England take on Slovenia on Tuesday, while Denmark and Serbia clash in Group C’s other match.

The Three Lions, who have already secured a spot in the last-16, are the favourites to win the group, but Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia can all mathematically progress, so it’s all to play for.

Both matches get underway at 20:00 BST.

2Denmark20202202
3Slovenia20202202
4Serbia201112-11

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been demoted to the England bench for their clash with Slovenia.

Conor Gallagher replaces the Liverpool man, in Gareth Southgate’s only change from the 1-1 draw with Denmark.

Only five defenders in Euro 2024 Fantasy have a higher ownership than Alexander-Arnold’s 22%.

Luke Shaw is back on the substitutes bench, meanwhile.

As for Slovenia, they are unchanged.

There is just one change to the Denmark side who drew with England. Victor Kristiansen drops to the bench, with Alexander Bah coming into the line-up.

That means Joakim Maehle, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund all start.

Finally, there are three alterations for Serbia.

Srdan Mijailovic, Nemanja Gudelj and Lazar Samardzic replace Filip Mladenovic, Dusan Tadic and Dusan Vlahovic.

LINE-UPS

England XI: Pickford, Walker, Stones, Guehi, Trippier, Gallagher, Rice, Saka, Bellingham, Foden, Kane

Slovenia XI: Oblak, Karnicnik, Drkusic, Bijol, Janza, Stojanovic, Cerin, Elsnik, Mlakar, Sporar, Sesko

Denmark XI: Schmeichel, Andersen, Christiansen, Vestergaard, Bah, Hjulmand, Hojbjerg, Maehle, Eriksen, Wind, Hojlund

Serbia XI: Rajkovic, Veljkovic, Milenkovic, Pavlovic, Mijailovic, Ilic, Gudelj, Zivkovic, Samardzic, Lukic, Mitrovic

          Watkins - Kane - Saka
          Foden - Palmer - Bellingham
          Gordon - Wharton - Mainoo - Bowen
          Walker

No, it's with regard to Trippier not being able to replicate what Shaw did in this team as he has to keep cutting back onto his right and Saka having played left back previously.

No one said Palmer could 'save us' that's simply hyperbole on your part. What he does offer is an opportunity to put Saka at left back and play one of last season's best players in the most competitive league in the world.

And it wasn't one good season, he's barley played before. It was an amazing debut season.

Point is your forcing performers out of position to accommodate players who have never done anything.

Foden, Bellingham, Kane and Palmer all crammed in the middle with a right-winger playing left-back - genius.

          1. Bartowski
            • 15 Years
            1 year, 9 months ago

We've already got a player out of position with Trippier playing left back.

Palmer would be playing in Saka's position obviously which was his most consistent position for Chelsea last season.

Not sure where you're getting the idea that this leads to everyone being crammed in the middle.

And just saying the words 'comical' or 'genius' at the end of your posts doesn't make them any more definitive I'm afraid.

            1. x.jim.x
              • 11 Years

That’s unavoidable due to Southgate’s poor team planning unfortunately.

I’m getting the idea of Palmer drifting inside from the fact that he always drifts in behind the striker and mainly operates in the 10, not hugging the touchline.

Would make more sense if you were begging for Bowen, but this is just another Grealish situation where fans pin their hope on the new flavour of the month.

I'm not 'begging' that's more obnoxious hyperbole on your part. You've just changed the part of your post where you try it on.

Those players mentioned are good, but not in the same category of their predecessors.
Virtually every team is setup the same in 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation, and tries to play like Pep, whilst trying to maintain possession at all costs.

With all due respect, you can't put Bellingham or Vini Jr's name next to Neymar - they are not even close to being in the same league.

            Let's see, time will tell.
Jude is a top athlete, strong mentality, it's his physical qualities that makes him great.
He's not in the same mould of Scholes or Riquelme who were great passers and more talented, which isn't necessarily inferior as such but different.

football finds a way to reinvent itself. once teams start having success away from the pointless 5 yard passing tactics teams will quickly move on from it

I was just gonna just make the same comment. But some here think he is ballon d or winner.. perhaps he will shine again vs almeria Cadiz and getafe or union berlin in ucl and score those last minute winners vs them.

Ah now, come on. La Liga player of the year. La Liga title. Champions league title. 20 years old! He is a class act already with many years ahead of him. England playing crap as a whole is not the 20 year olds fault

True but then don't overhype him.

Should have gone with him as C over Kane... was between the 2, went with the boring pick in Kane.

Thought Southgate "the social magician" fixed that? That's all they talk about when mentioning him, how he has brought them together and created a great atmosphere and bla bla. Something the golden generation never could

England are still favourites according to bookies odds... presumably because as it stands they are in the easy half of the draw

A yellow card is not the bijol and endol

  25. jacob1989

Wow. As things stand, Denmark and Slovenia have same pts, same goal difference, same goals scored and same no of yellow cards!
Who gets booked more will finish 3rd.. if it stays same then it goes to higher ranked team looks like
