    Bottomed

Hoping my patience with Rashford and Eze pays off this week. I see a lot of people have ditched them, could be some interesting comments if they deliver this week.

My thoughts are not worth the risk with Rashford having Forest at home and Eze could easily have a GW1 assist (goal line clearance) and GW2 goal (if pen was awarded) plus he has looked gemerally lively. Think the points will come

I have Bruno and getting rid this GW, if I had Rashford I would be moving on too.
      Utd not firing at all.

      Eze I would keep

Don't get me wrong. Last chance for Rashy. Just seems a bad GW to move him on given the opponent

Forest stopped being a good fixture at around the final third of last season

They have the second lowest xGC so far in the league after Man City, and that's after they faced Arsenal (rank GKs on the FPL site/app via xGC to see this for free)

Not saying they're now unbreakable, but they're no longer the "hat trick expected" kind of opponents that they were until late last season

A great attack can still score 3+ against an okay/good defence on their day, but what makes Man U a great attack right now?

Funnily enough, this means that one goal/assist could be enough to seal maximum BPS, as we saw with Foden vs Newcastle

I just don't have enough confidence in Rashford to get said goal, based on the first two games. Definitely a small sample size though

As for Eze, everything looks good there for future returns, yeah. I'd keep if I had him

I think the issue with Rashford is when he plays through the middle. Far more effective on the left. He hardly gets a touch when leading the line.

United need to bounce back from a poor start, put the Greenwood issue behind them and answer a lot of critics. They could easily score 3 or 4 this weekend even though forest aren't a bad side.

Also XGC includes a game against Sheffield United which more than evens out the Arsenal game.

Id be surprised if garnatcho gets another start, been really poor with so many bad decicions. If I can see that rashford looks bad as a strikes im convinced that ten Haag also can see it. I belive we will se sancho starting next gw, and hopefully as a false 9 (as he was in pre season) and then Rashford pn his prefered posisjon (left).

But mount out injured worries me when it comes to bruno, really dont want him if he's gonna play cm..

My team value is up to 101m. But tbh, if I didn't have Salah I wouldn't care at all. This season is weird. If you don't have Salah you have enough budget to get basically everyone you want.

God forbid Haaland gets injured, we'll all have like 4m ITB.

Depends if Trent or Trippier look like good options, we might want to jump on them. I've got 2.5ITB plus not sure how long I'll hold Jota and Martinelli. For once the promise of the mid price (6.5-7.0) mids looks like it will live up to expectations.

    Haaland Watkins

    Turner Baldock Kabore Mubama

    0.5 ITB & 1 FT.

Morning mate, I would say that's fairly solid?

Gabriel should play the next game but if you're concerned I would be bringing in one of the City defenders Gvardiol/Walker, or Dias at 5.5 would be my play. I also want rid of a few of my players (see below) but think i'll stick for one more week.

Bruno & Rash together I'd maybe say you need to swap one, again if it were me I'd keep Bruno and swap Rash for Foden so if you want to take a -4 I'd be doing Gab > City defender and then Rash > Foden.

If you are going to consider a City 'defender', then just go for Ederson. At least you know that you won't have Pep frustrating you.

There is no attacking value from City defence now that Cancelo is gone.

We have the exact same squad and I’m planning to roll my transfer.

      - Happy to take a risk of Gabriel starting against Fulham.
      - United really need a performance so giving Bruno/Rash one last chance.

G2G? Will risk Madders & Joao Pedro will come in if not. (no hits taken, just one FT even though I've resisted the urge to WC)

    Pickford
    Estup - Chilwell - Romero - Colwill
    Salah - Saka - Bruno - Diaby - Maddison
    Haaland

Turner - Joao Pedro - Beyer - Mubama

I am not suggesting you should get rid. Spurs cannot be without him. If you are taking a hit, I would rather do Pedro to Alvarez.

For me it does, and I also don't bring in players thinking about one GW, but I will play along.

Depends on how risk averse you are too - Ode - safe. Foden - more risk.
Foden's new role is exciting, but City are not yet clicking fully attacking-wise it seems, but same can be said with Arsenal, with Nkeiah and Havertz to be integrated. You can see it in Martinelli for instance, not being as dangerous now.

    3. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 3 months ago

Foden as a pretty explosive "punt" for the next 5. I just don't expect him to start all 5

Odegaard if he's your set-and-forget Arsenal mid. I don't think two Arsenal mids are needed while Nketiah is starting, but I'd like at least one due to fixtures and, yes, EO

I've gone Rashford to Foden, fwiw. Looks a bit too obvious now, especially with the Maddison injury

Thinking Mitoma to Maddison GW4, Foden to Diaby GW8

      1. Zimo

Even better. Both have Fulham, so the difference between them is Foden's Sheffield vs Ode's Man U, with the caveat that Ode will most likely start both

Jesus won't be back by then, so we're likely still looking at Nketiah up top, which hasn't helped other Arsenal attackers much so far. I'll prefer Foden for those two GWs, then

Most of us have a backup for Gabriel. My backup is Udogie who has two good fixtures and has attacking threat. So perhaps getting rid of Joao Pedro and/or Pickford is a higher priority?

My Salah plans keep shifting tbh. Current thinking is I might downgrade him this week with a plan to buy back on WC8/9. Partly this is due to abandoning my WC5 plan & wanting to spread the funds short-term, partly because I don't think I'd captain him again til GW9, and also since I have Jota too & his place is looking a little more secure than expected.

For me though Salah / no Salah is key to timing my WC. Its easy enough to do something like Salah & Woodrow - Maddison & Isak, but getting him back without WC could be tricky. And I'm still pretty upbeat about his longer-term potential this season.

Curious is 8/9 the best time to wc in your opinion? I haven't had the greatest start but I look at my team and still think it looks decent but have been tempted to wc.

2nd IB, nice fixture swing for Liverpool & Villa, so probably time to get Salah back & reconsider captaining him (which won't be easy to organise with funds spread). But also I dont think my team needs an overhaul just yet, and it still feels too early in the sense that most of the big sides are in transition and we might not get a great idea of their relative strengths til after the 1st IB (e.g. want to see Arsenal without Nketiah, Man Utd with Hojlund, if Diaz continues this run & is nailed, how UCL rotation is dealt with by NEW/LIV/ARS). Plus the 'best' GK & budget enablers haven't really changed definitively since preseason.

Likewise. Having seen the couple of games it seems both Jota & Diaz are most likely to start and are good cover without Salah. Also this frees up £ to avoid an early WC and adjust for NEW & AVL runs, and any emergencies that will inevitably crop up. And as you say, possibly get him back when the WC comes. Thanks for your reply and gl.

I know it’s only three games into the season but I’ve wildcarded early. Had too many issues with the team and languishing spectacularly in the mid 4M. I’ve dropped Salah and it feels like a season defining moment as it could be a dumb move. We shall see. Any thoughts on the new lineup would be appreciated.

    Ederson Turner
    Estupinan Chilwell Saliba Andersen Pau
    Ode Foden Mitoma Jota Eze
    Haaland Watkins Wissa

Basically same position as you, went Salah avoided Estupinan/Brentford cover & went Gabriel instead of Saliba.

Looks good though, decent bench for your risks to cover your risks. You persevering with Watkins? I've raged transferred him out after only bagging an assist from 4 villa goals.

Anyone else feel Nketiah is going to stifle the other Arsenal attacking assets? They have not looked all that threatening. Fulham probably going to be thrashed but not sure Nketiah up top for Arsenal is beneficial for FPL.

He's more of a poacher rather than a creator like Jesus which means Saka and Martinelli get less chances. However I think Arsenal should create plenty of chances this weekend with Ream out and not sure on Palhinha fitness

Yes, Fulham stand no chance at this point. They are doomed with their defence. What happens after GW3 for Arsenal attacking assets is what I am most interested in.

Already happening. Careful writing off Fulham though - Palhinha made a huge difference to their defensive performances last season (think it was 10 GC in the 3 games he missed). Came on as sub v BRE so could well be back

Slight issue according to the Spurs tier 1 source, and can even hopefully make the squad this weekend

Not the kind of situation where I'll take a hit. Even 2 points off the bench can be good enough

I'm sure we'll get something more concrete from Ange's press conference though

My midfield currently is, Diaby, Saka, Salah, Bruno & Madders, so maybe Bruno.. which would also free up some funds to upgrade Joao Pedro. However, not sure I want to lose Bruno before Forest & any moves I make would be for a -4?

    A) Bruno > Foden
    B) Bruno > March/Mitoma
    C) Gabriel > Dias
    D) Pedro > Alvarez
    E) Can do any two really for -4

    Estu - Chilwell - Gusto
    Salah - Bruno - Mbuemo - Eze - Saka
    Haaland - Pedro

    Turner - Gabriel - Archer - Kabore

Pedro's pretty much in at this point to cover for not having March or Mitoma, isn't really ending up well. With Alvarez's general record too (think 20 returns in 26 games could be wrong) It defo be a shout.

Bruno will start. Pedro might not. Gabriel first bench who might not start either. Get rid of one of the fires.

In your situation Pedro → Alvarez is what I would do.
