    Please:

    Turner (Pickford)
    Gabriel, Estupiñán, Colwill (Botman, Baldock)
    Salah, Rashford, Saka, Martinelli, Eze
    Haaland, João Pedro (4.5)

    A. Gabriel to Saliba
    B. Eze to Diaby/Mbeumo
    C. Martinelli to Maddison
    D. Hold

P.S. As for the article, JWP is surely one to monitor for me.

I don't think Rich will stay nailed. His involvement was poor vs BRE.

Maddison however, already appears to be the fulcrum of that team. He got good xGI and baps last weekend.

Of course, it is too early to be definitive but the signs are there.

            honestly I'm considering doubling up

    Haaland-J Pedro (Balogun)

    1FT.

Planning to stick this week, but are there any other suggestions? Also looking for considerations for GW3, I'm quite fond on Maddison and might swap him for Rashford if he continues to underperform.

The BBC article saying 3 of the refs would not officiate this weekend after screwing up was annoying. Dumfounded how the ref was not sent to the monitor, I really don't understand the rules around when a ref is sent to check I guess

        1. MBK 42
          • 11 Years

Assume the VAR team didn’t think it was a clear and obvious error by the ref, not sure how they thought that though.

its so obvious what they need to do to sort the situation

VAR should be there to help refs not correct them.

Get rid of subjectivity, clear and obvious doesn't work

and mic em up, lets hear the conversation between VAR and Refs so we can understand what is going on.

plus they should be accountable after the game like managers/players are

how can football get it so wrong when so many other sports manage to use technology well? Our game is run by dinosaurs

If things stay as the are I'll do the following moves next week with 2FT for Chelsea's cracking run of fixtures.

    Eze Osula to Nakamba Jackson

    Turner Nakamba Kabore Baldock

Bre(a) after is a weird fixture. Don't rate the Brentford defense that highly, but they will be the home team and could be difficult for Palace. Liking my Eze pick a lot less after that blank against She and the upcoming fixtures being middling at best.

Was always going to captain Salah this week but likely now put it on Haaland.

Effective ownership of Salah will still lead to gains if he has a good game and if he doesn't and Haaland goes off it will not be good for rank.

    Thoughts?

What's mad about captaining the highest point scorer in the game last season?

Doing it because of the time of the kickoff

Its early in the season, Haaland will play midweek and then has one of his tougher home fixtures at the weekend vs a confident Newcastle, if there is a time to go for it I think this is it.

If it pays off it will be massive, if not there is loads of time to recover

Yep, probably still going with Haaland.

Stones > Chilwell? Would mean I double up on him and James

Quite fancy that though given Chelsea’s run of fixtures and pep’s comments on stones…

I've doubled up by doing Stones > James. I feel it makes sense for the reasons you've stated.

Tried the Timber + Gabriel double up (missed leak) and got burned. Who at 5.0 or less do we move Timber onto? Straight swap over the Saliba, roll dice on a City throw (Gvard or Walker), or start building a bit of bank cushion down to a 4.5?

Likely looking at incoming Maddison GW 3.

    Johnstone (Turner)
    Estup/Chilly/Gabriel/Timber* (Baldock)
    Salah/Rashy/Bruno/Saka (Chuckwu)
    Haal/Pedro (Osula)

Just a heads up for Bruno owners, Brunos average position during the match was closer to the centre half and Mounts was right by the 16 yard box. Now this might be just because Wolves where defending deep and so Bruno had to drop back to try and open them up with passes from deep(such as the pass to AWB). But just nice info to have going forward. (Also most of us MU fans did talk about Bruno playing deeper this season before the season started).

United attack very much overhyped without merit

Yeah, without a proper striker the attack is poor. Rashford is useless upfront. I almost went without him as well, because I knew he would start upfront, but FOMO. But if Spurs defend like they did vs Brentford, Rashford should get a goal or two.

Just have written, useless against teams defending deep. Also, most of his goals last season came when he could attacking from the left of the field and inwards.. I.e. his favourite position. And he's also said he doesn't like playing upfront.

The link? Picture of where Bruno(and the rest of the team) where playing for most of the match.

The link is just an idealised visualisation of the positioning of Utd in attack vs Wolves defence. Subjective

Sofascore is pretty good for this. Average positiona available under lineups tab, and if you click on a player's number you get their heatmap

I couldn't figure out what the hell United were doing in midfield last night. Massive gaps everywhere and at times Casemiro was bizarrely the furthest one forward.

Do you remember seeing Bruno inside the opponents 16 yard? I remember one time, when Anthony tried to thread him through with a pass that was harder then his shots.

Agree with I Member. Average positions are one thing, but on the two occasions Cunha was able to barrel through the United half it was because both Mount and Bruno were caught high up, leaving Casemiro exposed.
It seemed to me they'd focused so much in training in building up with Onana from the back and making little patterns around their own box, that the players were underprepared further up the pitch and weren't on the same wavelengths.

Now if I noticed that, I'm damned sure ETH did and will work on it during the week. I'm sure they'll improve. Last season, it took them 2 woeful games before they got their act together. Might be a repeat this season.

Are these the average positions? It felt like Martinez and then Lindelof were trying to step into midfield to make an extra man from the bits I saw.

I could be mistaken with the picture, so sorry for being misleading. With the link. But if you saw the match, it is basically how Bruno played for the majority of it.

Not being salty as Salah owner but can anyone please explain to be how Salah and Chilwell were offside. I mean I know how they would be offside but didn't we talk about change in offside rule? If the new rule was how we talked it to be they should be clear onside shouldn't they? Something is not right here.

Prem is not using the new rule this season.

Its being trialed in other leagues, cant remember which ones off the top of my head, think Dutch and one more.

If Foden Plays tomorrow I don't think he play saturday so would start Jao.

Also a bit knee jerk that Wolves defend well against horrible UTD but Jao could score....
