So can we use the Salah -> Saudi links as an excuse to shift him out this week?

yeah i'm kinda looking for an excuse to shift him so "too busy thinking how he'll spend the inevitably extortionate salary" is probably a big distraction

With 2FT I've moved from an ultra-conservative Baldock -> Gusto onto Salah & Baldock -> Mbeumo & Chilwell.

2FT and £0.5m ITB but really sure where best to use. Sort of reposting as no response at end of last article.

    Onana
    Gabriel, Estu, Chilwell
    Salah, Bruno, Saka, Mbeumo, Mitoma
    Joao Pedro, Haaland

    (Turner, Pau, Kabore, Mubama)

I think I either lose Salah and use funds to upgrade JP or just lose Gabriel and roll:

    A. Joao Pedro to Jackson and Salah to Foden
    B. Joao Pedro to Jackson and Salah to Diaz
    C. Gabriel to Saliba & Roll
    D. Gabriel to Gvardiol & Roll
    E. Gabriel to Udogie & Roll

    Best option here?

    A) James -> Gvardiol & save FT
    B) James & Gabriel -> Gvardiol & Saliba
    C) James & Gabriel -> Diaz & 4.8 (Botman)

    Onana
    Chilwell, Estupinan, Gabriel
    Saka, Ode, Bruno, Rash, Foden
    Haaland, Pedro

    Turner, Usola, Baldock, James

So basically, Bruno is good but Mbuemo is better, so hold Bruno because Mbuemo is only better because Brentford are getting pens & United are not.

Yeah, I was being a tit, United look dreadful, Brentford & Brighton look so much better, the only reason you'd shout loudly about holding on to them in a week when most teams have amazing fixs & good point potential is because you don't have the FTs to fix them with other fires to put out first.

Bruno has had great stats for over a year now, people aren't basing it on 2 GWs.

On your wildcard, have you considered Martinez?

A switch to Raya from him or the Man Utd keeper could also be prudent but that favours a later wildcard.

Arsenal is not great offensively either so far.

Only a penalty that was wasn't. If Jesus comes back soon, that changes very quickly

Fulham is the money game, score 3 or 4 in that & narratives will change quickly.

Forest have the 'second best defence in the league' & Selhurst is a tough away ground, went down to 10 which didn't help.

Fulham, United, Everton, Spurs, there's goals in those.

yep, never a sending-off, never a penalty. It was a dull affair

Yes Fulham, United, Everton defensively are awful. Was surprised Spurs defended well, but that was because Utided looked toothless.

Forest have statistically one of the best defences in the league so far because you were poor offensively, not the other way round.

Not really. Arsenal faced two opponents who sat in a low block. And you're taking a two-game sample size when Arsenal scored 30 goals more than United last season.

I’m just stating facts mate, interpret them as you want, but it’s obvious that both United and Arsenal are playing different systems this season, so last season’s stats mean very little.

Palace didnt play a low block. They just dont let teams attack them through the middle.

Nketiah makes it tough for Martinelli/Saka IMO.

                      Jesus get everyone involved.

Wolves is easier than Forest though based on last weekend, and Spurs were not great at the back against Brentford.

MAn Utd need a no.9, they look pretty toothless otherwise

Spurs are a mid table team. If they were playing CL football, Kane would have been replaced easily with another top forward. Now they have to rely on signing players like Brennan Johnson.

Liverpool minimum aim this season is CL football and require Salah to help them get there. The money from the Salah sale can buy the best of the best.

Personally I have two 4m defenders, so leaning on the 'safest' long term option of Dias and the Gabriel uncertainty feels like an opportunity given they are relatively low owned.

Regarding Odegaard on penalties. Someone mentioned during the community sheild that Arsenal usually send out their designated penalty taker first, and that was Odegaard. I'm not so sure Saka has penalties anymore at all.

        That's a good point.

So this line it was a conversation between the players and Saka tossed him the ball is probably to take away media headlines about Saka losing penalty kicks?

Is Ødegaard now that bit better than Saka in FPL? Monday's scores show the effect.

not much love for Kyle Walker.
More nailed then the rest of the city defence. Ake,Akanji & Lewis will rotate LB. Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol will rotate at CB. Walker will play majority of games as the only natural Right Back

Dias is the fulcrum in my view, but I appreciate everyone has their own take on the City defence.

Walker has been good and a little overlooked. One would assume Doku/Bernardo returning to offer width options on the right means he's a bit riskier from GW4-5 but anyone's guess.

Yeah, Stones returning is just more roulette. If I do get a City Defender it would be Ederson. With him you know there are no surprises but he is such a boring pick. In fact, with Cancelo gone, none of the City defenders are screaming at me.

You just have to look at the FPL history of City defenders under Pep. They never end up as the highest scoring defenders and struggle to reach a 100 points.

Current WC draft… struggling on 3rd striker and what to do in defence:

    Edersen,
    Chilwell, Saliba, Estu
    Rashford, Foden, Mbeumo, Odegaard
    Haaland, Jackson, Watkins

    (Areola, Henry, gusto, sarr)

    0.8 ITB

    Question marks:

Edersen keeper? Blocks a 3rd city attacker but surely the most bailed route into the city def

Downgrade Henry and save up funds for tripper gw5 onward?

Plan to swap Rashford gw4 for Diaz or Jota

Mine similar. Saka,Wissa, Alvarez instead of Foden, Watkins, Jackson

Fabrizio Romano just reported that the reason why Salah is thinking about the Saudi deal is because they offered him twice the amount of money that they offered him at the start of the month, I am guessing we are talking about an astronomical figure.

And he said that Salah's agents inquired about the deal to Saudi and Liverpool said no because they want to keep him.

Basically I did Bruno + Gabriel + Pedro -> Foden + Udogie + Jackson (-4) and I’m starting to regret it now. However I’m happy with the rest of my team so I decided on selling Bruno rather than Salah and loads of unspent money ITB. My team:
        Johnstone
        Udogie Chilwell Estupinian
        Salah Saka Martinelli Foden Mbeumo
        Haaland Jackson
        Thoughts?

This whole thing about 'having cash from not owning Salah' is a bit of a red herring fallacy.

I still have 1.0m left in the bank owning Haaland and Salah.

Palace dont conceed many, but could. 4 games against Brentford 2x0-0 2x 1-1

James is out for a while

      Why Sterling, Richarlison and Son?

You're missing Mbeumo and one of Foden or Alvarez.

Brighton players will probably remain good value and scoring options, despite fixtures.

    Johnstone (Turner)
    Estu, Chilwell, Saliba (Gusto, Kabore)
    *Salah, Rashford, Saka, Maddison, Eze
    Haaland, Pedro, (Archer)

    A. Salah to Foden and Archer to 1,2,3 (bench Madders if out). https://twitter.com/pokeefe1/status/1693956223656186035
B Rashford to Foden (play Gusto if Madders is out). Roll other Transfer

    1 Isak
    2. Alvarez
    3. Jackson

    * I may reverse Salah to a Diaz/Jota next week (not because of transfer rumours, but my plan was to capt Salah GW2 and sell to free up funds)

If you have both Salah and Bruno and you want to get Foden in, but you are completely happy with the rest of your team (you don’t need any extra money ITB), who would you keep? I’m leaning towards Salah, I think that he will outscore Bruno in the long/medium term.

Any Liverpool mid will outscore Bruno . But i think Diaz and Jota may outscore Salah. They are certainly not worse pick IMO

Salah is proven for 5+ years and always scores, that is not going to change this season!
Bruno will score, but I don't think he will outscore Salah in the next 5-8 GW's personally
