Another Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline is almost upon us and there are plenty more to come throughout December.

As is always the case on a Friday, the comments section of our site is filled with requests for advice on transfer dilemmas and team help. So we’ve asked five-time top 1k finisher and Scout’s Deputy Editor, Tom Freeman, to answer some of them over the next hour.

He’ll be on hand to reply to comments below the line of this piece and will get through as many as he can until the next article goes up, with priority given to questions from Premium Members if there is a deluge.

As ever, you can chip in with your own opinions on the raft of RMT requests filtering through – and naturally, feel free to ignore the article subject matter and talk about any other wider FPL topics that you’d normally be musing on.

Don’t forget that, if it’s an algorithmic answer you’re after rather than an opinion-based one, we also have a ‘Rate My Team’ tool available in the Premium Members Area, which gives points projections for this weekend and beyond – an example of which is below:

Both look pretty sound, but I'd put B slightly ahead, w/ Antonio and Gray.

      Origi form, Firmino back.

    Sánchez** // Foster**
Trent Cancelo Reguilón** // Veltman** Livramento
Salah Son** Raphinha Mbeumo // Brownhill
    Vardy Antonio Toney**

    (A) Veltman, Son, Toney --> James, Jota, King (–4)

    C) Jesus + Son -> Ronaldo + B.Silva -4
    D) Son + Raphina -> B.Silva + Mount -4

    Salah, Jota, Raphina, Gallagher, ESR
    Vardy, Dennis, Antonio

Regulion and Raphina to B.Silva and Dalot for a hit seems logical. Or I could do Raph and one of Gallagher/ESR to B.Silva and fodder?

never take a hit for gk - max you get is 6 points averaging - which means you only gain 2 points roughly

worst case you get 1 or 2 or even 0! and you've lost a minus for that

I've got sanchez , will just rid it out

Brownhill to Bowen for a hit in case Jota is out?

  13. Pep bites Kun
    • 9 Years
    4 years, 4 months ago

This a very general strategic question.

Considering the number of hits likely out there in the fpl world; if I can get away without a hit this week, would it possibly stand to me in terms of rank?

Team & bench are pretty solid for this week, but I've lost quite a bit of potential TV waiting for pressers, etc.

I noticed a few weeks back I'd gone up a couple of percent in OR before the games started. I imagine this week it'll be even more.

    3. Dammit_182

Yea, could easily be -6 up on a lot of active teams before games start. If your team does t need the surgery then could be good.

I’ve taken a -4 and might go to -8 safe in the knowledge it’s not just me

      1. Pep bites Kun
        • 9 Years
        4 years, 4 months ago

There's no doubt I'd like to bring in some players earlier, but I'd need at least -8 on top of 2FT to make it happen.

If you want a rough and ready method, look where 4 points above you is OR, then estimate how many you think will take a hit (in the higher ranks about a third?)

    DDG
    TAA Cancelo James Alonso
    Salah Jota ESR Bernardo
    Vardy Antonio

    Steele Dennis Sissoko Livra

    0ft 1.3m ITB

Tempted to do Jota > Bowen (-4) but could do the same move with ESR if he's ruled out.

    A) Jota > Bowen (-4)
    B) ESR > Bowen (-4)
    C) No hit.

    4 years, 4 months ago

    Ramsdale (Sánchez)
    Alexander-Arnold Cancelo James (Livramento Reguilón)

    Ronaldo Dennis (Watkins)

If Jota (who didn't train) doesn't play, Watkins comes in. If James (who played 90 minutes against Zenit) doesn't play, Livramento comes in.

I’ve got both Kane and Sanchez out. Thinking of just keeping Sanchez, but considering Kane to Lukaku for a hit or even using free hit. He’s got Leeds at home. Can’t afford Ronaldo. THoughts?

    1. Dammit_182
      • 5 Years

My thoughts are get Ronaldo. Just get the money from somewhere.

I’ve bought a second keeper as insurance for the winter as I see more postponed games and so t fancy hokie cokey with keepers.

Sanchez will get doubles in future which could be very decent too.

      1. MountainBeach
        • 14 Years

I’d have to do Gallagher to Mbuemo and Kane to Ronaldo or something. That would be -8 or -4 with a free hit. Lukaku has decent fixtures and he’s a flat track bully after all.

Have Foster on the bench but he’s injured.
