→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

A good haul of Fantasy points might put a smile on your face but doesn’t always put pounds in your pocket. That certainly rang true last weekend when it came to the “Flutter”. Bossing the left-flanks, both Leighton Baines and Garath Bale were Scout Picks that paid dividends for Fantasy managers, but failed to deliver on our chosen Flutter markets.

A brand new set of fixtures will hopefully spark a return to betting form. Spicing up the wagers this week are spot-kick specialist Yakubu, in-form poacher Emmanual Adebayor, free-kick aficionado Ryan Taylor and human battering ram Micah Richards. Read on to find out how we spend our £10 stake in this week’s Fantasy Flutter.

Tottenham are swaggering right now, there’s even a whisper of ‘title contenders’ in the air. And why not? Loanee Emmanual Adebayor has taken over the goalscoring baton while Rafael Van der Vaart nursed his hamstring, netting 4 goals in two games, leaving Spurs just a couple of neat and tidy performances away from challenging the topspot. Although Bolton will try their best to repel the vibrant Spurs attack, Adebayor to score 2 or more goals at 13/5, looks good for the first £2.50 of our money.

Last week’s flutter selection neglected the prospect of defensive returns, so this time around a clean sheet market is tempting us. Roberto Mancini will be looking to come away from the Norwich clash with a shutout, and if Micah Richards and co can keep out the likes of Anthony Pilkington and Steve Morison out, and steer clear of the ref’s notebook, Paddy will pay out at 11/10. This might seem a touch too short for some, but a £5 stake shows confidence City this weekend.

Newcastle’s Ryan Taylor has netted a couple of long-range efforts this season, and will be looking to lend his right-foot to the Magpies attack when Chelsea pay a visit. Taylor to score outside of the box has been priced at 8/1 by Paddy, and is a risk worth taking for a £1 of our money.

Blackburn haven’t featured much in the Flutter, as their worst start to a Premier League season plods on. While picking up points has been a problem, goals haven’t been proving too much of an issue of late, however, and Yakubu looks a potential bargain over a forthcoming run of favourable fixtures. Netting twice against Wigan, he is fancied to make a mark against Swansea at Ewood this weekend, with Paddy posting 5/2 for him to score and Blackburn to go on to win. We’ll take them up on that for another quid.

Our final wager is a cheeky 50 pence on a long-shot anytime double. Watchlist Wanderer Jamie O’Hara and Blackburn’s Morten Gamst Pederson were both in our thinking when it came to the Scout Picks this weekend; Paddy are offering both to net at 18/1. That may be too far fetched for most to open their wallets for, but we’re going to back our hunch with the last of our stake money.

Curse of the Old Boy!

Paddy’s money back special this weekend takes us to Villa Park and surrounds the fortunes of former home favourite, Ashley Young. If the United man comes back to haunt his former club by scoring a goal at anytime, Paddy will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

I think that will be fairly close to the real thing.

The only scoreline I think is wrong is the Liverpool Foolham one. I think it'll be something like 0-2.

Can't see a tired Fulham team scoring twice against Liverpool.

Can't see Everton CS either and Norwich will score against Man City (they'll score against everyone this season).

Hope Rooney is in amongst the goals in that one!

    Vorm (Westwood)
Richards, Enrique, McCauley (Simpson, De Laet(ugh))
    Silva, Bale, Moses, Sinclair (Dyer)
    Adebayor(vc), Aguero (c), RVP

it will make you no good jumping on bandwagons after the player have scored for 2 weeks, look at fixtures and see which teams are expected to get a run.
sinclair is a good pic for FK and pens but i dnt see dyer alongside him scoring unless they win by 3-4 goals (probably not in this decade)
while moses, well i think it was said enough and if ur not convinced look at the fixtures

    Bale or VDV?

I'm chasing a big lead (75pts) in my mini league, and both my rival and I have VDV and Ade. Have already subbed in OHara for Drenthe, bringing in Bale would be a 4pt hit.

    My current team -

    Westwood (Kenny)
    Simpson, PJones, Richards (NTaylor, Delaet)
    VDV, OHara, Silva, Walters (BJohnson)
    RVP, Ade, Aguero

Team is almost identical to rivals except for Richards, Jones, OHara and Aguero.

Is the 4pt hit worth it?

No, leave team as is. Its a good un. Aguero could be a huge differential for you this week!

You won't claw back 75 points in one GW so no need to go mad here.

Look at getting in Vorm for Kenny or Westwood asap though.

All those who think Stoke are going to be a run-over & considering getting in Baines/Drenthe.

    I doubt it.

barely 2-3 players from their starting line-up started in the europa game. They looked pretty solid at the back last week & everton aren't a goal-scoring team either. Plus Stoke's physical presence might just be a bit too much for everton.

    I predict a 1-1 draw.

captain choices have been really bad for me from 3 weeks... To catch the leader in my league. i choose captains like vdv, nani , suarez ... all of them got 2 points. BTW i had persie in my team. Just to have some difference i choose everyone else other than persie. I have fallen behind by 100 points now... Looking for differential is not worth it i guess.. Playing safe is better... I have choosen van persie as captain now... I also have vdv and adebayor and suarez... Feeling like picking suarez.. I am so drunk...... help me choose my captain lol

Rvp is on unreal form with the exception of last week. id expect that to continue so he probably is the safest option. no point looking for differentials as captain when there is a very good chance the most obvious choice will score the most that week.

You are trying to find differentials too early in the season, we are only 1/3rd of the way through. Pick who you genuinely think is best whether others have them or not.

what chances of either Aguero or RVP not starting? Man City have a big midweek CL game; any chance Arsenal would think they could get by Wigan without starting RVP?

CL qualification isn't even on their hands, A win for Napoli and thery're effectively out, even if they beat Bayern 30 nil. I think the league is still important to them and they probably won't take chances against a good Norwich side, so he'll most probably field a pretty good squad, with an eye for both games. Aguero starts imo. But again, Mancini likes to keep everyone guessing.

No way Arsenal would leave RVP out of the starting lineup, beats all logic. Unless he gets injured just before the match. My opinion 🙂

I'm still not convinced by these Baines = virtual midfielder arguments. He's got the same number of points as Ramires, at a higher price, and the Chelsea man is hardly a must-own. And that's including the fact that Baines is meant to benefit from clean sheets.

I am still considering him for the double gw though, since Everton hardly have a feast of options.

1 assist all season and his 2 goals from pens. Kind of debunks the "Baines is good for assists" myth this season, don't it?

Luke Young has outscored him so far and he's not even on QPR set pieces.

Baines imo is grossly overpriced this season. Richards, Vermaelen and Raylor are far better (and cheaper) options in my opinion.

I really want Vermaelen, but only if/when Mertesacker is dropped.
I'm pretty sure Verm and Koscielny have played CB together twice this season, both for clean sheets.
That said, with Jenkinson/Sagna out I think Mertesacker will keep playing 🙁

I did actually have him from gw2-5, when he scored ok, but he unbalanced my team horribly.

I was burnt by resisting him for too long last season though, so shall be watching him closely in case his stats start to improve.

I have Simpson as an option as well, but feel Cabaye would be a better hedge against Chelsea scoring. If Sunderland is in disarray Ward could get a cleany and have potential for more?
