As a young girl walking into a football stadium with my dad, I was conscious that I was not your average football fan. I regularly found myself sitting in the stands at both White Hart Lane and Stamford Bridge as one of a real female minority.

Now as I sit in the stands with my six-year-old daughter, the difference in the numbers of male and female fans no longer feels as noticeable. She can buy a football shirt made specifically for female supporters and the stadium facilities cater for the growth of female attendees.

Spurs now boasts an average attendance of 8,614 at their women’s first-team matches, the most in the league; remarkable growth for a team that was founded the year I was born.

International Women’s Day is all about celebrating women’s achievements, increasing visibility and calling out inequality. Organisations such as Her Game Too have encouraged women to break out of their comfort zones and push for increased representation in the football world.

“I want people – boys and girls – to be sat at home watching me alongside the likes of Rio Ferdinand or Frank Lampard, thinking that it’s normal, that we all know what we’re talking about, and that they’re not judging me at home just because I’m a female.” – Alex Scott

Across the FPL community, female content creators have added a new dimension to the game. As the first female content creator on YouTube, FPL Nymfria paved the way for other women. In addition, Holly Shand’s creation of Fantasy Football Community gave the community a platform to celebrate their work.

Since, there have been a number of high-profile women in the game, including the likes of Jules Breach and Kelly Somers. Their work both in FPL as well as in the Premier League, European and international football alike, has encouraged others to follow their dreams and be active in the Fantasy and football arenas.

When Lee and I founded the FPL Family in 2017, I was anxious about the reaction that I would receive. In the early days of the FPL Family, we did have comments on my gender and the “I’m not listening to women who know nothing about football”-type lines. However, these comments were always dwarfed by the positives.

The encouragement of the team at Fantasy Football Scout has allowed me to have confidence in my own value as a content creator and to ride the quest of the wave as the FPL Family grew.

Over the course of the 2021/22 season so far we have seen the development of new female content creators, as well as increased activity from those that existed before. FPL Nymfria and Kylie FPL have a Weekly Watchlist stream on the FFScout YouTube channel and I love the Q&A streams I do with Az every week. On top of this, Linn is now part of the Scout Network and is doing great work, especially with FanTeam.

The Premier League, Official FPL and Fantasy Football Scout are great examples of how companies can improve their offerings by leveling the game. Last season, the Premier League worked alongside me to help me produce some video content on women in the game. I went to the Premier League with an idea to highlight the remarkable things that women were doing with FPL and they helped me to make it a reality.

We produced a video on the female personalities, which was published on the FPL website.

We also produced video content with some big female personalities in the FPL community. In addition, they gave me access to the rest of the recordings for a series of videos on the FPL Family YouTube channel.

Both my son and daughter are growing up seeing their mum and dad appearing on the FPL Show and the Official FPL Podcast. They are listening to Jules Breach on BT Sports Score on a Saturday afternoon and watching the likes of Kelly Cates, Kelly Somers and Alex Scott hosting football and working as pundits. As they get older and have access to social media, I hope that there will be equality for all creators and members of the community alike regardless of race, gender, creed, sexuality or age.

They are growing up in a world that strives to improve equality in the game and this is their normal. This is something that I am proud to be a part of.

Kinda stuck on chip-strategies going forward. I still have FHx2, WC and BB. My initial plan was FH in GW30 but now I'm thinking a couple of hits can get me a decent enough team for GW29-GW31.

Team right now with 0FT and 3.9ITB (knee-jerked Bowen -> Kulu last night).

    LLORIS*
    Digne* - TAA - Cancelo - Livra
    Coutinho* - SALAH(C) - JOTA - KULUSEVSKI* - Fraser
    Jimi*

    Subs: RAMSDALE, Tarkowski, Weg, Dennis

    CAPS double in 29
    * has fixture in 30

If I take a -8 for Saka + Laca I'll have 7 doublers and 7 players with fixtures in GW30 before using my next FT. That way I could save all chips until there is more info on the big doubles and blanks. What does the jury say?

I’d say you’ve already missed an opportunity to attack DGW28/29; your plan for 30 is at the minimum end of the scale; and it’s not clear that this will be offset by better opportunities in 33, 36 and 37. As many as 12 PL teams could have a double in 36, so there might not be much of an edge to be gained through chips. It’s the obvious slot for anyone still holding their BB, but rotation will be rife given the competing priorities.

Cheers for the replies guys. Last minute change of plans rarely work out. Will still take a hit to get Saka or Laca but FH30 seems like the logical route with my team.

In addition, I rarely take hits and perhaps I'm blinded by my Foden + Maddison (-4) -> Cout(C) + Fraser that worked out like a charm.

While I'm waiting for this nightmare gw to end (35 points with 6 to go...) any ideas for next week? 2ft and 0.4itb. Only 3 dgw players (from Liverpool) looking like a death sentence. FH in gw30.

    DDG
    TAA Robbo Cancelo
    Salah Foden Raphinha JWP
    Adams Weghorst Jimenez

    Foster; Bowen*, Livramento, Dawson

Thinking about DDG -> Ramsdale, Bowen -> Kulusevksi and maybe even Dawson -> Doherty for -4.

I've decided Kane (-4) over Son

Which option would you go for? No FHs left.

    A. Foden and Watkins to Kulu and Kane (-4)
    B. Foden and King to 4.4m and Kane (-4)

    1FT 3.1ITB
    Ramsdale
    VVD TAA Tierney Cancelo
    Raphinha Salah Saka Foden Bowen
    Broja
    (Fostee Watkins Digne King)

I think I'm leaning towards that at the moment. Not ideal with that much funds up front but I get to keep Watkins for 30. Bowen to Kulu could happen depending on his injury status

Have to say there's a lot I don't like about it. Triple Everton, Jimenez who looks like he's out of favour, Thomas could be displaced by Justin or Castagne, Raya could be someone from a team that has better defensive form

They played 2 of the worst form teams in the Premier league in those last two games.

I have Kane, but put Spurs up against a decent, competent team and it could be a different story.

Yet, they beat Man City. Which just shows how unpredictable they are.

As someone that's had Kane and Son for a few weeks and is likely getting another this week, I think maybe 5 of their next 6 games are suited for them, being up against teams that will attack them and leave spaces behind, and all of those games are against teams that need wins. I think it's worth the risk

        Certainly worth keeping and playing.

The problem with Spurs is that we never know which version is going to turn up each GW.

I don't think even Spurs know which version of themselves they're going to morph into each GW either.

Spurs tend to struggle if they have to breakdown low blocks as they don't have the creativity in midfield and Kane generally has to drop deep. Brighton and United will allow space for the counter.

Are you sure Bowen will be fit for GW30 though? He's been confirmed out of the Villa game this week, if it turns out he's a late fitness call for the 2nd EL leg v Sevilla and he plays the Spurs game is just 3 days later and he could well miss out

If this will be the case then it's an easy transfer to Kulu , isn't it?

But you won't know though for sure so that's the risk, especially with Moyes as he likes to be vague with info. I think just make the move this week especially as you want Kulusevski

What to do with this lot?

WC and BB left, 2.4itb, 1ft

    Sa | Ramsdale |
    Trent | Robertson | Cancelo | Livramento | RAN |
    Salah | Saka | Coutinho | Mahrez | Gilmour |
    Watkins | Broja | Dennis |

I feel like Spurs assets are needed, maybe Chelsea too (lack of FH for 30 is making it a bit of a headache to be honest)

Completely lost. Not been keeping track properly the last couple of weeks and it shows.

I am 2nd, maybe 3rd in my mini league after this GW. I have FH2 remaining. My team for GW30 has 5 players - Tierney, Martinelli, Bowen, Son, Jimenez. What’s the play? A couple of -4s to get to 9 players and save the FH? Or just FH?

Any words of wisdom would be super.

Keep (a) Dennis or (b) Weghorst?

Watched Watford v Arsenal and Dennis looked dangerous in patches. Not so sure on Weghorst but he has more fixtures.

When did you buy Dennis? Perhaps it's time to cash in and move on. I would keep WW if I was you, purely because of more and easier games.

As a starter I prefer Dennis. If benching then maybe keep Weghorst for the doubles later

    Anyone wilcarding this week?

    1. TanN

      No

I wouldn't before BGW30 - you'll want Salah, TAA, Robertson etc for the DGW29 but then struggle to get enough players for 30 i think. Either way you won't get the best team possible due to planning for GW30. I think lots of people are taking hits for GW30 e.g. Liverpool, Man City assets out but then WC31 or soon after.

      1. jimmyharte
        • 8 Years

Well my thinking was that as I will be playing with likely 8 with 2 hits for gw30 anyway that I could still play with 8 for gw30 not have to take the hits and be better set up for this weeks doubles if that makes sense.

I think 8 players across 4 games is fine for non FH teams.
Some fixture swings happening 31/32 like Villa dropping so would rather own now then lose on wc, possibly wolves too

This double gameweek has gone horribly! ML Rival has doubled my score due to James (C) and Havertz. Feels like the elite managers just knew James would start and do well, prob vs Norwich too.

Did Bench Boost and Tierney and Cancelo get nothing despite 7 goals in their games.

Just shows FPL needs a little good fortune with those chips and those can be the difference makers in your season.

Just sharing that to empathise with any others that have had it all go wrong this week

I have played my TC on Salah earlier this season and got 84 points.

I doubt either Kane or Salah will get anywhere near that due to harder fixtures.

If I had to choose I would go Kane this week, man city showed that man u are weak defensively and brighton arent on good form (i think its 2 CS in 14 matches.)

Not tempted to hold it for the massive DGW36? I'll be playing BB then

Worth a hit to do both or just use 1FT…

    Ramsdale
    TAA Cancelo James
    Salah Son Saka Raphinha Bowen
    Laca Broja

    (Sa Livra Digne King)

    GW29:
    Bowen & Digne ➡️ Kulu & Doherty -4
    (Bench Broja)

    GW30:
    Salah ➡️ Barnes/Maddison
    (8 starters)

    GW31:
Barnes/any mid ➡️ Salah or wildcard

Thoughts on this plan? Am I G2G without Kane?
