How to handle Liverpool’s blank and the Christmas period

The Scoutcast returns to familiar ground ahead of Gameweek 18 where Liverpool and West Ham have no Premier League fixture.

The latest episode starts at 20:00 GMT on our YouTube channel and runs until approximately 21:00 GMT.

We started thinking about our plans for the first Blank Gameweek of the campaign in last week’s episode and are able to take a much more focussed look now that Gameweek 17 is out of the way.

Joe, Karam and Andy will reveal their plans for Liverpool assets as Sadio Mané (£12.3m), Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.2m) are all without a match.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are proving a problem for Fantasy managers as they have now lost two favourable fixtures in a row, scoring just once in the process.

Our Scoutcast crew weigh up whether to trust them in a Gameweek 18 trip to a resurgent Spurs under Jose Mourinho.

Finally, after assessing the best differentials and clean sheets for the forthcoming weeks, we will discuss how to approach the Christmas period considering that some managers still have a Wildcard to wield.

        You seem pretty sure on Rich. I guess theres a lot of things in his favour. New manager, great two fixtures, scoring goals,.....why do I not feel good about him though. Maybe it's a Liverpool-Everton thing

          It's gut feeling and i'm WCing after two gws so for these two fixtures at home vs shaky defence with the new manager i think it may worth the risk.
          It's called a "punt" for a reason.

      I would just do Mane to Sterling (or Grealish or Martial) and roll thr transfer. Then keep Pulisic for one more week for great fixture and then sell.

      Maybe keep for 3/4 weeks? Fixtures are so good and who else is good at that price? Only Madisson really and his fixtures are terrible.

      It's funny as I'll probably just keep him for a few GWs now whereas if he'd blanked v Brighton I would bench him for McGinn this week and sell him next GW.
      Could prove a costly goal yet if he blanks over the next few 😉

      I was all ready to punt him until that goal. Have to keep with the fixtures. Have Grealish as well and there's not many other options around 6-7m that appeal.

      Only consideration would be downgrading Zaha to Traore or Dendoncker and then upgrading Connolly to Jiminez or someone else in that price range and going 343.

          It's tough between them but if you’re going to play the fixtures and picking one of them then switch according to the fixtures rather than picking one (set and forget) then keep mane vs leicester imho and monitor their minutes in gw 19 then decide.
