    Thoughts on the following, please:

    Pickford
    Gabriel, Estupiñán, Pinnock (Botman, Baldock)
    Salah, Rashford, Saka, Martinelli, Eze
    Haaland, João Pedro (4.5)

Seen Joao Pedro in a few drafts today. Do you think he’s first choice? Locks you in to Salah GW2 captain too

I think he'll play more often than not. Going only one striker is a bit too risky, and I only like Watkins — but that would mean no Saka for me.

Looks good. I would go for a Villa defender in place of Pinnock. Rotates well with Botman. I have Cash in defense at the moment.

Nice. That would allow Flekken in goal, who I think is a better option than Pickford.

Do you think Cash is nailed?

And that's where the issue is. We probably will know before it all starts.

What would be the best combination

    Foden & Encisco
    or
    Eze & Mitoma

Eze & Mitoma. Other two are big rotation risks. Foden should be nailed on at the start, but not sure Enciso is as he’s not started a lot of their pre season from what I’ve seen.

    Thoughts please.

    Onana,
    Chilwell, Gabriel, Estup
    Salah, Saka, Bruno, Eze, Bowen,
    Haaland, Wissa.

    Basically boils down to:
    A) Onana, Chilwell, Bruno
    B) Flekken, Trent, Mitoma

Feels weird going without Trent, but that seems like a no brainer.

I’ve had Trent in my team since the game launched. Finally taken him out as I don’t see Liverpool keeping many clean sheets (unless they invest). The 8 million for me needs clean sheets with his assists

      1. Barphilona
        • 11 Years

Yeah I get what you’re saying, but realistically he could walk away with 20+ assists if he gets into a groove in the new system - bearing in mind he had 7 in his last 10 - and if an 8m midfielder did that, you’d be laughing. That’s the only thing that worries me.

For those wondering about who will lead the line for Arsenal now, FPL's team prediction has Nketiah.

4-3-3: Ramsdale; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Partey; Rice; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli

They're also predicting Zinchenko who has played 0 minutes in preseason to start so I wouldn't read much into it.

And that time is 2days away. It's really only between Eddie and Trossard for the no.9 spot. I don't think Arteta bought Havertz for his exploits up front for Chelsea, he's awful with his back to goal

In my opinion, the cheaper Arsenal attackers (Trossard, Martinelli) have as good of a chance at attacking returns as anny Arsenal asset over the opening gameweeks for Arsenal.

Many are looking to save .5 and 1m here and there. I wouldn’t be surprised for the attacking returns to be shared. Easy upgrade or downgrade (to a 6.5) with banked transfers after GW4 or so if it doesn’t work out. Beginning of the season is a bit of a lottery anyway

IF they get the minutes - that's the gamble. If you pick Saka or Odegaard, you have less to worry about.

Agreed. But I’d go as far to say that “coverage” actually applies to Arsenal attackers as I think the points will be shard now more than ever. Obviously the community shield may give us a better indicator of minutes and form

Yeah it wouldn't be shocking at all if Havertz, Trossard or Nketiah have the most points after the first 3 GWs.

Indeed. I can see myself owning multiple Villains. I'll hold back a bit to see which of Watkins and Diaby are best value, and who out of Pau and Moreno are the best options once they are fit and settled.

I'm still on Watkins, but Diaby could be a great pick. Not so sure about their defence until Moreno is back for his attacking threat. The high line they planned against Newcastle in preseason didn't scream clean sheets to me. Teams usually look more vulnerable in preseason though.
