Should we stick or twist on Leeds assets for Gameweek 20 & beyond?

Fantasy Premier League managers have gobbled up Leeds assets this season due to Marcelo Bielsa’s attacking style of play.

Striker Patrick Bamford (£6.7m) is in nearly half of all FPL teams, with Stuart Dallas (£4.8m), Ezgjan Alioski (£4.5m) and goalkeeper Illan Meslier (£4.7m) all experiencing price rises.

But with two defeats on the bounce in the Premier League where Leeds have looked unconvincing and a humiliating 3-0 defeat against Crawley in the FA Cup, FPL managers are now wondering whether to stick with Leeds players or move them on.

To help with any decisions, we’ve taken a deep dive to find out what went wrong in Leeds’ last two games and whether this shows the start of a downward trend.

GOALS DRYING UP?

Bamford has proven to be a revelation since the start of the FPL season when he was priced up at just £5.5m.

After scoring in Gameweek 1 against Liverpool, the former Chelsea player hasn’t looked back in an amazing season which has seen him rise by £1.2m in value.

With a steady stream of goals to his name, Bamford is currently in 49.4% of FPL teams, and was brought in more than 130,000 people ahead of Double Gameweek 19.

Part of Bamford and Leeds’ attacking appeal is the sheer number of chances they have in games.

      I'm benching Soucek, Coufal and Justin.

      Dallas vs Newcastle is as good a fixture as it gets. Soucek is still a CM and plays deep most of the time. Benching him over Watkins who can score huge sometimes isn't good. Soucek capped at 1 goal typically but Watkins can score a hat-trick vs Liverpool.

      Very similar team to myself and am at a loss too. I don't have KDB so thinking Salah to KDB but not sure to be honest. Same GK and DF and am playing Dallas over Justin and Coufal. STarting Soucek though as he is my 4th MD and have Vardy up top with Antonio and Bamford.

      Same starting 11 with Areola Dias Dallas Rodrigo, moving to 442 most weeks.
      I took a -12 this week in the hopes of a big BB then I’d gradually swap some of the players out until gw25 wildcard
      In saying that, it’s a good headache to have right now with a solid playing bench.

      I would play Soucek over Watkins.
      Especially if Burnley get a spanking at Liverpool, they usually bounce back well at home

        you're right tbf, its actually stopping me from making unnecessary transfers and using what i've already got. Defo allows a patient game to be played.

        Villa currently have 4 games to be rearranged, I would advise you not to bring in Steer so you don't block yourself in bringing in 3 good Villa players i.e. Martinez, Grealish and Watkins

    I work in the sport industry and have a bit of inside knowledge on the villa squad tomorrow. They are going to be naming many of their youth team players on the bench tomorrow and some may even play.

    From what I've seen they will be quite decimated. I'd expect City to absolutely batter them.

      That was the fear with C Salah. On the other hand there will be many goalscorers in that case and points are likely going to be spread. Against weaker oppisition also others than KdB can assist goals.

        They should be fit, but even when fit last season it wasn't enough to make them excellent fpl assets. But, yes, Grealish was at least better with McGinn in the team.

          Grealish is 4th highest scoring midfield player and Villa have only played 15 games,many DGW to come and is only 7.7m. If that doesn't make him an excellent fpl asset then you must be playing a different game.
