The fourth round of our FFS Cup took place in Gameweek 32+, with 64 Fantasy managers whittled down to 32 after its conclusion.

The fifth round is scheduled to play out in Gameweek 33+, the deadline for which is at 11.30am BST on Saturday.

ALL RESULTS FROM THE FOURTH ROUND CAN BE VIEWED HERE
THE FULL DRAW FOR THE FIFTH ROUND IS AVAILABLE TO VIEW HERE

Former winner Wild Rover saw off Hafizi39 in the round of 64 and will now take on Cailean_2 this weekend.

billybly was our highest-ranked FPL boss left in the competition but exited in the fourth round and dropped out of the top 1k in the process.

Manisaspor, who sits at 1,591st in the world, now takes on that mantle, with Dial Square just 35 places behind.

Johnnex023 was the only one FPL manager in round four who posted a triple-figure score in Gameweek 32+, racking up exactly 100 points.

Every single one of our remaining 32 managers is ranked inside the top 300,000.

HOW DO THE CUP COMPETITIONS WORK?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round were randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a draw, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

WHAT IS THE GAMEWEEK SCHEDULE?

The FFS Cup competition will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule:

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 28

Round 1 – Gameweek 29
Round 2 – Gameweek 30+
Round 3 – Gameweek 31+
Round 4 – Gameweek 32+
Round 5 – Gameweek 33+
Round 6 – Gameweek 34+
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 35+
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 36+
Final and third-place play-off – Gameweek 37+

WHEN ARE THE FIXTURES RELEASED?

Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published before each Gameweek deadline.

    Morning all,

Any mistakes in this slightly-different FH team?

    Pope
    VVD, Chilwell, Dunk
Mahrez, Bruno (C), Martial, Salah, Pulisic
    Rashford, Kane
    (Nketiah, Taylor, Holgate)

Looks good, very similar to my FH. I have a United defender and TAA instead.

Form, fixture, motivation, more rest since the last game over their opponent - all roads seem to lead to Man United assets, but with Martial and Rashford bagging the points in GW31+ and Fernandes and Greenwood taking their turn in GW32+, who is your money on to bring home the bacon against beleaguered Bournemouth?

Maybe Mo Salah is the way to go instead? He can usually be relied upon in the favourable home games and was unlucky not to return in the game at the Etihad on Thursday that Liverpool will be keen to bounce back from. Having only played 2 games since the restart, it’s hard to imagine the Egyptian will be in need of a rest just yet.

For those in search of a deadly differential, Riyad Mahrez looks the best of the rest to me. Mahrez has been in great form of late, took his rest on Thursday and now faces a Southampton side that have just 4 wins in 16 home games played with a league high 33 home goals conceded.

I don’t know about you guys but I could really do with nailing one of these! Currently on Salah but the United guys are tempting me given Bournemouth’s recent results.

Who will be your captain this gameweek and why?

Mo for me. He's going for the golden boot and won't be benched. Villa have improved but it's still villa. Utd it's a lottery who scores.

      Martial:

      - Nailed to start (can't say the same about Salah, Mane and KDB).
      - Playing OOP (striker, but classified as a midfielder).
      - At home (where he has scored most of his FPL points and where he has picked up 3 of his 4 double digit scores this season).
      - Bookies odds say he is the player this GW (out of every player) that is most likely to score, score at least two goals, and score a hat-trick.
      - Good matchup (Man Utd playing at home - 3rd best for xG and actual goals at home, Bournemouth away - 4th worst for xGC and actual goals conceded away).

I'm bringing in Martial for a hit this week. But I think I'd captain Bruno of the United bunch, cause I think he has more routes to points and is unarguably the better player.

        1. diesel001
          • 9 Years
          6 years, 1 month ago

          Martial
          Anytime = 4/6 = 59.88% implied probability
          2+ goals = 16/5 = 23.81%
          Hat-trick = 12/1 = 7.69%

          Salah
          Anytime = 8/11 = 57.80%
          2+ goals = 7/2 = 22.22%
          Hat-trick = 14/1 = 6.67%

Almost identical is NOT the same as identical. And in odds making, small percentage differences can have a huge impact on your profitability.

Do you consider Salah’s assist potential to be less than, equal to, or greater than Martial’s?

              6 years, 1 month ago

The same or perhaps greater. Martial plays centrally, he therefore gets more involved in goals when he plays in this system.

Is Salah a bad pick as (c)? Of course not. And if you knew he was going to play then he is a good (c) pick. But with Martial it is feast or famine (because half the time he is injured and scores 0 points). The thing in Martial's favour is (i) Utd are one of the most inform teams at the moment, playing the most out of form team in Bournemouth, (ii) Martial is guaranteed to start, unless he is injured (in which case he won't play and your (vc) comes into play).

The thing that hurts the most with (c) are 1pt cameos. But Martial doesn't really get those in the PL. He either plays 60+ mins or doesn't play at all.

Martial has played 38 games this season before today, how can he be injured 'half the time'?

Have you seen Martial's minutes over his career?

Last season Salah played more minutes in the PL (3,254 mins) than Martial played in the last two seasons combined (3,184 mins).

Martial, over a number of seasons, has shown he is prone to picking up injuries that will take him out for parts of the season. Even this season he was out for a period (see GW4 - GW9 in the PL).

It was on Salah, cause he's Salah at home to Villa. But the combination of Pool's lacklustre performance against City (albeit not Salah's), Salah playing the full 90, Pool only having 2 days rest after City and then just 2 days before Brighton, Villa showing some resilience at the bacj and Pool having nothing to play for but records made me turn to Bruno. Man seems to be on fire, United really have their tails up, have plenty rest between fixtures (3 and 4 days), he was brought off a bit early with game won last game and United have everything to play for. Bournemouth meanwhile look like they are falling apart at the seams.

All this said, I might shift it back to Salah, cause he's Salah at home to Villa.

Bournemouth keep possession a lot more than Burnley and are less likely to park to bus than Brighton, therefore giving United space. Martial (C) for the third week running looks tempting. Didn't work so well last gameweek but it's what I'm going with at the moment.

    21. JohnnyCroat
      • 11 Years
      6 years, 1 month ago

Firstly, there's no rota involved for Utd. It's easy to ascribe the concepts of "due" and "owed" to a sport, but if that were the case then Sterling would be the GOAT and all teams would own him or eschew Citeh in their entirety to attempt some sort of advantage.

Bruno, Martial, Rashford, all of these have the potential for goals galore, but that means nothing in truth. Fred could pop up at the edge of the box and slot one in, then Maguire could get his head on a corner for 2-0, and suddenly it's 4-0 and all returns coming from defenders and holding midfielders and the aforementioned trio have been subbed off to retain energy for later matches.

I've given Rashford the TC because if, as is as possible as much as anything can be in footie, Utd set out to put the Cherries to the sword we're going to see more goalmouth scrambles than normal. In which case poached goals are maybe on the cards. Of course, Bruno is on the penalties but he'll hand it to ANY player already on 2 and hunting a hattrick, surely?

If Rashford is positioned on the left of an attacking front line, then I'm boosted in terms of FPL (or hindered) by also having Williams who should be playing as wingback against a team with little attacking threat.

In reserve I have Bruno also, KdB, Mahrez, and Mané. In terms of differential I have Nketiah and Auba up front, hoping to catch Wolves on the hop. I know a lot of people transferred out the Gunner but that seemed mental. He's literal bookies favourite for the golden boot. So if Ings, Salah and others are being promised every chance for that accolade, why not Auba? Anyway, that's my morning done. Have an afternoon of riverbank walking as I bask in the 30 degree sunshine. Try not to get into any trouble while I'm gone.

Shaw has started all games since the restart, yes, whereas Wiliams was getting game time before lockdown. Utd have the best schedule of all it can be said. More rest time per GW. If Ole wants to take the chance to bring in players for some minutes now, to maintain fitness levels ahead of any possible injury crunch then a home game against the despondent Cherries seems a great opportunity to do so.

Anybody have an idea how to lay a complaint to the Daily Mirror?
If Maximus is right then The Mirror should state an apology over fake news about Bruno and Pogba.

It's a tabloid newspaper, half its stock in trade is made up opinion pieces to fill column inches.

I’m doing this. It’s a risk but as many have said it’s almost consensus on here that mahrez will start and KDB will be rested. Have a look at your main rivals though and think through the swords & shields. Who do you need to cover from their teams? (Eg salah) and then which differentials can you add after that, that they don’t have? (Eg mahrez)

i get the feeling bournemouth are not gonna get belted like people think. they probably went in to the new castle game with an attacking mentality wanting a w. with united theyll sit back happy with a point from a draw and to steal the game from a counter attack.

So if they concede in the first half hour they will have to open up, no point playing to lose by 1 goal.

Hi guys, need a little advice here.

    Martinez - Button
    TAA - Saiss - Doherty - Lascelles - Kiko
    KDB - Salah - Bruno - Son - Guendouzi
    Greenwood - Rashford - Jimenez

    1FT - 2.1m ITB.

Gunendouzi > Foden look decent or should I consider someone like ASM/Mount/Sarr over Foden?
