We’ve got all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) injury updates, team news and key manager quotes from seven more Premier League press conferences that were held today.

Scott Parker was also due to face the media but after his dismissal on Tuesday morning, it’s unclear whether anyone from Bournemouth will be taking questions from journalists.

We heard from nine top-flight bosses on Monday, five of them ‘live’ and four of them via some embargoed quotes held back from Saturday.

READ MORE: The key updates from Monday’s pre-match pressers

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Bruno Lage won’t be staging a live press conference for Gameweek 5, while Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag will only do so after the FPL deadline has passed.

We did get an update from Mikel Arteta, however, in quotes released from an embargoed section of his post-match presser on Saturday.

KEY UPDATES

PRESS CONFERENCE TIMES:

MANCHESTER CITY

The million-dollar question on many FPL managers’ lips was posed to Pep Guardiola in his pre-match press conference – and the answer was a predictable one:

“Tomorrow you will see.” – Pep Guardiola on whether Erling Haaland would start against Nottingham Forest

Guardiola didn’t provide us with much in the way of injury news but did reveal that Ilkay Gundogan‘s benching against Crystal Palace was partly attributed to a leg injury.

LIVERPOOL

Darwin Nunez (suspended), Thiago Alcantara (hamstring), Diogo Jota (thigh), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (hamstring), Caoimhin Kelleher (muscle), Ibrahima Konate (muscle) and Naby Keita (muscle) remain out but several names are nearing a return for Liverpool.

Curtis Jones (muscle), Joel Matip (muscle) and Calvin Ramsay (muscle) have all been back in training full this week, meanwhile.

“I think Diogo can train from Thursday on, Thiago I think slightly later. Calvin Ramsay is getting closer, Kelleher I saw walking outside for normal goalkeeper training. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.” – Jurgen Klopp

NEWCASTLE UNITED

Already without Callum Wilson (hamstring), Emil Krafth (knee) and Jonjo Shelvey (hamstring), Newcastle have been hit by more injury blows heading into Wednesday’s match at Anfield.

Bruno Guimaraes (hamstring) and Allan Saint-Maximin (hamstring) are significant doubts, although Kieran Trippier should at least be fine.

“He’s doing well. I don’t know about this game coming up, but hopefully not long after if he doesn’t make this game. He’s very positive, in good spirits, desperate to get back and be involved. He’s a big player for us and we need to get him back as quickly as possible. Just a slight hamstring.” – Eddie Howe on Bruno Guimaraes

The club are also facing a race against time to register Alexander Isak in time to play, although at least have up to 75 minutes before kick-off to do so.

“I don’t know, I still don’t know. I hope so, I desperately hope so. It’d be great to see him involved for us but we’re in the hands still of other people. So desperately hoping that gets done before the game but there’s no guarantee. It could go down to the wire.” – Eddie Howe

ARSENAL

Reiss Nelson (muscle) and Thomas Partey (thigh) appear to have been joined on the sidelines by Mohamed Elneny (hamstring), with media reports on Tuesday suggesting the Egyptian faces a spell out injured.

Mikel Arteta said he “didn’t think” that Oleksandr Zinchenko (knee) would be back for the visit of Aston Villa – but these were comments made on Saturday and local media seem more upbeat on his chances.

“I don’t think so. We still have to make another scan, especially on Thomas, to see the length but I don’t think they will be available. It is a similar area [to the one that kept Partey out last season], but hopefully not as bad.” – Mikel Arteta when asked if Oleksandr Zinchenko and Thomas Partey could be back for Villa

ASTON VILLA

Diego Carlos (Achilles) is the only definite absentee for Aston Villa’s clash with Arsenal but Steven Gerrard gave updates on Tyrone Mings (illness), Cameron Archer (hip) and Philippe Coutinho (fatigue) in his pre-match presser.

“Cameron Archer’s a doubt. He’s got a little bit of a hip issue. He came out of training yesterday and felt a little bit of discomfort. I don’t think it’s a big issue, I think it’s days. We’ll check on him today.

“Tyrone did a partial session yesterday after his high temperature and not feeling too good. We’re hoping he’ll do a full session today and will be available for us.

“Phil’s issue at the weekend was down to fatigue and cramp. He should be available, and we’ve still got a full session to go before so hopefully, we get through that.” – Steven Gerrard

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Orel Mangala (hamstring), Moussa Niakhate (hamstring) and Omar Richards (leg) are out of Wednesday night’s trip to face Manchester City.

“It’s not serious, it is a hamstring injury. It’s still a bit inconclusive of when he will come back, but it is more days and weeks, rather than any longer than that.

“We have to be a little bit careful, with it being a hamstring, but I saw him out on the grass running yesterday – with the physios, not with us. That is a step forward in his recovery.” – Steve Cooper

WEST HAM UNITED

David Moyes didn’t report any fresh fitness worries in his pre-match presser, saying only that the Sunday-Wednesday turnaround would “test the squad”.

New signing Lucas Paqueta seems unlikely to feature.

“He’s not trained with us yet, we’ve only got the paperwork done last night and we’re waiting on him arriving as he’s had to get his visa etcetera today. But look, he’s signed and that’s the important thing. He will be a big player for us.” – David Moyes on Lucas Paqueta

LEICESTER CITY

James Maddison is being assessed after a “twinge” in training last week forced him to sit out Gameweek 4 but Brendan Rodgers says he’s “hopeful” that the midfielder will be involved against Manchester United on Thursday.

The Foxes have no other fresh concerns.

“We’ve had most of the guys training and available as was for the weekend. [On] James Maddison, we’re hopeful, but we’ll see how he is tomorrow.” – Brendan Rodgers

Benching Saliba this GW, hoping I've got his two attacking returns for the season the last couple and Arsenal are a bit vulnerable with Partey and Elneny missing at DM

If there were 11 players talked about in a prospective way, you're filling 11 positions with them. There's no Perisic, TAA, Diaz - but you can't have everyone.

Only weak link is Robbo, but not weak enough to transfer out on a good fixture + he is still there on the eye test.

      1. Marty McFly

Robbo at home to Newcastle surely can’t be considered a weak link!?

Out of those 11 players listed, if I had to bench one I'd say Saliba, but he costs peanuts.

Robbo is 2nd choice though for me. For his price, he is the weak link "in that team" IMO.

13 points out of 4 games and hooked twice for Tsimikas, for a 6.9m defender and 1 out of 3 Liverpool slots used is a bad return on investment.

Maybe I'm giving Newcastle too much credit. I suppose they do also miss a few players.

Generally he is an OK choice, I have him in my team, would like to get rid of him but he never comes to the top of the "problem list" due to having good fixtures and having points up his sleeve.

I have a feeling that Haaland will get 60+, 20-30 or 0 mins. I think all of those against Forest are enough for C. I cant see minut cameo for him, that is reserved for academy and Mahrez 😀

Yup - i think i'd still take my chances on 20-30 mins against a tired Forest defence then hopefully my VC comes into play if he doesn't come on at all

    Need help mate !
Would you WC this team ?

    Ramsdale, Ward
    James, TAA, Cancelo, Neco, Vestergaard
    Salah, Kulu, Martinelli, Rodrigo, Andreas
    Jesus, Halaand, Greenwood

If I WC, this would be the template (only issue, no Salah and have to choose between (1) and (2)

    Sanchez, Ward
    James, TAA, Cancelo(1)/Walker(2), Neco, Saliba(1)/Gabriel(2)
    Diaz, Kulu(2)/Gross(1), Martinelli, Rodrigo, Andreas
    Jesus, Halaand, Kane

Just my opinion, but there's no call for a WC there.

Maybe look to get rid of Vestergaard, Kulu and Greenwood at some point - but the rest is template?
      James is out today.

      No Salah = No issue.

You are aware, that if you go option 1, you're proposing a wildcard for 3 transfers, right?

If you are to WC to the team you mention above, I'd not bother.

Do you have any FT or any ITB?

        Thanks for answer,

Option 2 is also 5 transfers

Wow my maths and my eyesight failed me poorly.

I'd say use the 1FT and potentially a -4 to get a decent 11 for GW5 - that's very possible - the rest of your team is OK.

The -4 is a shame but I don't see how you upgrade Vestergaard or Greenwood without it.

Maybe Kulu and Vestergaard to Gross and Walker/Cucu

It's not a rumor anymore. Nathan Gissing says he misses out through illness. He's a very reliable ITK. He's out.

Rumors began picking up speed after a girl at the team hotel says she didn't see James arrive. Also Karam who went through all the Chelsea training photos and didn't see James.

    Mendy
    TAA - Cancelo - Trippier
    Salah - Diaz - Martinelli - DaSilva - Pereira
    Salah - Jesus

This is my starting XI this week, Neco on bench.
Too weak, right? Trippier could be out too and obviously wouldn't want to play DaSilva and Pereira.
DaSilva to Aaronson for a hit?

Aaronson isn't really a "strong" move" to fix the "weak" in the above.

Guess you have no FT. I'd hold and hope that they all play. You need a couple of transfers to fix that team. (starts by downgrading Salah or Haaland IMO)

      Assuming Salah upfront is Haaland.

0.4m in the bank, 1FT. James is out. Neco plays City and I need 3 defenders from here:

    Sanchez
    Cancelo, *James, Saliba, Trippier, *Neco

    A) Play Trippier.
    B) Neco --> Dalot (blocks my move for Trent next week)
    C) James --> Chilwell / Cucurella / Koulibaly / Mitchell / Dunk

Can't buy City and Arsenal players.

Not sure why James to Cucu is getting no traction. If you have the FT it frees up money and gets you almost like-for-like. Probably better than like-for-like until Tuchel stops playing James as a CB for half of the game. Cucu gets so high up the pitch and has taken over corners even when James plays.

C to Cucu a clear choice for me.
