Hall of Fame number one Fábio Borges joins Fantasy Football Scout for 2020/21

We at Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’ve added yet another high-profile name to our all-star cast of contributors for the 2020/21 season.

And Fantasy Premier League managers don’t come much more illustrious than Fábio Borges, who currently sits atop our Career Hall of Fame.

You’ll need a pretty impressive season history to claim first place in those rankings and Fábio boasts an incredible track record of five successive finishes in the top 5,000 of FPL.

Two of those have been inside the top 1k, with his best-ever overall rank of 95th recorded in 2018/19.

Fábio has never finished outside the top 20,000 in six seasons of playing the game and, just to underscore his prowess, he was also the winner of Ragabolly’s inaugural Virtual FPL competition over the summer.

The Lisbon resident will be involved with Fantasy Football Scout in a Pro Pundit capacity and will be writing articles throughout the season.

Fábio follows site founder Mark Sutherns in joining our star-studded team of contributors, which includes some of the best FPL managers in the world.

The likes of Lateriser, Zophar and Tom Freeman, who have multiple top 1k finishes between them, have come aboard for another year and we are thrilled that they will be writing for us once again in 2020/21.

While there will be our usual offering of free content from these elite names, only Premium Members of Fantasy Football Scout will get unrestricted access to all of their analysis and team reveals.

Full-year subscriptions are available for the pre-season price of £17.50 until August 31, while rolling monthly Memberships can be purchased for £2.99.

Ryan because KWP is a good option in his own right. If you dont have KWP then you can go McCarthy who is tbh the better option of the two

With Ryan you get a safety net which can help you avoid GK transfer Button !

      (McCarthy for me 😉 )

Looks like my Arsenal info doesn't want to post properly.... Basically I'm saying that Saliba will eventually be nailed and if you want to take the GW1 risk then in 2/3 lineups he starts. Saka could be nailed if Laca leaves whilst Pepe and Willian should be avoided due to lack of points for price value.

          Lloris

          TAA - Doherty - Davies - Vinagre

          Salah - Ziyech - Armstrong

          Ings - Werner - Vardy

1 ITB so I can move Ings to Martial after GW2 and captain him if I want. Other .5 can be used on Vardy -> Kane/Aguero. I could also go Vardy to Kane before GW1 if I feel it but I like Vardy's fixtures at, let's see.

I see a lot of aubameyang and reasons are obvious but are we overlooking Willian?

With a rumored 220K£ per/week, looks like arteta has not signed him to be a cover.
He brings versitality and can play on the left, right, in the hole. I think prospects are quite interesting and represents a saving of 4M compared to aubameyang

Looked good post lockdown, cheap and maybe with injuries will get match time at the start of the season. Not sure if that's enough to tempt me away from Salah, TAA and VVD, but if I wasn't going double Liverpool defence then 5.5 on Keita would be very tempting.

(Sorry for Spamming but someone helped me fix it, good read if you're thinking about Arsenal players for GW1 and 2)

Brief Summary of Arsenals main assets from an Arsenal fan:

Leno/Martinez - be wary, Leno is back from injury so he could play in the prem but Martinez has done a bit of talking saying how it's no.1 or bust for him. Will wait till CS to see who plays but imo go to a different keeper.

Saliba- Holding, Sokratis and Mustafi seems out of favour. Mari and Chambers are injured which leaves David Luiz and possibly Gabriel magalhaes. Nailed if Arsenal don't sign a CB (unlikely) but even if they do the only chance he wouldn't play is in a 4 back with Luiz and Gabriel. Nailed in a 3 and can play in a 4 better than Luiz. 75% chance imo as he plays in 3/4 lineups but again wait till CS.

Bellerin/Tierney- Tierney is nailed but Bellerin has 2 players that can take his place... Cedric and AMN. If AMN is sold, Bellerin would be first choice but I think him and Cedric would get even matches.

Saka- If Lacazette leaves but him immediately. Auba goes up top leaving only him and Willian at LW. Interviews have suggested Willian will play at CAM so Saka could be nailed Wouldn't risk rn though (whilst Laca is still here) when there are loads of nailed 5.5 options.

Willian- seems to be nailed on as a CAM for Arsenal but would have less set pieces options at Arsenal it seems like. Lacazette and Aubameyang are our right footed set piece takers whilst Pepe gives a left footed options for free kicks and corners. Only time you would see Willian take a pen for Arsenal is in a penalty shootout (Lacazette and Pepe are equally capable of taking pens whilst Auba will almost certainly be on the pitch 99% of the time to take the pen as first choice) so forget those potential points however, a role at CAM could get him more goals and assists from open play. Debatable option.

Pepe - Would only consider him on a very green run of fixtures as the points for price is not there currently. Other Arsenal assets have much more value unless you think this could be a breakout season.

Auba- Pens, Main man, most likely OoP and proven goalscorer. Nailed on whatever GW you get him back after transferring him out for GW3, keep him for the season.

Lacazette - Same as Pepe, other players worth more or less the same that can get more points. Useful as a 1 or 2 GW punt as a differential.

It's not everything but I hope this helps. In terms of who you should go for:

    1st asset Auba 2nd Saliba 3rd Tierney

Why can't Saka play in midfield?

Xhaka will start, yes. But Guendouzi and Torreira are out of favour and Willian and Ceballos are fighting for the same spot if Willian is being used as a CAM. I know Saka can play LW, but he can also play RW, CM, CAM etc.

He has been given the No.7 shirt so it feels like he will be playing a lot of games.

      1. Jotangs
        • 3 Years
        3 years, 6 months ago

We (Arsenal) will probably revert back to our 4231 formation. Saka can play LCM in a 433 but right now we don't even have enough decent midfielders to do that. Xhaka and Saka in a 4231 would not work. Arsenal's potential transfer business makes it hard to predict where players will play and with more and more players coming in, Saka starting seems less likely unless it's at LW.

      2. Jotangs
        • 3 Years

But actually you make a good point. I feel like he will be playing a lot but where I see him getting points is LW

I'm not comfortable with keeping Origi and loaning Brewster. Rather keep Rhian.

Origi’s appeared versatility might save him there.

Brewster staying over Origi needs serious trust in Minamino to be ready at LF.

Bring in another wide player. Origi value will only decrease from here.

            Announce Sancho 😎

There’s deadwood to clear out still from the wing position to find anything. Hopeful but not expecting.

Rhian needs first team PL football IMO and in the long run this will benefit Liverpool . Not loaning him out stops him getting that vital experience. Just my opinion . Origi is better than average back up which most other clubs don't have.

Better finisher than the one who takes 100 shots per goal ?
      😉

Really hope he goes out on loan to a team that will play him. Even if 2 points per week it's good to have no investment playing asset

Anyone else starting with Salah and Mane GW1 then transferring one out for KDB?

Probably start with both but one to Bruno then Auba to KDB in GW3.

      All very early thoughts.

I've toyed with it, but then again I've had about 30 drafts already so who knows.

    Hi all

Best Martial placeholder (up to 9.5m) for gw1?

Was considering Firmino as a slightly punty option.

Yeah I suppose he's the standout pick, just weary of starting with a player new to the PL...

    McCarthy - Nyland
    TAA - Aurier - Vinagre - Justin - 4.0
    Salah - Auba - Pulisic - Armstrong - 4.5
    Kane - Mitrovic - 4.5

2.0 ITB to do Pulisic to Fernandes the following week - thoughts?

Aurier is heavily linked to AC Milan - one to keep an eye on.

    Current team
    TTA Doherty Walker-Peters
    Salah Son Aubameyang ASM
    Mitrovic Werner Antonio
    Feel uneasy without Ings

I'm going to see how Werner gets on. If he doesn't do well in the Prem then I'll change him for Martial
