Gameweek 2 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) concludes with Liverpool v Crystal Palace, which gets underway at 20:00 BST this evening.

Darwin Nunez gets his first competitive start in a Liverpool shirt, replacing Roberto Firmino and joining Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz in the three-man Reds attack.

Darwin was the third most-bought forward of Gameweek 2 following his nine-point return against Fulham on the opening weekend, with just over 350,000 managers hopping on board the Uruguayan.

Jurgen Klopp has made four changes to the side that drew at Craven Cottage, with budget defender Nathaniel Phillips, James Milner and Harvey Elliott also in for Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara.

Three of the players to drop out are injured, with Firmino absent as a precaution, Matip out with a muscle issue and Thiago sidelined for the foreseeable future because of a hamstring problem.

Phillips gets the nod over Joe Gomez, who is on only the bench despite the centre-half shortage.

Patrick Vieira has made just one change but it could be a significant one regarding starting formation, with defender Joel Ward coming in for benched striker Odsonne Edouard.

Michael Olise is fit enough to be a substitute after a long spell on the sidelines.

GAMEWEEK 2 LINE-UPS

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, van Dijk, Robertson, Elliott, Fabinho, Milner, Salah, Darwin Diaz

Subs: Adrian, Gomez, Keita, Henderson, Tsimikas, Clark, Carvalho, Bajcetic, Van den Berg.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Clyne, Guéhi, Andersen, Ward, Mitchell, Doucouré, Schlupp, Ayew, Zaha, Eze

Subs: Edouard, Milivojevic, Mateta, Hughes, Johnstone, Ebiowei, Plange, Olise, Richards.

Depends what Robertson does to be honest. A structure with Nunez Jesus and haaland definitely lacks balance in midfield.

Not many mid table teams have world class Keepers, CBs, FBs, DMFs, Wingers, and 9s though.

3 of the Liverpool starters look mid table, the rest look top tier.

Nailed enough I think however i’m not sure you want any Everton in your team. Even at their best defensively I still see them losing 1-0 and I don’t see them scoring many goals at all so no attacking returns for Patterson either.

I know Man United can't do it, but the most practical thing to do would be to sell all starting 11 players and buy a completely new 11, that would have the better better than the relegation form that they have now.

QQ - was playing around with transfers last night taking out Rashford for KDH.

Not the worst thing in the world, but I’m a bit surprised that I’ve gone to check it out this evening and the transfer has gone through… but I didn’t confirm the transfer unless I’ve done it in some sort of semi-sleep state!

Has some sort of auto transfer thing come into effect on FPL if you leave the browser window open, or did I just drink too much wine?

For those with Toney, Haaland and Darwin, is it understandable to drop Haaland for Jesus? I think you can justify it as KDB/Son can feasibly match Haaland, it's not looking like the 8mil mids will match Jesus

Big game for Robbo here. If he blanks again it's probably going to be a mass exodus with people swapping to Chelsea/City defenders or changing formation to accommodate Darwin.

      • 10 Years

You could say that about a number of Pool players though. Big game for Darwin & Diaz too.

Less so for Darwin. Even if he blanks he's still looking at having more than 1 attacking return per 90.

        Agreed on Diaz though.

      Yes.

I feel like the core of the template is doing that to all 'differential' template players.

Fair to say that most started with

      TAA - Cancelo - James
      Salah - Martinelli
      Haaland - Jesus

      Resulting in Robbo/Walker/Perisic/Trippier/Cash/Digne/Zinch/Gabriel , Bailey/Neto & Kulu/Saka/Mount/Diaz/Mahrez/Foden/Maddison
Heavingly relying on results, cause they drop fast when they do not deliver.

The last time Nathan Phillips played regularly with Liverpool in 2020/21, he started 15 games and recorded 7 clean sheets. 6 were in his final 10 starts at the end of the season, though they weren't against particularly stiff competition.

Yep, wait and see. But for today, double Pool defense owners like myself can have hope that the CS is still a possibility.

Why isn't Gomez starting? He's not flagged for injury. And, what is the PL/CL CB rotation this year with Konate out? Maybe... Phillips is in the picture after all?

Swapped him to Rodrigo before the price changes on Saturday.

It's one thing to have Rashford blanking for me every week, it's another to let him drain my team value.

Right, 20 minutes til kick off.

Enough time to settle back with an ice cold drink (cola) and watch the latest United fans reactions video on YouTube.

    Ramsdale
    TAA, Robertson, Cancelo, James, Perisic
    Salah (c), Martinelli, Andreas
    Jesus, Haaland

    Ward, Neto, Bailey, Archer

    0 ITB 2 FT

Not quite sure where to go from here. The elephant in the room is Neto and Bailey. The only was I could get a good replacement is to downgrade Robertson.

Any suggestions on what moves I could make here?

Is there anyone cheaper than Rodrigo who you think is a better pick in midfield?

      Not to start every week.

His teammate Aaronson looks promising and I think Neto will be decent in parts this season.
