Wait, just tuned in for the chip.
Makes sense to play it somewhere that involves a DGW right? So BB and TC lose value?

      Salah triple captain 24/25
      Manager 31 - dgw 33
      Then wildcard and bb

      Free hit in a blank

Free hit is more powerful than BB.....I would play FH in a DGW..... remember last season.....I was one of those who used FH in 34 with Eze and Mateta and that sky rocketed my rank....I would play BB in a single GW but definitely FH in double

Doesn't it block out a player team slot for a double (or whenever you use it)? Surely the extra player will score than a manager?

That's why you play it on someone like Palace, because you wont want 3 players.

I dunno. Strip back the complicatiing bits and in its simplest form it mainly rewards wins. If Palace had 4 games (in a double) they'll do well to win 1 of them

Think Liverpool is fine. Salah, Trent & Slot.

Impossible to pick attackers beside Salah & could do Slot over VVD & use money on other DGW players

Double GWs towards the end of the season for a team fighting relegation and playing against teams that are already on the beach could work!

          Arteta hasn’t said anything

Gabriel has been a player that plays every game for years, gets punched in the head and is suddenly out for a few games. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was concussion

He also was in a video heading into the training ground I think

Arteta has previously been guarded on the Brazilian’s absence - which has seen him miss the last two games - but has now confirmed it is due to a muscle problem.

“Big Gabi has not had a muscular injury [before, but] he is playing a lot now, he is travelling, going to Brazil, he is a starter with Brazil,” said Arteta.

Only just found out about the "Mystery Chip"
Initial reaction is I hate it
So for 3 of the final 14 weeks no other chip can be played alongside it
Anyone who had any "prior knowledge" of this chip would have played BB ,TC & FH to free up available space
The chip has nothing to do with the game which is about selecting players not manager or teams

Why not reveal it prior to start of the season? It arbitrarily favours people like me who played some of their other chips already and punishes those who have held on to them in terms of when they can deploy them.

It brings a new element into the game with just over 1/3 of the games left
Should have been within the basic game framework

In terms of chip congestion it's even worse than I anticipated. Successfully played TCGW2 in anticipation of this, but would have given serious consideration of a BBGW1 if I'd known MC would tied up three GW.

I don't like this new chip.

The potential points it can bring is too high. Im normally good at this game but I'm 1.8m this year and 80 points behind my mini league leader.

I want to catch him fairly. Not just sticking this chip on the new Wolves manager and claiming 100 odd points.

Makes everything that has happened before fairly pointless.

Yea, that just occurred to me to. This chip is maybe going to win mini-leagues. It has more point potential than both TC and BB.

That might be annoying if you lose because of this chip.

Someone could potentially win or lose the whole competition because of this "new rule"
This wasn't in the T's & C's when they entered.
Changing the rules 2/3 of the way into a competition
        It stinks !

Well we knew a new chip was coming, and technically any chip can change the outcome of the end result.
But it is a bit concerning that this could have a huge point potential.

I will call it now, we wont see this chip next season.

      3 game weeks:

      3 wins = 18
      3 clean sheets = 6
      3 goals per game = 9
Let’s say zero for the 5 places higher nonsense

That’s max 33 points. Definitely better than free hit you’d think? Given most will play in same blank week for example

Its very early, but I think I will aim at an underperforming team, for example if we had it right now and there was a double, spurs, palace, or newcastle. Probably not spurs, too inconsistent.

If you use it on someone like Pool, you wont have 3 players for the double. I wont want 3 players from those above teams.

Depends what fixtures they have though, and how the table looks at that time.

I have a follow up q but its related. You have to lock it in for 3 weeks? Does that 5 place thing apply for all 3 games from the 1st game of the chip or does it reset each individual gw? What I'm getting at is you may target 3 fixtures above you but by fixture 3 you will probably be above that team if the first two went the way you hoped. In which case the 5 place bonus bit cannot be planned really.

Timber. The money saved will come in useful at some stage down the line

Might only have one starting defender and they’re away at Anfield this week.

    Gabriel Robinson *Lewis Faes Greaves

    Best combo for this GW?

    A - Johnson and Cunha
    B - Isak and Rogers/Amad/Aina

Have 2FT and contemplating if it's worth doing Johnson and Cunha to Isak and Amad for this week. It's the move I would have likely done next week anyway

With absolutely no idea when Gab will be back, Timber in my side and 1 FT, do you think Gab to TAA is a sound move? Or go for VVD as the safer, cheaper option?

Yeah, you need a transfer. Trent might miss a game at some point, but is nailed generally speaking. Van Dijk, though, is ultra-nailed, it's up to you.

Yes, get in TAA. That's what I'm doing. A added bonus to doing this for my side is I can then sell Flekken for Raya the following week.

How is Timber close to a price rise?

Good to see Merino, Rice and Odegaard all start together, let's see if it helps Arsenal's form in front of goal tonight.

Got 2.7m in the bank having already made a transfer. Is Pau > Trent worth a hit or should I leave it?

    Raya
    Ait Nouri, Colwill, Konsa
    Salah, Palmer, Saka, Semenyo
    Jackson, Cunha, Pedro

    Fabianski, Rogers, Pau, Davis
