It's worth noting that West Ham will likely be much stronger defensively this season. They've already splashed out £40m on Kilman and are strongly linked with Kante.
They could have a solid spine with 2 from Kilman / Aguerd / Zouma / Mavropanos being protect by Alvarez and Kante.

West Ham have reached an agreement with Crysencio Summerville on personal terms.

The player said yes to contract and project.

The figures suggest Matz Sels was awful in goal so no wonder NFO brought in a new GK.
Only 1 CS in 16 starts and only 37 saves in total. Save percentage = 58% which has to be the worst in the PL last season.

If Carlos Miguel is half decent then expect NFO to get a dozen clean-sheets.

I was team Salah in every one of my drafts. However, due to flexibility in the case where Haaland is better value than Salah (entirely possible) and that I think in the short term Haaland+Szoboszlai could be better than Watkins+Salah, I've decided to try the Haaland route first and hell be my GW2 captain

I absolutely love this draft. Wanted to focus on early fixtures and making sure I got the key talisman for the teams that have the easier fixtures to begin.

    Pope (Fabianski)
    TAA Gvardiol Burn (Barco, Harwood-Bellis)
    Son Fernandes Eze Hudson-Odoi (Rogers)
    Haaland Isak Wood

Only temptation I have is to maybe downgrade Pope to Carlos Miguel and Rogers to a 4.5 mid to upgrade Hudson-Odoi to Nkunku. It’s fairly tempting, interested to know what the thoughts are on it. I’m very bullish on Hudson-Odoi but Nkunku has fantastic fixtures after GW1.

literally just delving into this... I think there's a strong case

He played 32 games. His PPM was 4.2 so had he played 38 he should have had 25 more points (4.2 x 6) so there should have been a total of 160 points

Cheaper goalies will struggle for bonus without clean sheets

Arsenal defence even stronger and he's locked at 5.5

      1. hassanh0081

I think they are also trying to get rid of Ramsdale, which would make Raya nailed on in my opinion

          good to know

the goalie area is such an interesting one. I've had cheap 4.5 goalies in the best and it's been miserable. Predicting those 4.5 breakouts are really difficult. Even those that started with Pickford ended up missing his points last season as he came good beyond that early phase

still toying with it as are many

I have him in my current draft, however I am sure I read that he only faced something like 64 shots for the whole of last season. So whilst he is a solid pick in terms of clean sheets, he'll get very few, if any save points

As the seasons go on, there are less and less clean sheets occurring in the Prem due to factors like extra time and more attack focused teams. I would ease off the backline and focus more on Mids and maybe get a Watkins or Haaland up front because the points lie in attack

Maybe too early to tell at the minute given Trippier rumours and Kelly not playing in preseason yet.

At the minute, I'd say Burn is the most nailed, but a decent chance that Livra and/or Hall are starters. All three have looked decent in the two preseason friendlies I've watched.

When push comes to shove, is he going to get reliable minutes? His output in the early preseason is eye catching, but will he get regular minutes when the games start to count? It would be tough to put him in a starting lineup and swallow a string of one point cameos.

To me, a 5.0m mid is a guy you plan on keeping stapled to the bench with the exception of a few tasty home fixtures where you *might* think about using him. Otherwise you want a more reliable minutes guy because he's essentially an "in case of emergency, break glass" kind of guy . . . you need him to be playing in those unpredictable instances when you get down to B2.

The preseason projections got me digging around to see if I can get a handle on whether there's an attacking midfield with regular minutes among the promoted clubs. Southampton seems to have some interesting options if one can get a handle on what the starting XI might look like.

I just surrendered to the flow and went with Harry Winks at 4.5 with the assumption that he'll look good waving a towel on the bench. The 0.5 can go towards an asset I see myself using.

I think he will start most yes given Diaby has left, I think he also started the remaining games back end of last season.

Tricky because to get the Salah & Haaland team I want he would have to start every game.

One thing giving me hope is the fact Palmer was 5.0 last season so you never know.

I'm on S&H right now and the salary slot we're talking about is my eighth attacker, so it was a lot easier to let go and drop to 4.5. Felt like the extra 0.5 could give me points cover more effectively on the back line. I felt a lot happier rolling the 5.0 dice on the Gusto/Reece James question.

Of course, if Joao Pedro and/or Muniz go belly up I'm starting the season holding a lit stick of dynamite.

I (naively?) don't get too focused on one game week. Especially if I'm trying to put together a lineup that accommodates S&H, I wanted to put something together that had a more "set it and forget it" kind of feeling to it.

Ideally I won't be making any moves for the first four weeks or so and will accumulate enough transfers if I need to change plans because somebody isn't getting the minutes I thought they would get.

I'm a big believer in the idea that if somebody is getting the minutes that they will end up being the player that they've always been. I just don't see the wisdom in putting together an overall squad I like a lot less in order to shoehorn in a guy with a good single fixture.

but I'm not a perennial top 100k guy, so what I know about this silly game can fill the back of a postage stamp.

If you think Munoz + Mitchell can get 140, why aren't they in more teams

5 cs in 13 back end of last season, should be good for 10 this season at least no? maybe even 12-14

Both got really good underlying attacking stats, Mitchell 1g+1a, Munoz 4a in Glasner period

so 76 appearance pts, 40 cs, 20+ from attacking returns (around 6 each), 10-ish bonus, -6 for yc-ish = 140-ish. For reference Gabriel and Saliba were only 149 and 164 in standout season and were staples for 5mil last season. A bumper season for g+a or more cs and they could even surpass Saliba (38 games last year)

    feel this pair are underappreciated

For the foreseeable future he means until Darwin and Gakpo are back from holiday.

      Found the article.

‘At the moment we don't have a No 9 (Darwin Nunez is still on holiday) as you could see in the last game. I assume that for the foreseeable future that's where I am going to play. But he knows and I know that I can play a part in the attack on the wing or in the centre.’

    Which option?

    1. Salah + Havertz + Castagne + Emerson
    2. Saka + Gakpo + Gabriel + Gvardiol

2 but not sure how much I rate Gakpo. He doesn't seem particularly explosive or prolific

Does anyone use the Fantasy Football Hub 'rate my team' tool? If so, what's the highest score you've got?

Last season, the team it rated 100% got around 50points for the first 3 weeks. I wouldn't trust those things too much.

Which would you choose? Both in XI:

    1) Isak & Rogers
    2) Muniz & Gordon

    Thanks

Dang... fraud attempts are getting so sophisticated nowadays they're *almost* undetectable...

Not for sharp eyed individuals though. Well spotted sir
