The pool of viable players for Double Gameweek 26 of Fantasy Premier League is wider than ever – so how do we identify the best options?

14 teams have two fixtures scheduled for the next round of action which means a lot of research is needed before Saturday’s deadline.

With the biggest Double Gameweek of the season looming we asked the members of the Scout Network for their top picks.

Ted Talks FPL

West Bromwich Albion’s Mbaye Diagne

In the five games Mbaye Diagne (£6.0m) has played for West Bromwich Albion, he has registered three attacking returns and has the second highest xGI per 90 amongst other forwards.

Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) is a differential among teams in the top 500k with just 5% ownership, yet he has returned in his last two games and has the highest number of big attempts to score or assist in his last six matches.

Ted Talks FPL

FPL Nymfria

Everton’s Richarlison celebrates

With two goals in two games, Richarlison (£7.9m) could be a great pick for Double Gameweek 26. At just 6.8% ownership, he is a differential with great fixtures against Southampton and West Brom.

Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) isn’t cheap, but the Manchester City attack and the England international specifically are both back and firing. With three goals and one assist in the last five Gameweeks, Sterling is a great pick.

FPL Nymfria

El Statto

Manchester City’s Phil Foden

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.6m) faces Southampton at home followed by West Brom away. Two teams he will get plenty of opportunities against, especially West Brom who have only won once at home this season. I expect him to return well for his owners.

My second pick is a bit of a gamble but after being rested in Double Gameweek 25 I think Phil Foden (£6.1m) could start both games in Double Gameweek 26, depending on what happens in the Champions League midweek. With six goals and five assists so far, he offers great potential in front of goal.

El Statto

FPL Greece

Barnes matches Vardy's output over last four ahead of Double Gameweek

Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes

Harvey Barnes (£6.8m) has been the biggest attacking threat of Leicester in the last few Gameweeks, with back to back double digit returns. Barnes is a great differential, against opposition that we can see Leicester scoring against in this Double Gameweek.

Calvert-Lewin and Everton’s confidence sky-high after a huge win in Merseyside derby. He has shaken off his recent injury, and with James Rodriguez (£7.7m) and Lucas Digne (£6.1m) looking in very good shape, Calvert-Lewin looks a good bet for attacking returns in Gameweek 26.

FPL Greece

FPL Crypto

Kane and Son both return in new formation as Spurs breeze past Sheffield United 3

Harry Kane

Although Harry Kane (£11.1m) has blanked in Spurs’ last two Gameweeks, he did register eight goal attempts in that period which is joint top among FPL forwards. Two favourable fixtures against Burnley and Fulham looks a primed for a reversal of fortunes.

Ricardo Pereira (£5.9m) lined up very advanced versus Aston Villa in Gameweek 25. In fact, his heatmap almost mirrored Barnes on the opposite flank. Leicester host Arsenal followed by a trip to Burnley and Pereira could prove to be a great differential with only 0.6% ownership.

FPL Crypto

FF Titan

Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling

Since Gameweek 11, Sterling has only blanked three times in 14 starts. He already has nine goals and seven assists this season and is performing at the highest level of consistency. He is a triple captain possibility in our opinion.

Calvert-Lewin returned from injury for 28 minutes in Gameweek 25 where he earned a penalty. He already has 13 goals and assists assists to his name this season and faces a Southampton team who have not kept a clean sheet in seven games and West Brom who have the worst defensive record in the league.

FF Titans

Returning Digne can help Everton's attacking assets return to form in Gameweek 20

Everton’s Lucas Digne

Lucas Digne (£6.1m) has eight assists this season and Everton are brimming with confidence after a historic win at Anfield. Digne has registered three goal attempts in the last four Gameweeks and has put in 30 crosses during the same period. Clean sheets can be a concern but with two favourable fixtures, we can expect returns at both ends of the pitch. – Gerardo

Leicester continues to impress, and the goals and points are coming from midfield. In the last four Gameweeks, Barnes is second only to James Maddison (£7.3m) in goal attempts, however has more shots inside the box and a lower number of minutes per xG. If he continues this form we can expect 0.08 points per minute played from him, only surpassed by Ilkay Gündogan (£6.1m) and Bruno Fernandes (£11.6m). – Leo

Bendito Fantasy

FPL Experiment

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne

Barnes has amassed 25 points in his last two games. He is showing a burst of form that coincides with the return of Vardy. The Leicester midfielder is only in 11% of teams too, which makes him a great differential for such a consistent performer.

The return of Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) is very interesting too. Whether he is playing as a centre forward or marauding midfielder, when he’s on the pitch he is central to everything Manchester City do. With most managers focusing their attention elsewhere, an overlooked De Bruyne could provide the rank jump we’re looking for!

Who would you get rid of to make space for Barnes, Vardy and Digne

    A) Sterling
    B) Bruno
    C) Son

Vardy's stats aren't standout for the fixtures when compared to those 3. Digne is good going forward but clean sheet potential isn't good. And Barnes is in great form but so is Sterling & Bruno. Son, imo is an option but if look over the 5 games I would prefer to have Son rather than Barnes, again just my opinion. And I am trying to get Son and KDB/ Sterling in.

    Morning all,

Held off using WC last week due to the late DGW announcement, therefore currently have 8 with a double, not sure whether to do A or B here, both for a -8?
    1FT and 1.1 itb

    Martinez Forster
    Stones Shaw Dallas Coufal Dunne
    Salah Son Bruno Gundo Grealish
    Cavani Bamford Ings

    A - Cavani + Ings + Grealish to Kane, DCL & Barkley
    B - Forster + Dunne + Grealish to Areola, Targett & Barnes

I don't have my TC but I do have my BB and B would allow a full bench with 11 doubles.

    Thanks in advance

Tough one, probably Bamford on pens swings it. There are still injury doubts on Maddison and is DCL fit enough to play both games?

Who would your 2nd GK be?

    A - Sanchez
    B - Areola
    C - Fabri
    D - Stick with Pope

    Martinez
    Cancello Stones Cresswell Strujik Lowton
    Bruno Salah Gundogan Son Raphina
    Kane Bamford Watkins

    1. Tonyawesome69

      5 years, 5 months ago

If you don't have BB left then it's got to be bench fodder Fabri. I don't see why you would keep Pope as your 2nd GK on the bench when you have Martinez who is the best set and forget. If Martinez is out, just deal with it when the issue comes.

No, you have 3FTs from 27-29 and can even take a hit to get 9 (-4) for 29 as long as you cover the main players like Kane, Son, Martinez etc

      1. Ze_Austin
        • 7 Years
        5 years, 5 months ago

Yeah. Many GW29 defenders look like they'll concede, while the players with blanks have good defensive fixture runs, so I think I'll focus transfers that week on template attackers

    Would you do

I do have a lot of value tied up in Bam but getting Watkins means i have 11 DGWers. Just unsure if hes worth getting if Grealish is injured.

Kane and DCL moves look good. I'm not transferring Son in as he doesn't look involved in recent games (eye-test). I can see why you want to double-up and wouldn't be against that hit but if Grealish is fit for the Leeds game I would keep him.

    Mendy
    Stones Mee Mitchell
    Salah Sterling Bruno Grealish Gundogan

If Grealish is out then him to Barnes. You could do Ings to DCL or Mee/Mitchell to Targett

None of those have a game in 29 though

You'd think you can't transfer Grealish in for gw29 or whenever he's fit.

Why are you so obsessed about BGW29? Attack the GW that is in front you. As Wild Rover said, you can transfer him back in. I said transfer Grealish out if he is injured

Also you are not willing to lose one of Sterling/Salah/Bruno restricts you from bringing Kane or Son who has a game in 29

    Morning guys! Worth doing this?

    Pope + Dallas + Raphinha > Johnstone + Targett + Barnes(-4)

To leave this team which I'd then BB:

    Martinez Johnstone
    Dias Stones Digne AWB Targett
    Salah Bruno Son Gundo Barnes
    Watkins DCL Bamford

    Current squad:

    Martinez (Pope)
    Cancelo Digne Shaw (Ayling Mitchell)
    Salah Bruno Son Gundo (Soucek)
    Antonio Ings Bamford

How does this look for GW26 with -8 hit?

Ayling, Antonio, Ings > Stones, Watkins, DCL

To make 13 DGWers and playing BB

    Thoughts on that?

    Cheers!

Yep like that hit. The only thing is you're taking out 2 players who play in 29.

Spurs fixtures don't scream captaincy never mind TC, but something in Kane's shot volume last week, and Burnley looking so poor against Baggies, makes it very tempting.

Think it's boom or bust for Mourinho now so maybe one blitz before the cup competitions return.

Palace game great for Bruno but I hate captaining a DGW player with such a hard first game, anything could go wrong

        Ditto

His returns against top 4/6 this season are pretty miserable - returning just twice if you exclude WH and Everton as marginal fixtures.

      Think WBA fixture an anomaly

Burnley are one of the worst teams imaginable for having an extra man - they just aren’t set up for it. Suspect they would have done better against eleven myself

Kane looked involved in most attacks and I'm happy to bring him in my team. For C or TC, I'm not totally convinced yet. Might go with Bruno instead

If Fabinho is fit again then probably Fabinho/Kazak - not sure Jurgen will ever get to the point of not playing a midfielder in defence again this season
