      Seems fine.

I probably wouldn't do Pulisic > Saibari. I like Pulisic for this round. I'd rather do like Konsa out.

With heavy heart but Diaz must go. I can do Quinoses Diaz instead Manzambi Oyarazabal but that is 2+ transfers next week if Col is out.

    Freese Martinez
    Dest Cucu Hakimi Munoz Molina
    Vini Dembele Olise Manzambi Saibari
    Mbappe Messi Oyarzabal

Playing clean shield boost since I dont have cs heavy defence. Going Hakimi as 1st C over Saibari

For Mexico I agree, but Portugal I dont see any. Even if they pass through Spain there are better options.

Mendes in def is a good buy
Scored in Nations final vs Spain
If they beat Spain they get USA/Bel...nothing wrong with that

Its easy swap Spain assets to Portugal assets if that happens. I just cant see them go through Spain and it s too much risk imo to not have Spa cover.

I think from the QFs onwards is where you might want to commit to a path to finals. For now, just take the good fixtures still. France vs Paraguay and Argentina vs Egypt are obvious to target.

My rank is crap - no point going where everyone else is going
We all have Mbappe, Olise, Messi, Argies in def(me too)

Treating myself to a "differential" or 2 in Def/Mf

I would go Haaland. That game is one I dont agree with bookies that Bra is clear favorites. Everything goes through him and if Norway scores he is involved. Plus he will play until penalty shootouts.

England play awful and I think that Mexico will win this one.

Yamal, you are covered with Oyarzabal, no need to ge there.

Thanks for the detailed response. Good point on Yamal. (Possible blindly) I have just slightly more faith in Kane than I do in Haaland, though admittedly it could back fire.
        12th man is on Kane.

you have more options to move(c) this round. It becomes less likely you pick highest player later on. Messi vs Mbappe for example

I want to figure out which round is best to use the CS shield on. It was pretty obvious that Qual Booster was best in Ro32 but the CS shield is more debatable. Plus it also applies for midfielders so there could be quite a lot of points to gain if you use it in a round where it protects a bunch of cleanies.

I looked at all the world cups going back to 2010 and saw how often the CS shield would have helped and which round was the cagiest from Ro16 onwards.
Basically I'm looking to see where teams conceded exactly 1 goal that would count as a CS with the shield.

    2010
Ro16 - 2.75 goals/match. CS shield would have saved 5 CSs all for the favorites that progressed.
QF - 2.5 goals/match. CS shield would have saved 4 of them.
SF - 3.5 goals/match. CS shield would have saved just 1.
Final - Spain 1-0 over Netherlands

    2014
    Ro16 -

I think my defence is weak for this round(2 Americans 0 French) so I’m playing the chip and hoping for the best. If I had an all Argentinian and French defence I wouldn’t play it. I’ve got no idea if that is sensible logic or not lol.

I guess team formation has some bearing on the CS shield consideration too.

      2014
      Ro16 - 2.25 goals/match. Shield saves 8.
      QF - 1.25 goals/match. Shield saves 3.
SF - Germany 7-1 lol. The other game was a 0-0
      Final - Germany 1-0 Argentina

      2018
      Ro16 - 2.63 goals/match. Shield saves 8
      QF - 2.75 goals/match. Shield saves 1.
      SF - 2 goals/match. Shield saves 2.
      Final - France - Croatia 4-2

      2022
      Ro16 - 3.5 goals/match (inflated because of Portugal 6-1 Switzerland). Shield saves 7.
      QF - 2.5 goals/match. Shield saves 4.
      SF - 2.5 goals/match. Shield saves 0.
      Final - Argentina - France 3-3

Okay so the raw numbers don't tell us that much. What I really want to know is when you back a favorite. How often do they lose the clean sheet by exactly 1 goal when they win and progress?

      Ro16
2010 - All solid favorites progressed. 5/7 of those games were won X-1. 2 of them were won with a cleanie. 1 close game unlikely to draw much fantasy interest (think Belgium-USA or Switzerland-Ghana from this year's Ro16 examples).
2014 - 4/7 where CS shield works. 3 of them won to 0.
2018 - The Ro16 in this tournament were pretty evenly matched. I'd say maybe 4 games with a clear favorite for fantasy interest. 2/4 where CS shield would've been useful.
      2022 - 5/7 where CS shield would've been relevant.

      QF
2010 - Of the favorites, only 1/4 matches would the CS shield have been useful (when a favorite concedes a single goal)
2014 - I'd say 2/4 matches where the CS shield would've been useful.
2018 - 0/4. Belgium beat Brazil 2-1 but I don't imagine people would be heavily invested in Belgian defenders.
2022 - 3/4. Would have saved CSs for France, Brazil and Portugal who were favored.

      SF
      2010 - 0-2
2014 - 1/2 (assuming you went German defenders in the 7-1)
2018 - 0/2 (depends if you went Croatian defenders vs England)
      2022 - 0/2

      Final
      2010 - Shield saves 1 CS (1-0)
      2014 - Shield saves 1 CS (1-0)
      2018 - Shield is useless
      2022- Shield is useless

I think my conclusion is basically. Use it in Ro16. The favorites usually progress and when they do they often concede 1 goal while doing so. I expected QFs to be tighter and for the CS Shield to be more relevant but the findings don't really support that especially when considering pre-match favorites. They often just win to 0 in the latter stages of the tournament anyway or else the game is a high scoring like 3-2 or something.
