With the European qualifying now all but put to bed, the limelight can shine back on the domestic front and that means we’ve another opportunity to take on our friends at Paddy Power over some Fantasy fuelled markets in the “Fantasy Flutter”…

Derived from the Scout Picks, this week’s markets sport the familiar faces of David Silva, Jose Bosingwa and Victor Moses, accompanied by the much discussed “Robin Van Persie option”. Read on to find how our £10 stakes splits between them, and how much we risk on this weeks long-shot “Sleeper Special”.

Although absent from Man City’s score sheet for the last few weeks, no one could deny David Silva has been at the heart of all that is good about City this year, and will be hungry for more goals after his brace against the Scots. Silva’s creative play has earned him respect with neutrals and Fantasy managers alike, topping the midfield rankings thus far this season. Paddy post good odds on him to score at 6/4 and doubled up with an assist at 7/1, but the real value lies with an assist and not to be booked at 15/8. Making five assists in his last four and featuring only for goals in the ref’s book, this might well be the pick of the week, and easily justifies £4.

If you care to dip into the stats, a couple of Fantasy points near every week since the start of the season fails to rain glory down on Wigan’s Victor Moses. He’s got goals in him though, as he once proved at Crystal Palace, but neither he or Roberto Martinez’s side have found gear so far this campaign. If Wigan take anything away from visiting Bolton, Moses will surely play his role, making Paddy’s odds of 5/2 to score anytime worth a quid.

Jose Bosingwa will be fresh faced when Everton visit the Bridge on Saturday and Paddy have drawn up a true defenders market for Jose, not to be booked and to keep a clean-sheet at evens. Although perhaps not the wildest potential returns, Everton’s attacking threat is dulled by injury doubts hanging over Tim Cahill and Leon Osman – a restrained £2 on Bosingwa seems ample for a bit of interest then.

Robin Van Persie seems to epitomise Arsenal this season. His quality outings have earned him a goal threat level only second to that of Wayne Rooney, yet he has only managed to find the net in two of the seven games he’s taken part in. Arsenal seem to be making the incisive runs and tidy passing they’ve always done, but still languish down in fifteenth, only a point above their weekend opponents, Sunderland. With a makeshift defence lining up for the Black Cats, Arsenal will run the channels and present Van Persie plenty of opportunity. If a goal bonanza is on the cards, RVP to score in each half at 13/2 for £2 could be a risk worth taking.

Our accumulator this week is admittedly a long shot, but has all the makings of a pound well spent. Victor Moses, Adel Taarabt and Peter Odemwingie have all shone within their teams, but not quite enough to be big earners in the Fantasy terms. Paddy are offering a big 28/1 for the sleeping trio to wake up and all make their mark with goals; this claims our final £1 stake this week.

Money Back Specials!

In what Paddy describes as an Epic Money Back Special, if Luis Suarez scores against United in Saturday’s early kick-off, Paddy will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

They’re also offering similar specials on the matches between City and Villa, Chelsea and Everton and Newcastle and Spurs.

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

    Vorm
    Kompany Enrique NTaylor
    Silva Mata Walcott Dyer
    Rooney (c) Suarez Dzeko
    Subs: Given Simpson Brown Surman

    2 frees, but nothing pressing.
May just do Surman to Tiote, it's not glamorous, but I don't want to waste a transfer.

    Whatcha guys think?

No it isn't glamourous, but sensible. Get rid of Surman for anyone who plays! How far can you stretch? If you fancy you could chop Brown or that could wait.

Only have 0.4 in the bank, so Tiote is probably the best option in that bracket.
Brown will probably go soon, but I like to have 2 frees so will just stick with 1 transfer (Surman) this week.
        Thanks for the reply mate

Your trippin...they'll chuck it about for a bit but i doubt Jol plays conservative anymore...especially on the road. Also remember, once a manager has seen top speed of their ride they are much more prone (players as well...much to their detriment as well) to air it out. A clean sheet ain't happenin. People (me included) will look past Bobby Zigital to their detriment.

I'm tired of hearing that too, and when he plays they'll be claiming that somebody on here told them he wasn't playing. I'm keeping Simpson and Enrique on bench behind Murphy. Have Ade in my starting line-up. Can't really do much better, in case Harry wants Newcastle preparing for Defoe as lone striker all week.

I want players who are good for the next 5 GWs. Fixtures for many of the obvious choices are poor hence my uncertainty. Clearly it's gonna be a compromise so which of these options fit this requirement best?

    1) Def: Baines, Lescott, Jose Enrique, Gibbs, Santos, Jones, R Taylor

    2) Mid: Mata, Young, Arteta, Ramsey, Sinclair, Anderson, Petrov, Moses

    3) Fwd: Rooney, Aguero, RVP, Suarez, Dzeko, Agbonlahor, Sturridge

Fixtures really nothing else. I gotta sell one of my big players at some point to upgrade De Laet and/or Gabbidon. Silva, RVP and Suarez will all outscore him over the next few GWs IMO.

Not sure i'll be selling him anyway. May just follow Ajay's advice and et rid of de Laet for a different Norwich defender. One who at least plays! Then i could possibly upgrade Gabbidon to Enrique next week although the problem of how to riase the money will still remain 🙁

    Vorm (given)
    Bosingwa, Kompany, Enrique (simpson, gabbidon)
    Silva, Young, Taraabt (dyer, tiote)
    Aguero, Adebayor, RVP

have 0.4 in the bank, I don't really want to trade out Ageuro because I know i'll want him back sooner or later, except i have two of my three strikers injured and one of my bench defenders injured and not doing anything.
Also I can't decide if i should trade out Taraabt for ramsey/petrov/sinclair. Help needed!

Give tarrabt one last chance. If you take out aguero for sturridge (who may rise by deadline) you could make up any money lost on getting aguero back in as aguero may fall in price and sturridge rises the same

Overall looks ok, but i would take teh risk and take out aguero for either sturridge or suarez or something as i have done, you can always get aguero back for RVP after man city & united match, by then you could have got the best out of RVP and get aguero back for him anyway.

Play dyer in replace of the doubtful adebayor, ade will only be out for this gameweek, and he could even make a cameo appearance this week itself although it looks unlikely.

People seem to think taarabt may have got some confidence back for scoring on international duty, but i would still get rid, just my biased opinion really as i dont think he's ready for premier league as yet, needs more time, petrov looks a great option, although id be persuaded to go ramsey myself to be honest. Hope that helps 🙂

I could manage this team, but it would cost me 12 points.

        Vorm (given)

Bosingwa, Kompany, Enrique (simpson, r taylor)

        Silva, Young, Ramsey (Tiote, Dyer)

        RVP, Rooney, Sturridge

Hiya lads, majorly appreciate your thoughts on this my team for gameweek/in general.

    Ruddy (Given)

Naylor - Jones - Enrique (Simpson, De Laet)

    Mata (v) - Young - Nasri - Meireles (Ferguson)

    Sturridge - RVP (c) - Suarez

I am definately getting rid of De Laet & Merieles as of next week onwards.

    However, my question is:

Do i leave Jones & Enrique in and bench Simpson, or would you play Simpson over 1 of Jones or Enrique? Just i feel uncomfortable if both sides score i'm down straight away.

Any help would be great 🙂

alot of chat about simpson more likely to keep out blunt spurs, than enrique vs manU

often i'll play oposing defenders but i guess in a derby it's not such a good idea. i'd play jones and simpson

haha! i know, i have no idea why ive stayed away from silva and nani, must be mad, but ive always liked the look of it without them to be honest, good to be different etc lol, however hoping 'different' brings in points, which in recent weeks its managed to 🙂

yeah good shout over jones i think, may be worth it, simpson is against a slightly deflated spurs too as they will be without ade (hopefully). Hmmm, i think by deadline i'll be tempted to jsut keep jones and enrique in on the hope that one of them may get an assist as they push up firther than simpson. kind of answered my own thoughts there lol but thanks anyways mate 🙂

With Jones and Enrique you are going for attacking returns. They have both shown that they can assist quite a bit and I predict a massive scoreline so it could work.

Cheers lads, yeah they do offer attacking potential, think i'll keep em as it is then. there's also a good shout above with talk of simpson keeping out a spurs. have s sneaky feeling they'll conceed though, even if they keep em out for 80 mins, newcastle seem to have developed a habit of letting late, very late goals in. yah i'll keep it as jones and enrique.

Dig a bit deeper... AVB has repeatedly backed him in public and has backed this up with playing him whenever not injured or suspended, I understand. He's not an outsider to the first XI by any means. Chelsea's CL campaign probably helps him because I generally see they prefer to use established players like Torres and Drogba for those matches.
