What to do with 2FT here?

    (2FT, 0.0 itb)

    Johnstone
    Chilwell/Estu/Gabriel
    Rashford/Bruno/Saka/Son/Eze
    Haaland/Watkins

    Bench: Turner, Beyer, Kabore, Osula

Maybe time to jump for obvious options like:
      1) Mbuemo, Foden, Mitoma (drop Son)
      2) If you dont have a backup defender than sell Gabriel -->Henry or Colwill

Gabriel > Saliba and carry FT?

Rashford/Bruno/Son/Eze all have question marks but they all have favourable fixtures so I think you should play them all in GW3 and make a more informed decision on them.

I’d drop a UTD mid and get one of the popular mids and upgrade your bench. Possibly go with a cheap Chelsea defender or move Gabriel to Saliba.

Yeah I’d drop him simply as he’s not wide and more expensive. I know you’ve probably been waiting for Themis game but times moving fast and points care being missed.

I'm a Jota owner myself and I am not sure he will start against Newcastle. I think we'll play Endo from the beginning and Gakpo will move upfront. It would be between Diaz and Jota on the left.

Interesting. Potential cameo, but again not likely to yield many points.

It'll be useful to see what they do, then he's an easy shift to Foden or cheaper next week.

Only 2 GWs so far. In these two, Salah has looked good enough to me to hold, while none of the players I'd sell him to afford have set the game alight

No Salah teams can easily get three players out of Rashford, Bruno, Saka, Ødegaard, Martinelli, Trent and Watkins (basically 8m+). When I feel I need more than two of these, then Salah will feel too expensive. For now, I'm fine with my lads who are 7.6m and below

I sold Rashford for Foden for GW3, so that's my route to him. Salah's racked up the xGI and has looked his normal self when playing, so I prefer that to how Rashford has looked. Bruno has looked good and unlucky, but I'm in no rush to get him with those next 3 opponents. Fine with holding Saka and I don't see many reasons to double up on Arsenal mids while Nketiah starts. Prefer Diaby to Watkins... Trent isn't even near the conversation atm

Generic question but, would you guys take a -4 for a defender even if you weren't to start them this GW, in order to stop the price drop?....(option is there to start, for this example its Gabriel to Dias)

    1. 2001: A Space Origi
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 3 months ago

Not this week as Gabriel, with Arsenal injuries is 95% sure to start...maybe next week and save the hit...

      1. Rbyrne95
        • 9 Years
        2 years, 3 months ago

See if I knew that was certain I wouldn't sell this GW. It's just because the same was said last GW about his minutes and the reason he isn't playing is 'tactical' from Arteta, not an injury.

          • 7 Years

That was true then, but not now, Tomiyasu and Timber are both out for this GW, so Gabriel will surely play, however it is not 100%, but you are not even playing the transfer, so all in all, it is easier to save 4 points and do this next week.

'logically' speaking, Foden better form, fixture and team. However, looking at Man U/Nott previous 4 fixtures, Rashford has returned 3 out of 4 games and Man U scored at least 2 every game. Just saying this to make things harder lol

Thanks all! Very good arguments for both options tbf, so gonna be a hard decision lol

Looking at it now, foden does look the more appealing over next 5 games, but if Rashford does score it becomes a different ball game.

We don't know for sure if Saka is off pens totally, but Odegaard is super reliable from the spot so they may be his for now. Saka still a top pick though, I don't think there will be much between them points wise.

You could move Watkins on to a Wissa or Jackson and Eze up to Mbuemo or Mitoma/March

Can Brighton not attackingly cause real problems for United and Liverpool defence? They even made it difficult for City last season in the FA Cup. And they are at home to Newcastle so not bad either.

Is it not a bit more nuanced than just seeing a ‘4’ or ‘5’ on the fixture ticker?

Think I'd keep Watkins. Still not completely sold on Jackson, he has good fixtures but still feels more of a gamble compared to Watkins, who should tick along points wise.

Onana + Alvarez or Ederson + Jackson? Already have Haaland and Foden so it's about the 3rd City spot.

    Please rate this team:

    Ederson Areola

    Saliba Estupinan Chilwell Akanji Gusto

    Saka Ode Mitoma Mbueno Diaz

    Haaland Wissa Isak

Or would you swap Diaz or Ode to Foden

    Or something else?!

Cracking team that! Ødegaard goes nowhere. I would consider Saka > Foden but I understand you might not want to do that.

Considered it but both those two are pretty much guaranteed starters

        Foden is awesome

(but only when he is on the pitch)

I own Jota and would only swap him for Diaz. I think Diaz is class and knows how to score!

I mean it's a great team but you will have to bench 4 of them every week!

Areola is the easiest to bench, leaving 3 spots free.

Gusto might be the next best option to bench, not 100% nailed and not proven - bit with chelseas fixtures it's a risk.

I'm not sure you would want to bench any of them midfielders, or the front 3 for that matter - I guess you can rotate wissa and mbuemo but they're two of the highest scoring FPL players so far and they've been sharing out the points nicely!

If this is a team with which u will bench boost then fair play, but I wouldn't be surprised if you regularly had 20+ points on the bench.

Saka to fodder perhaps and cash the remaining change for if any more expensive players hit a purple patch!?

He has the best options week to week and rotates as he sees fit. Decimating this squad just to have cheap bench crap and forced into transfers when key players get injured or benched is a tired way to play this game.

    Rate my team

    Ederson

    Estu Henry VVD Shaw

    Mbuemo Saka Fernandes

    Watkins Haaland Pedro

    Subs Turner Stones Benrahma Eze

Thinking Stones for either Thiago Silva or Chilwell then replacing either for Pedro

    1. TanN
      • 4 Years
      2 years, 3 months ago

Don't like VVD he's too expensive for what he offers.

Only having 3 midfielders is a waste atm

Watkins overpriced, Pedro no longer a great option I don't think.

      If this is your current team I would be tempted to use 2FT (if u have them) on these moves;

      Stones -> Saliba
      Watkins -> Jackson

Then if u want to take a hit Benrahmmy -> Foden and bench Pedro

Play Gabriel or Colwill this week?

If Colwill it would be in a Chelsea double up with Chilwell

Look at each option in isolation. Colwill more likely to start and Chelsea have the same CS % as Arsenal.

      Many people!

      It’s a coin toss

Rash could score big though he doesn’t look like he will

Foden may not even play but if he does he will probably do well

Interesting... I did think Son looked a bit better, even on the wing, and if Richi's struggles see Son move to the 9 role he could a great FPL option again soon (potentially)

Who would you add to this midfield:

    Saka Ode Mitoma Mbuemo XXXXX

    B. Foden
    C. Someone else up to £7.9m

    1. james 101

      I think the ideal midfield at the minute with a mix of punts and safe reliable picks is;

      Ode Mbuemo March Diaz Foden

*if people want to play safe then mitoma over March

    Ederson
    Chilwell, Estu, Saliba
    Salah, Odegaard, Foden, Mbeumo, Mitoma
    Haaland, Wissa

    (Areola, Henry, Gusto, Semenyo)

Lovely team! Nice balance, price points covered nicely and a strong but cheap bench.

My only slight critique would be that if Brentford goals dry up owning Mbeumo and Wissa may not be the best option in the long term to double up on - but we can't ignore their exceptional form at the minute.

If you're feeling punty March over Mitoma might be a fun option to own, equally going for a Man City defender could offer good points but owning Ederson makes this idea redundant

        • 8 Years

Thanks! Yep one of Wissa/Mbeumbo will be heading out when Brentford inevitably drop. Not sure how nailed March is and also have 0.1 tied up in Mitoma!
