Ahead of Gameweek 4 of Fantasy EFL, which sees all 72 sides in action once again with no Double Gameweek in store, we’ve taken a look at the current EFL clubs who have won all of their opening fixtures, and who they face in the upcoming Gameweek.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Three sides in the second tier of English football have recorded two straight wins.

Middlesbrough

Fantasy EFL Double Gameweek 8 inbound!

Life in the Championship has been superb for Rob Edwards, who took over after Michael Carrick was sacked. This success follows a fairly average start in pre-season.

Despite losing several key players, including Rav van den Berg (D) and loanees Kelechi Iheanacho (F) and Samuel Illing-Junior (F), the team have recruited wisely, bringing in the likes of Callum Britain (D) and Alfie Jones (D), proven Championship players, to bolster their squad.

Dael Fry’s (D) game-winning goal earned him 15 points, securing a 1-0 victory over Swansea City in Boro’s Championship opener.

They followed that up with an impressive 3-0 win against Millwall. Hayden Hackney (M) scored the first goal, his first double-digit score of the season, and Jones shone with a 15-point haul, scoring the second of the afternoon.

However, a low point for them was a 4-0 loss to League One side Doncaster Rovers (H) in the first round of the Carabao Cup, in between Championship matches. D

Despite fielding six first-team players against a fully rotated Doncaster squad, it was a terrible result. Nevertheless, they’ve earned 18 points to sit joint-first in the division alongside the next club we’ll discuss.

They take on Norwich City (A) in Gameweek 4.

Stoke City

After a mixed pre-season, the sale of key midfielder Wouter Burger (M), and a disappointing previous season where they finished just two points above the drop zone in 18th place, something has noticeably shifted at the bet365 Stadium.

They’ve recruited brilliantly, including Maskym Taloverov (D) and Sorba Thomas (M) from former EFL sides, while bringing in former Premier League stars Aaron Cresswell (D) and Steven Nzonzi (M) to name but a few.

After their first three matches, the Potters have had an impressive start to the season under new manager Mark Robins. They’ve earned a total of 18 points so far.

In their season opener, they secured a 3-1 victory against Derby County, with goals from Lewis Baker (M) and Sorba Thomas (M), as well as Divin Mubama (F).

They continued their strong form with a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, thanks to two goals from Million Manhoef (F). Thomas shone again with two assists.

Their next match against Southampton will likely be their toughest test yet. However, the change in the team’s performance under Robins is undeniable.

West Brom

Although many questioned the decision to appoint Ryan Mason, he has silenced those critics after a turbulent season with three different managers last year.

The Baggies started strong with a 1-0 home win against Blackburn Rovers, with Isaac Price (M) scoring the only goal.

Price continued his impressive form, scoring a brace in their 3-2 away win over Wrexham, with Jed Wallace (M) adding another goal. This marks the first time since the 17/18 season that the team has won its first two games.

Isaac Price’s (M) stellar start to the season has him tied for the third-highest-scoring player in the overall game with 30 points, leaving Nat Phillips’s (D) 12 points far behind.

The team will look to continue their momentum in Gameweek 4 as they welcome Portsmouth to The Hawthorns. They did the double over Pompey last season, including a dominant 5-1 victory at home.

LEAGUE ONE

Stevenage

Only one side has had the perfect start in the third tier: the Boro.

Alex Revell’s side finished 14th last season and were the third-lowest scorers in the division, although they did only concede 50. Another noticeable transformation.

Now, through four matches, they’ve kept two clean sheets, and the offence is firing on all cylinders.

Jamie Reid (F) is leading the charge with 39 points, scoring five goals in four games.

Charlie Goode (D) has also been in strong form, delivering at least six clearances in all four matches so far.

A tricky test away at Huddersfield Town in Gameweek 4 awaits, however.

LEAGUE TWO

Crewe Alexandra

Fantasy EFL Gameweek 2: Scout Notes 2

The Railwaymen made it three consecutive league wins to open their campaign for the first time since 1994/95, defeating Salford (A), Accrington (H) and Crawley (H).

They followed that up with a thumping 4-1 win over Fleetwood (A) in midweek.

Club captain and Fantasy EFL royalty Mickey Demetriou (D) sits on 27 points, while new talisman Josh March (F) has a joint-team-best 36, with five assists in four games. Reece Hutchinson (D) is also on 36 after two goals in the opening three Gameweeks.

They go on the road to Priestfield Stadium to face Gillingham in Gameweek 4.

How does it match up with FEFL club points?

Crewe and Stevenage are, unsurprisingly, also the top clubs in Fantasy EFL, with 36 and 34 points respectively.

The fact that Championship clubs have played one less match adds context to the EFL standings, where second-tier teams have had fewer opportunities to collect points.

Middlesbrough and Stoke lie joint-top with 18.
