Might be a red arrow for me this GW with no Sterling or Maddison, but sure feels good to have 2FTs during the international break.

I resisted the urge to do Mitoma to Maddison yesterday so I could bank 2ft post int break, like yourself.

Who knows with Everton, they’re really comical in their decisions these days.

My main worry for them is if Dyche can’t make you tough to beat, no one can.

Maybe it’s time they stopped swirling the toilet bowl and went down a season for a reality check.

  6. Silecro

Doucoure playing striker. I mean I know Dyche is defensive minded manager and all that, but this lineup is some next level sh**

They have Beto and Danjuma. He won't be playing upfront. It looks like a classic Dyche 4-4-2.

It's a sorry state of affairs. I know loads of Evertonians. The sense of optimism they had when Moshiri bought the club and started spending money was huge. Poor sods.

Yeah true, we had players like Tony Cascarino who qualified to play through the "Granny" rule. I think it emerged after he retired that his granny wasn't actually Irish.

Big Jack will always be a legend in Ireland. Took us to our first two World Cups and Euro '88.

Yeah Paul McGrath's defensive performance against Italy is up there with the greatest defensive displays ever. He marked Baggio out of the game and blocked so many shots. It's a pity we don't have players like that anymore but Ferguson looks promising.

It was a good Dutch side too with Bergkamp, Overmars, Rijkard etc. It would get even better over the next few years with players from the Ajax 95 Campion's League winning team emerging.

It used to give me a good laugh when the commentator said Stan Valckx's name. His surname is a bad word in Ireland. Good times!

Yeah, another one that got away, the '94 edition.

                  Added to the 74, 78, 2010 and 2014 near misses 🙂

Hope you win it soon, I've always liked the style of football you play and I don't see Ireland winning anything any time soon!

It's getting statistically more likely, not sure about realistically 🙂

Holland are the Colin Montgomery of football.

😆 you shouldn't be comparing yourself to Colin Montgomery! Montgomery is insufferable, the Dutch are not!

I cried with frustration at the end of the 78 final. Seems so unfair that a talented nation has only that solitary Euro success.

94 World Cup was the one where I watched nearly every game, what a tournament. I was 13 at the time. Seeing Stoichkov with Bulgaria, Hagi with Romania, Valderrama with Colombia, Romario with Brasil and Baggio with Italy always stuck in my mind. And the Dutch team as a whole I will always remember. I think like you say because the nucleus of the team went on to win the CL with Ajax in 95’.

Agree, brilliant tournament. 40+ degrees and day-time matches

Yes they don't really make number 10s like Hagi and Stoichkov anymore!

That was the match where I stopped understanding offside rule changes. Dutch defence was distracted by Romario being offside, so slow to react to Bebeto.

I see there was also a Beto who played in the Benfica team that beat United in the CL group stage in 2005, scoring the winner. Lots of Betos it seems.

What a crazy season, we can afford anyone we want, never seen anything like it.

In a WC who would you leave out?

    Sterling
    Maddison
    Saka
    Bruno
    Salah
    Rashford
    Mbeumo
    Foden

I don't wosh this on anyone but can Patterson get an injury because Dyche won't drop him.

Typically there's only 3 or 4 clean sheets in a weekend.

On paper this looks like it could be an exception with defensive points to be had.
