After a quiet opening two months, it took a brace at home to Huddersfield to rocket Tammy Abraham – in the short term, at least – to the top of our search for a budget third striker.
Though the Chelsea loanee is clearly full of potential, his supporting cast at Swansea did little to foster any sense of optimism over the early Gameweeks.
Indeed, across their first seven matches, the Welsh outfit had registered a paltry three goals, drawing blanks on five occasions.
On the back of a 13-point performance, however, Abraham has jumped to the forefront of our thoughts, and in so doing has already gained over 156,000 new owners.
Have those of us jumping on the bandwagon identified a canny investment opportunity? Or is Swansea’s centre-forward merely the latest in a cut-priced line of false dawns up front?
In this week’s Technical Area we’ll be running through Abraham’s – and Swansea’s – key underlying numbers across the season and breaking down their forthcoming fixtures to better assess his potential moving forward.
