Two sides in woeful defensive form meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening.

Spurs v Manchester United kicks off at 17:30 BST.

The Lilywhites and the Red Devils didn’t keep a clean sheet between them in the six Gameweeks preceding this one, each conceding 13 goals in the process.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer has responded to the thrashing by Liverpool by opting for a more defensive set-up, bringing in a third centre-half in the shape of Raphael Varane alongside Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire.

Edinson Cavani is also recalled to the side, so United seem to be lining up in a 3-4-1-2 as both Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have dropped to the bench.

Paul Pogba serves the first match of a three-game suspension after his sending off last week.

After naming an unchanged team for three matches in a row, Nuno Espirito Santo has made two alterations for the teatime visit of Solskjaer’s troops.

Ben Davies is in for Sergio Reguilon at left-back, while Giovani Lo Celso replaces Tanguy Ndombele in midfield.

GAMEWEEK 10 LINE-UPS

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Varane, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Ronaldo, Cavani.

Subs: Henderson, Bailly, Dalot, Matic, Van de Beek, Sancho, Lingard, Rashford, Greenwood.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Emerson Royal, Romero, Dier, Davies, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Moura, Lo Celso, Son, Kane.

Subs: Gollini, Doherty, Reguilon, Sanchez, Rodon, Tanganga, Alli, Ndombele, Bergwijn.

    Bottomed. Quandry here.

    Sanchez
    TAA / Cancelo / Chilwell
    Salah / Jota / Raphinha / Mbuemo
    Vardy / Antonio / Toney

    Steele // White / Livramento / Bissouma

Is selling White (WAT, LIV, NEW, MUN, EVE) for James (BUR, LEI, MUN, WAT, WHU) worth it?
    - [WAT, LIV, NEW, MUN, EVE] vs.[BUR, LEI, MUN, WAT, WHU]
    - Arguable creates more benching headaches, plus James cameo risk.
    - James has probably had his 'big' hauls now, so chasing?

    Looking at:
    A) Raphinha/White > Foden/James
    B) Jota/White > Foden/James

I don't know how I feel about selling Jota. Firmino was poor again today, and when he starts, he's good (in a Liverpool team that is firing). The cameos like today are a bit annoying however. Foden will be coming in for him or Raphinha, who after today - has dodgier fixtures (in a much worse team).

Although Bakar has just tweeted this, that highlights Leicester issues down Raphinha's flank.

        - See of green for Man City soon. Cancelo isn't a sell. If I have to, bench,
        - Agree RE: Toney/Mbeumo - but Norwich left, else I can actually just bench them too?
        - Jota - problematic at times but cannot deny his or his team's quality.
        - Raphinha - do you not think he and Leeds are a concern too?

They do have a fair few injuries, I think people keep forgetting. Mbuemo missing out a big miss. But that's why I'd be okay to bench them if needed.

    2. Joey Jo-Jo Junior Shabadoo

Jota out has to be the priority.

        LEI, TOT, BHA.

        - Leicester were worse than I though they'd be today, and aforementioned flank weakness, but Arsenal -were- good
        - Tottenham are pretty shocking in fairness, but not sure Leeds exactly go wild
        - Brighton is a tough game

Then it's CRY (playing well) and BRE (also well, till today) - then poor fixtures.

    Raya* Foster
    TAA Chilwell Cancelo White Livramento

Looking like another stinker of a GW. Raya obviously has to go, which of Guaita, Sanchez or Ramsdale to replace him?

Thinking of rolling the second FT, most of my useless blankers have a decent fixture next week.

I wouldn't lose livra. I'd spend points before losing him to be honest. Is there a playing cheaper striker? As a manquillo replacement effectively it doesn't matter to go to someone really cheap who you hardly play. Alternatively, Raphinha could possibly be downgraded too... But then you'd need to spend points if you want to bring your Chelsea boy in next week! Hope that helps... Not sure it does :-s

disagree. if the focus last week was on how bad Utd were, not how good Liverpool were. then this week it should be on how abysmal Spurs were, Utd looked okay - but still questions over the formation, subs and what it means for the likes of Greenwood and Sancho - not involved today, 3-5-2 won't suit them compared to 4-3-3.

Biggest surprise of the season for me.

With the huge turnover of players, the loss of Roy, the signing of a relatively inexperienced manager with an attacking possession style, I thought they'd go down. Viera and the Palace board have done a superb job.
