The second of four Premier League matches to take place on Sunday sees Brighton and Hove Albion make the long trip north to face Newcastle United.

Kick-off at St James’ Park is at 14:00 BST.

From a Fantasy perspective, it’s probably fair to say that, in general, there is less riding on this game than in the other three fixtures today.

There is nevertheless still plenty of interest in the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin (£5.5m), Callum Wilson (£6.5m) and Mathew Ryan (£4.5m), all three of whom have double-digit ownerships in Fantasy Premier League.

That trio of players starts this afternoon, with there being only one change to the starting XIs from Gameweek 1 across the two teams combined.

Steve Bruce has unsurprisingly made no alterations to his line-up following the opening-day win over West Ham United.

That means that Ryan Fraser (£6.0m), Miguel Almiron (£6.0m) and Matt Ritchie (£5.0m) have to be content with a place among the substitutes.

Graham Potter’s only change sees Aaron Connolly (£5.5m) come in for Adam Lallana (£6.4m), with the latter having limped out of the defeat to Chelsea last Monday.

Lallana is fit enough for a place on the bench, however.

Ben White (£4.5m) has also recovered from injury and keeps his place in the back three.

There were no goals in either meeting between the two clubs last season.

Indeed, not one of the last six fixtures between Newcastle and Brighton has seen more than two goals scored.

Newcastle United XI: Darlow, Manquillo, Fernandez, Lascelles, Lewis, Hayden, Shelvey, Hendrick, Saint-Maximin, Carroll, Wilson.

Brighton and Hove Albion XI: Ryan, White, Dunk, Webster, Lamptey, Bissouma, Alzate, March, Trossard, Maupay, Connolly.

Whats a bigger priority, ASM or Davies?

Leeds have scored 8 goals from 10 shots on target in first 2 matches. Makes you wonder if Bamford will be like Pukki and soon xg will normalize

    1. Puncheon Guly
      6 years, 1 month ago

Probably. They'll have to focus on defence too, no matter what Bielsa's philosophy, they can't keep going conceding 3.5 goals per game.

But as a GW1 Bamford owner "sign him up everyone!"

      1. Andy_Social
        6 years, 1 month ago

The wildcard template frontline includes DCL and Bamford. I suspect both have scored half their seasonal allocation of goals already.

        1. HNI
          6 years, 1 month ago

You reckon Jrod is better Everton cover than DCL? DCL actually had good stats last match as well

            Or how about Digne?

        2. Puncheon Guly
          6 years, 1 month ago

Bamford probably. When they back off the attack, they'll favour Rodrigo I imagine.

DCL might be ok. He did well after xmas last year

Yeah, maybe not half but I cannot see DCL scoring more than 15 and Bamford about 8 goals, do they're about 25%done in GW2 already 😉

    2. F_Ivanovic
      6 years, 1 month ago

WIll normalize but if a 5.5m striker scores 1 in every 3 games that's still probably a bargain.

Average works when you take a look at scores after season finished but with cheap players they're usually score in couple games in a row and then disapear for weeks or months even.

Trick is to have them on their purple patch, don't expect any consistency from them.

Salah (if you take him as benchmark) scored 19 goals last season, which is a goal every other game and yet people on here expecting Bamfords and Souceks to score at the same rate 🙂

        Just my 2 cents...

    3. Nightrain_
      6 years, 1 month ago

I don't think it's sustainable. Promoted team always have element of surprise in the first 7-10 GWs but eventually they'll found out.

Wolves, which was considered the best promoted team, only managed to score 47 goals in 2018/19 so that's only 1.23 goals / game.

If Bielsa keep trying to all-out-attack like this, someday they'll got crushed 8 or 9 goals

Cheers. If Podence was nailed I'd put him in with wolves fixtures.

Foden is a punt but I dislike pep roulette.

Klich being nailed and on penalties is very appealing especially with the amount of penalties being given.

ye, I might as well just play Mitchell alongside TAA and Justin/Davies... ASM > Podence seems a no brainer.
