Also, probably worth FFS doing a round-up after all the QFs to say which PL players are still left in and which players are out and when they went out. For example, Zaha and Kodija are also playing today and so will likely be on a break that puts their GW1 participation in doubt. » Read

Still the second half to go, but Algeria in the SF of AFCON means Mahrez gets an extended break and misses GW1. Bernardo nailed at RM and an option? » Read

I see Idrissa Gueye scored for Senegal today as Senegal progressed to the SFs of AFCON.Gueye not being available for Everton in GW1 / GW2 due to an extended break after participating in AFCON would not be good for Everton defensive assets IMO. » Read

Good day for South Africa - winning in the cricket and football.Poor day for Britain / England - Evans and Dart lose in tennis. End up having to play Australia in the semi-final in cricket. Lose to France in basketball semi. Lose to Sweden in football 3rd place play-off. » Read

Time for Abramovich and the Execs to decide what they want from Chelsea. To persist with the old players (Pedro, Willian, Giroud, Luiz, Drinkwater, Bakayoko etc.) or try to develop a new young squad for the future.Personally think they need to dump a lot of those players now and look to develop the youngsters. » Read

There is uncertainty over how West Ham are going to line up. They have so many midfielders will Anderson be a sure starter? He has an advantage that he has had the summer off and hasn't had many injury problems, so you would expect him to start. But until we see a bit in pre-season then I don't think you will see much of him in teams. The other issue is he is competing with all the other 7m - 8m players and at the moment Fraser, Siggy, Bernardo, Zaha and Richarlison are turning heads. » Read

Interesting that Derby are going to appoint Cocu as their manager. That is a pretty good managerial appointment for a Championship club, similar to Bielsa at Leeds and Benitez staying at Newcastle. Shows the quality of manager is improving down the leagues now. » Read
