Joe and Seb are joined by Rich, aka FlapjackFPL from the FPL Surgery podcast, to look at the key issues facing Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers ahead of Gameweek 34.

Burnley’s Chris Wood (£6.3m) was the surprising stand-out star of Gameweek 33 for many of us, with a 20-point haul against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

But a points bonanza for the New Zealand international was arguably predictable given his stellar underlying statistics in recent weeks.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion striker was among ‘unfairly unfashionable’ picks the Scoutcast crew focused on two weeks ago and given his strong returns since, Joe once again looks at this list to find the next Wood.

Can Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.5m) be back in vogue? Will FPL managers see beyond Matheus Pereira‘s (£5.5m) West Brom label? And is it possible that Newcastle’s Joelinton (£5.7m) and Dwight Gayle (£5.9m) can continue delivering unexpected returns?

Meanwhile, Leeds United have dropped off the Fantasy Football catwalk in recent weeks due to a poor fixture run. But with a great set of games to round off the campaign, they are looking trim and tailored once again. Leeds fan Seb leads the discussion through the best options.

To make room for these passé potential points scorers, more established players need to make way.

The crew are on hand to ponder on the potential risks and rewards of removing Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (£11.5m) and Liverpool’s Diogo Jota (£7.1m).

In addition, the Scoutcast crew also look back on their Gameweek 33 highs and lows, and reveal their upcoming transfer and captaincy plans.

        With no hits, would you do either Greenwood-Son or Gündo to Maddison/Mount? Or hold?

      Not keen on Maddison any more and it feels a tough week to bring in Mount.

      Like Holmes I'd keep Greenwood if he's a no show tonight. Son doesn't look that great in 35 really. Not at all sure that I wouldn't just roll.

      Other option I see is TAA + Gundo to Struijk + Son. Feel sure you really want to be on double Leeds defence 🙂 Or maybe cheap Everton or Villa if you're faint of heart. Phillips exists too of course.

        Last week felt a bit like his sensational form may fall away. Obviously it might not but I think the likes of Siggy etc (DGW) may offer more value going forward

          So he blanks first time in 9 fixtures and you think he wont score anymore points? His fixtures are great, he didn't fluke all those points (maybe some as a salty non-owner for some of it haha). But point being, he was playing chelsea who have the best defence, he now plays some of worst defences. Easy hold

          I honestly just think those who went Kane to Vardy should just stick with it now. Vardy doubles in 35 whereas Kane doesnt, pointless to reverse it now. Bruno also still posting good underlying numbers and a good double, and of course I wouldnt drop Salah.

          Chelsea and Leicester may or may not have a DGW - we don't know yet.

          If fans are to be allowed in at all GW37 and GW38 matches, then all GW37 matches will have to be moved from the weekend of 15-16 May to the following midweek.

          This would leave no matches apart from the Cup Final (CHE v LEI) on that weekend, so it is expected that all GW36 matches would then be moved from the previous midweek (11-12 May) to that weekend - apart from MUN v LEI and CHE v ARS which would have to remain in that midweek to avoid fixture clashes with the Cup Final.

          It then depends on whether or not FPL leave the GW36 deadline where it is (on Tuesday 11th May). If they leave it where it is then the midweek of 11-12 May will remain in GW36, which becomes a DGW with just the two additional matches that have not yet been scheduled (AVL v EVE and SOU v CRY).

          If however FPL moves the GW36 deadline to 14th or 15th May then that midweek would move to GW35, with the result that GW36 would then lose two matches (MUN v LEI and CHE v ARS) and that GW35 would be a DGW with four additional matches (AVL v EVE, SOU v CRY, MUN v LEI and CHE v ARS).

          I wouldn't really want rid of Salah, Watkins or Bruno...
          With the league won and him not playing every game and not playing advanced, I'd probably lose Gundo for someone with a DGW - but maybe save the transfer until they're concrete?
