Following on from Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Chelsea, there are three more Gameweek 15 matches taking place at 14:00 GMT.

Unai Emery makes two changes for Aston Villa in his first game in charge, with Lucas Digne and Jacob Ramsey coming in for Ashley Young and Danny Ings. That means Emiliano Martinez recovers, despite coming off with a head injury in Gameweek 14.

Erik ten Hag, meanwhile, makes just one alteration from midweek, with Marcus Rashford in for the suspended Bruno Fernandes.

At St Mary’s, Ralph Hasenhuttl makes four changes from last weekend’s defeat at Crystal Palace. Armel Bella-Kotchap and Juan Larios are recalled, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Theo Walcott also start.

As for the visitors, Callum Wilson leads the line, with Eddie Howe’s only change arriving on the wing, as Jacob Murphy comes in for the suspended Joelinton.

In east London, West Ham change their entire starting XI from their midweek Europa Conference League win. The most significant switch arrives in the number 10 position, with Lucas Paqueta replacing Flynn Downes. Gianluca Scamacca, meanwhile, is preferred up front to Michail Antonio.

At Crystal Palace, Patrick Vieira makes three alterations, with Nathaniel Clyne, Cheick Doucoure and Jordan Ayew coming in for Joel Ward, Luka Milivojevic and the injured Odsonne Edouard.

Switching Ward/Iversen to Pope/Iversen was astonishingly excruciating enough and now I've done Solanke to Wilson as well with Almiron locked out.

I know these types of post can encourage little sympathy/accusations of sour grapes, but in all seriousness, in this era of active players and information is it worth continuing to play?

Chips aside, there's little hope of actually getting anything resembling a respectable rank. In the past I've advised people to just keep playing and carrying on regardless, but the mechanics of the game (particularly with Haaland perma cap) gives it a very stale feel. I even notice content creators starting to lose interest as well.

Could the game allow for more transfers? Only one or two more, nothing extreme. When you're buying the likes of Foden who has a blank and then is inexplicably and suddenly glued to the bench then that's yet another move that has gone from a no brainer to now being even further behind with very little scope for recovery.

I sympathise with the 50/50 calls going so extreme with no evidence beforehand - but the statement on whether its worth continuing to play is a bit silly.

Yes there's stats but it's a game of chance. This will happen.

Fair. The reality is I'm just not very good at the game. And yet it can't be all luck as Fabio Borges has shown.

I don't think Ville Ronka plays anymore and he was exceptional.

In dame boat. Not going to give up ever. Unforeseen things may happen and Haaland injury is possible. Should that happen, captaincy might have huge role.

Trying to find a captain to recover in response to a Haaland injury sounds worse than Haaland perma cap tbh

I tried C Cancelo this week. My VC was Trippier. Correct, but there is a chance at least.

I was thinking about this whilst walking the dog too. Content creators have killed the game in terms of overall rank. Instead of competing vs 100'000 engaged managers you're competing against 100'000 engaged managers plus 1-2m copycats.

To enjoy the game we need to rethink what is perceived a good rank.

      1. Ser Davos
        • 10 Years
        3 years, 5 months ago

Yes, it's fantastic in one sense, but the ratio/proportion of research to rank has got significantly wider

Just wondering if any rule changes can compensate

    6. TheTinman

Could also argue Haaland cap presents a huge opportunity. Predict the week where City don't fire and you could gain some serious points.

Interesting and good advice. I've quit before and I honestly remember feeling much better for it. Nuts we're these "sophisticated" apes ha

I just get lulled into thinking I can improve and since circa 2019, I've gone from a reasonable decent manager to a useless one

Luck factor is huge. Give mercy to yourself. I got where I wanted last season, aim was top 10k and lucky timing with Matty Cash over Digne got me there. Not every season is going to be good one.

It should not in any way be treated in any way seriously. The whole thing is daft as we know. It gives this illusion that you're only a piece/s of info from cracking the code

It's just easy to find yourself in a rabbit hole, particularly when the likes of Danny Ward goes from impersonating Taibi whilst in your team to Lev Yashin the moment you transfer him out
