The top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers could be set for a shake-up in Gameweek 28.

That’s because no standout captain has emerged for the latest round of fixtures.

In the first single Gameweek since Gameweek 23, no Fantasy asset managed more than 27.1% backing for the armband.

Harry Kane (£11.4m) just edged the captaincy debate for Gameweek 28 after producing four goals and two assists since Gameweek 23.

But his majority is far from significant with 22.2% of the top 10k opting for Bruno Fernandes (£11.5m) ahead of a home meeting with West Ham.

The Portuguese international remains this season’s top FPL points scorer, Old Trafford proving a reliable venue for him too.

Across Fernandes’ past seven home league matches, he has blanked just once and has four double-figure hauls in that same period.

But Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m) has also turned up to the captaincy party, just 2.2 percentage points behind Fernandes this week.

Despite losing more than 500,000 owners for Gameweek 28, Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) still has a say in this week’s armband debate.

15.9% of the top 10k captained the Egyptian for Gameweek 28, perhaps encouraged by his Champions League display on Wednesday.

Ilkay Gündogan (£6.2m) clings onto the top-five for this statistic, earning the armband from 4.0% of the top 10k ahead of Saturday’s trip to Fulham.

Kane is the top 10k’s most powerful player for Gameweek 28, the only one with more than 100% effective ownership.

Fernandes is close though, his figure in this area standing at 99.6%.

GAMEWEEK 27

GAMEWEEK 28

There was not a massive amount of movement in the top 10k template for Gameweek 28, defensive assets largely showing stable ownership between the two most recent deadlines.

As you can see, Emiliano Martínez (£5.4m) is the overwhelming favourite in goal, while Stuart Dallas (£5.0m), John Stones (£5.3m) and João Cancelo (£6.2m) are still the three-most fashionable defenders at this level.

There was a rise of 5.2 percentage points in Matt Targett‘s (£5.0m) ownership in the top 10k, perhaps with Blank Gameweek 29 in mind.

While the five most-popular midfielders remain the same for Gameweek 28, including their order of ownership, we can see a sizeable drop-off for Salah.

77.4% of the top 10k owned the Egyptian for Gameweek 27 but just 59.3% held onto him past Friday’s deadline, a decrease of 18.1 percentage points.

Kane continues to turn the screw on his top-10k ownership finally knocking Patrick Bamford (£6.8m) off his perch at this level.

The Leeds man has been the most-popular forward for quite some time but his owners are losing faith.

There was a drop-off of 2.9 percentage points between the two most recent deadlines for Bamford, while Kane experienced an increase of 16.2 percentage points.

It was a quiet week for the chips this week.

The Wildcard was the most popular among the top 10k but only 0.6% of them pulled the trigger on a new squad.

0.1% went for the Bench Boost, while just four played the Triple Captain and, from what we can tell, not a single top-10k manager used the Free Hit.

That means no change in the number of chips used data, 51.2% of the top 10k having deployed three of the four available to them in the second half of the campaign.

Yeah but trust me bro, people will burn & waste their fh chip this gw which makes it fun.

If I had mine, I wouldn’t use it this gw unless I don’t have up to 8 players

the pool of talent is indeed quite limited this gw. I plan to roll with 8 and use the FH in 33

Works if you have a WC to clear them off. Without WC it will take a couple of weeks to catch the 31 fixture swing

it actually worked really well for me last year. pre - fh team scored 30 odd , fh team scored 96

the reason for that though was early team sheets - we got news salah taa etc were all getting benched. Don't have that advantage this year

The thing is, FH29 team has meant not needing to mess up your team in the last few weeks to start bringing in players for hits you don’t really want, also means you are not scrambling around to buy players back that you sold to get in starters in 29 ... so FH in 29 is probably worth 10 points in the build up, 10 - 20 points in 29, and 5 - 10 points in the game weeks afterwards ... I reckon it is worth 30 - 40 points

Literally a 30 second choice, but how does this lot compare with what most people have? Don’t even need Villa who are off the boil at the moment

      Meslier
      Dunk, Lascelles, Cresswell
      Bale, Son, Auba, Raphinha
      Bamford Kane Antonio

Note - I am not sure I will FH, probably not.

Does this stand up if you've been bringing in Spurs attack? Leeds have a plum one in 30 too and have been great value all season. Spurs have another great one too. Take your general point though.

(Form suggests Fulham defence is a better bet than Leeds attack (or defence for that matter)).

It would be a lot more compelling if Liverpool were really firing. Though a FH 29 team will probably have more Che, Mun and MCI this week and in gw30 which could pay off.

            Yip, that is the point.

I have got to the stage that I don’t actually want to sell any more of my players like Ederson, Digne, Gundo, KDB, Bruno, DCL etc and using the FH in 29 means I can keep them

I have Meslier Struijk Konsa Lascelles Reguilon Son Smith-Rowe, Kane, Watkins and I reckon a FH team will smash that lot

Only if you have WC31 but even then I wouldn't take the hit likely

      Neither?

In a similar position with 10 already in and I'm pretty certain there's more value to a 2nd FT in 30 post IB and possibly before DGW.

How many of your Arsenal 3 start is another question I suppose.

You can argue it either way but Lingard has more of an upside in my view - Dunk perhaps the more likely return. But little in it for me.

    Bale / Aubameyang / Lookman / Raphinha

Yes but Everton have better fixtures than both.
Problem is I dont want to focus too much on blank gameweek.

That's the plan. Run the team into the ground (full of week 29 players) and then WC for the run in.

I guess there are no more dgwks left.

Everton, Villa, Spurs & Soton definitely have a DGW pending.

Also there could be more doubles & blanks if PL play around with fixtures to get fans into the stadium for the last 2 games.

Thanks. I think the latter decision is based on an application to the govt isn't it?

Hasn't the govt already allowed for fans to return to the stadiums on a certain date in May (17th I think)?
I guess the PL are trying to reschedule the matches in such a way that every PL team has a home game over the last 2 matches.

Solid argument for Mendy being part of the best Chelsea defensive double up?

He's still cheap enough and Thiago coming back makes the CBs even less certain.

Could get Alonso and just live with the benchings and rely on 5th defender. Aside from him (or Chilwell I guess) attacking returns seem outside prospects.

Sure, he seems like the most nailed on defender apart from Azpi. I am a Chelsea fan so if you have any question I can try to help (although you probably know as much as me).

        Ty

I'm pretty set on Azpi and have been for a while. Just hoping he gets his rest this week so I can get him in in 30 unless Everton double then.

I have Ederson and am now having second thoughts about whether he's worth it. Any swap would likely involve a hit but that would be disguised in a double transfer possibly for Mount in midfield.

Im tempted to get Alonso and just live the with benchings.

Also as Zophar mentioned Alonso is likely to start all these games against teams who sit deep.

        Yep

Alonso does seem to be the preferred option now but I see him as one of the players that will be rotated.

Looking at it there's a scenario where I could swap out Ederson Stones to Mendy Alonso in 31 say

Quite like its actually. Both Stones and Alonso seem unlikely to be nailed but get a decent number of fixtures. Alonso is the clear upside choice of the two.

Think 31 could be a good week to make the move given I'd take Leeds to score at City.

Yep, I think I'm going with Mendy & Rudiger (cos he's cheap as chips) on my WC. I'd only touch Azpi among the rest of the defenders.

    4. Vlekz

I would get alonso with a 5 mil bench mid(saka or someone), the upside is huge

If you go Alonso who would your "banker" be?

Looking at a strong fifth bench anyway - and may end up with something close to a 4-5-1 as my default team moving forward.

tierney for a city defender, they have a nice run 31 on and you'll want to offload some city /spurs by 33.

I can get this team for next week with no hits.

Any point taking a -4 to bring in another player like Auba?

    Kane - Watkins - Bamford

This is worth a BB in GW30 right?

    Martinez (FUL)
    Pope (sot)
    Cancelo (lei)
    Dallas (SHU)
    Targett (FUL)
    Stones (lei)
    Coufal (wol)
    Bruno (BHA)
    Son (new)
    Bale (new)

      Surely

It always was a coin toss for me between 26 and 30 for Leeds heavy sides.

Cancelo/Stones may be the weak link there. It'll be post IB so we'll have even less than ever to go on second guessing Pep. I'd want rid of one of them in a BB situation. The double benching could so easily be.

Yeah that’s true. I had planned fir Auba -> Bruno in 30, but that could be one of the MCY defenders -> say Alonso/Shaw/Digne instead

Currently have 5 bgw players can get 7 without a hit or FH

    What’s the best option here

    Salah > Bale + Mitchell > Veltman/dunk

    Or

FH for son, bale, auba, lingard, antonio, veltman, dunk etc

      FH for me on that

Salah to Bale can stand up of course but the Brighton defender you're unlikely to want to see again any time soon (GW33 perhaps). If you could find a stronger defender (Cresswell?) who you'd want to hold through then maybe the FTs
