pukki Abraham

    1.4ITB

    Thanks!

      Rico instead of Kelly

Why not Cantwell instead of 4.4?

What to do with Digne and Leicester assets, I have these main options:

    A) Keep Digne for now as 0 ft left
    B) Digne (MCI) -> Pereira (NEW) for a -4
    C) Digne & McGinn -> Maddison & 4.4 def in GW 9

    Thanks!

Is Firmino enough Liverpool cover over the next 4 GW's, (shu, LEI, mun, TOT)?

And TAA, but offensively he might be if he keep scoring

I'd be worried without Salah or Mane. Feel like one of these 2 are essential and Firmino is a nice extra. Sword and shield nonsense they talk about.

I think Firmino on his day is one of the best premier league players and could get into any team in Europe.

But I need more convincing about him a Fantasy Football Asset.

    What to do with Emerson?

    A. Punt on Alonso
    B. TAA
    C. Bench this week, play Rico and get Tammy in for Haller instead.

I think Trent is a must, no matter who your other defenders are. You can still downgrade Robbo latter

    Thoughts on This WC Team

    Pope (Button)
    Azp, Ota, Diop, (Soy, Lundstram)
    Sterling, KDB, Mount, Son, (Cantwell)
    Pukki, Abraham, Firminho

    0.3 ITB

Pros - Gret fixtures for Chelsea, Man City, Norwich
Cons - No TAA/Mane/Salah - could Aub and Arsenal punch me?

This week, Sterling. I like Son, but just having him I think is a differential. That being said if Mane is definitely out then I think Son’s ownership will rocket.

I'd want auba in there, downgrade azp to the cheap 4.5 Chelsea defender and Cantwell to a 4.4 mid would that free up enough ?

Benching Digne this week. Purely on fixtures - the next 3 are tricky to sell, but my plan was to do... Digne and Cantwell to Soyuncu and Maddison in gw9.
    A. Sound plan
    B. Wait and see if Everton improve
    C. Keep come what may
    D. Look for straight switch to Pereira

    1. Pinturicchio10
      6 years, 9 months ago

      I opted for D.

Italian National Olympic Committee chief Malago: “The fans who jeer black players are wrong. However it's more wrong when someone who earns €3m dives in the box & is then also happy to take the penalty."

DIVING is more of a problem in Italian football than racism? What??

It's not really saying that. They are critical of extremely wealthy footballers cheating/behaving badly. Both are worthy of criticism - I admit it's a weird reaction and not a straightforward comparison though!
