Two very familiar Fantasy Football Scout faces will be joining forces for a weekly podcast and YouTube video series this season.

Mark and Az will be co-hosting the latter’s popular FPL BlackBox podcast, which is relaunching for 2020/21 and which we are delighted to be partnered with.

Mark recently made a return to these pages and will be joining Az in a Pro Pundit capacity in the season to come, providing articles and video appearances throughout the campaign.

With 12 top 10,000 finishes between them, five of which were inside the top 1k, the pair certainly know their subject matter.

For the uninitiated, this is a podcast with a difference.

Each week, Az and Mark will look back on their decisions to reflect on what’s going right – and what’s going wrong.

The co-hosts will be analysing the mistakes they have made throughout the season, with the hope of learning from their errors to become better Fantasy Premier League managers.

There will also be assessments of other elite managers’ performances along the way, along with the usual chat on transfers and captains.

There is even the prospect of live Q&A sessions as the season progresses, too.

The first edition is anticipated to be out on September 3, with weekly shows to follow every Thursday evening.

Head over to the FPL BlackBox YouTube page to subscribe now and, while you’re at it, why not do the same with the Fantasy Football Scout channel.

Remember to take advantage of our pre-season Premium Membership offer in order to get unrestricted access to Az and Mark’s articles throughout the season to come.

We’ve recently added Hall of Fame number one Fabio Borges to our long list of contributors and there’ll be more exciting announcements to come in the next few days.

Only subscribers will be able to read everything from our elite team of pundits this season.

Full-year Premium Memberships cost just £17.50 until August 31st (the equivalent of less than £1.50 a month), with the price rising to £19.99 thereafter – so take advantage of that discount while you can.

I’m thinking I’ll start with Doherty and Rashford and leave the door open to downgrade to Vinagre and Greenwood... Annoys me that during gw1 the transfer window will still be open.

Probably going to wait and see with Doherty now due to wolves speaking maitland-niles. Rather just have the latter to be honest

He was played out of position at the Arsenal. He's more of a midfielder than a fullback.

It could very well be Neves or Dendoncker whose minutes get most impacted.

Doherty is fine. I don't understand the extreme hurry to own Man U attackers. You can get them in gw 3.

United fixtures from gw2 Are amazing and their form to end the season was excellent. Why waste a transfer in GW2 if I know if need a united player? Especially when I need to have a transfer ready to bring in KDB!

He will certainly be dropped when Pereira is back and I am quite uncertain whether he is worth that extra transfer out. If early WC is the plan he is good asset to start with. But for the big fixture swing, it's another story.

              This.

I’m going with Webster, because Justin is a transfer out as soon as Perreira is fit. That could be a few weeks after the season begins.

I don’t want to be messing about with having to do an early transfer out of £4.5 defenders if I can help it.

Currently planning to bench Bruno for GW1 but do you think there's any player who can score at least 10 points in GW1?

So I can get in Bruno for a hit or is this a risky idea?

Thinking of Alli but not sure if it's worth it as I will probably be taking a hit.

Other options - Pepe, Willian, Maddison, Mount

Not sure if these can get 10+ points but that would be ideal

Ali’s probably the best of the lot. Mount will play deep once havertz comes to Chelsea, the arsenal double for me it’s auba or bust, Maddison is meh

    2. Goonsquad245
      • 10 Years

It’s a terrible idea - there are only 3 players I’d maybe expect to score over 7 or so on average in GW1, and they’re all £12m. 10 is pretty ludicrous.

    3. Sgt Frank Drebin
      • 9 Years
      5 years, 7 months ago

Rather risky. It can happen of course that Alli, Pepe or whoever will get 10 points, but the probability is low. Matic, Tom Davies or Kante also can get you 10 points but probability is even lower. It's all about probabilities. Just check how many double digit scores your other options had last season...

Its a funds thing. Not only value, but keeping funds in mf. That said I'm on kane as he's the way better spurs attacking option imo.

I'm on Kane as well. People seem to be forgetting that a lot of Son's points for Mourinho came when Kane was injured and Son played upfront. With both of them in the team Son was so wide as you say. Kane looked by far the better option post lockdown.

Kane makes it easy to go to Martial or Werner if and when you want to make the change.

Son really only downgrades to Pulisic without having to find more funds.

This is why I have neither. Wasn't Peiters playing at the end of the season?
At some point some genius usually comes up with a 3-def 4.5 rotation. Has that happened.
(to go with TAA and Doherty?. Thx

Any idea if Pérez will be in the 11 starting for Leicester? And how about this team?

    McCarthy
    TAA, Doherty, Sessegnon
    Auba, Salah, Pérez, Pereira
    Ings, Mitrovic, Werner

    Steer, Ferguson, Neco Williams, Gordon

Uncertain. They were playing two up front during the restart, Vardy and Iheanacho. Then a midfield three. No room for Perez in that, unless he drops Iheanacho, which there's currently no reason to believe he will.

      I predict 5.5.

6.0 is too expensive imo. Azpi has years of proven FPL pedigree and is has more attacking potential. Alonso also. Other 6.0 options include Doherty, Laporte, Digne - all with much more upside than 35yr old PL newcomer in an average defense.

Also, the other Chelsea CBs are all 5mil.

Something massively understated by FPL managers since the fixtures came out are that Chelsea's fixtures aren't really great if you filter by attack GW 1-8. And it makes things even more complicated once you realize Spurs are on top. Anyone else considering going for Kane over Werner? The ownership of the latter does worry me though

I think I'm going with Son and Werner.

What's turning me off Kane a little is that he is quite a slow starter. He has also been quarantined for 2 weeks - obviously training himself but he does seem to be the type of player who needs a few games to get into full stride.
