Gregor’s RMT

Gunn/McCarthy, Fabianski
VVD, Bailly, Mendy, Cook, Wan-Bissaka
Salah, Silva, Mahrez, Mkhitaryan, Ward
Firmino, Zaha, Mitrovic.

Goalkeepers
Two great value looking goalkeepers for £9m with perfect home and away rotation and good home fixtures to start the season. If there’s doubt over the Southampton number one though I may get Foster and bring Cedric in as my £4.5m defender.

Defenders
I’ve gone with van Dijk over Robertson due to slight concern around Robertson missing the odd game around Champions League ties, if Liverpool get a tough group.

Bailly seems assured to start the season and no reason to think he won’t then keep his place. £5.5m to cover United’s defence looks too good to miss.

Mendy looks underpriced due to previous injury problems, cheaper than Walker and should be good for assists.

What I like about Cook is that he’s very bench-able as you don’t expect much from a Bournemouth defender, but he has the potential to produce when called upon and also offers perfect home and away rotation with Wan-Bissaka, who looks a no brainer for bench fodder at £4m – nice fixtures too.

Midfielders
Salah, the obvious GW1 captain, and I (hope) expect Liverpool to make a strong start before the fixtures stiffen.

Mahrez is nice and rested and Silva looks a great price for a guy seemingly nailed on before the family problems, and City’s fixtures from GW’s 2-7 make a City triple up seem entirely sensible.

Mkhitaryan could be an absolute steal at £7m. Tough opening fixtures but just can’t ignore a player of this quality at that price though.

Cardiff’s Danny Ward as £4.5m bench fodder, subject to change; he has a goal threat which is unusual at this price point, and easy to bench as you would expect Cardiff to struggle.

Forwards
Bobby Firmino up top to further tap into the Liverpool attack, with strong early fixtures and a nice price. I’d be surprised if he’s not fit to start GW1.

Zaha, the Palace talisman with pre-season form and strong early fixtures. I do worry he might move though so also got my eye on Tosun for this slot.

Mitrovic just edges out Austin for my third striker slot for now due to surety of starts, funded by trading Sane for Mahrez. Have always liked Mitrovic and should continue to thrive at Fulham now he’s the main man.

Conclusion

Thoughts? Suggestions? Where have I gone wrong, and where have I gone right? What do you suggest I change?

    Hi all

a quick RMT would be appreciated!

    Ederson
    Bailly Mendy Trippier TAA
    Sane Mane Mhki
    Arnie Firmino Auba

    Fabiaknski Wilshere Kennedy Wan-Biss

IMO Trippier and Spurs should be avoided for the first month
Firmino a doubt for first week
Wilshere isn’t likely to provide much return
Unless you’re planning on rotating Ederson with Fabianski then downgrade Fab

Good advice, so based on that -

Possibly Trippier for Luiz. Bobby I'll look into, but who is a starting keeper for 4 mil?

        1. Bocaginge

Luiz is a good shout, Chelsea likely to be solid as a rock under Sarri.
You won’t likely get a starting 4mil keeper but with Ederson you’re likely to play him every week so you don’t need the sub keeper for rotation.

Nothing technically wrong with that team, although Neves is a weak option. 7/10

Any other changes I'd make would just turn it into my team. They're all reasonable options, although Mkhi isn't fully nailed.

Chelsea aren't likely to be solid as a rock under Sarri. He's an attacking manager and implementing an entirely new playstyle/system. They will concede a lot more than under Conte.

    Cedric | Tarkowski | Alexander-Arnold | Wan-Bissaka | (6.0)
    Salah | Eriksen | Jota | Cairney | Richarlison

    RMT

    Fabianski/Ryan
    Bellerin-Shaw-Robertson
    Salah-Mane-Hazard-Hudson Odoi-Jota
    Zaha-Aubameyang

    Bench: Kamara-Wan-Bissaka-Peltier

Rotating keepers around fixtures, Jota can be swapped for Richarlison Lamela, Sessegnon, Fabregas, Barkley, Mata etc based on early form and the last pre season games.

Rudiger isn't nailed and no longer playing in a team that will keep many clean sheets, so I really don't see why you'd pick him over Robertson. Hudson-Odoi will maybe get you 1 point and cost 4.3 by GW 4. Your bench is also weak for a team filled with rotation risks like Bellerin, Shaw, and CHO. Kamara is a fine option if the rest of your bench is ok. Overall I think that team will not do well.

      1. Bocaginge
        • 9 Years

Who has Rudiger signed for? I thought he was still at Chelsea

He is at Chelsea. They won't keep as many clean sheets any more under Sarri, as he is an attacking manager and entirely changing a playstyle and system for the team.

      2. jameslamerton
        • 6 Years
        6 years, 3 months ago

Thanks, food for thought. The squad's a gamble but I think Hudson Odoi is going to break in, he's been man of the match in every preseason game. I'll keep the risky line up for game one and play the wildcard if half the team are benched!

Have I gone too cheap on the bench? (4.0, 4.0, 4.5)

    McCarthy
    Robertson | Mendy | Daniels
    Salah | Sane | Richarlison | Jota
    Aubameyang | Arnatovic | Zaha

    Fabianski | Wan-Bissaka | Peltier | Stephens

1.5m in the bank for Sane > Sterling

Also if Heaton is ok probably going to go with him + 4.0 rather than Fab & McCarthy.

It's generally a fine team except for Daniels. He's not nailed and a poor option anyway. Heaton is a good shout.

Sanchez is a gamble for me at his price with Mou as a manager. Silva is unsexy but could well be the best city mid to own. Luiz, Shaw aren't nailed. Other than that, reasonable team, although that bench is weak.

    Morning guys,

I'm pretty happy with this salah-less team. Will probably look at a WC around the international break.

What do you lot think of this?

    Foster/Fab

    Robbo Bailly Ward (WB Schelotto)

    KDB Sanchez Mkhi Eriksen (Hudson-Odoi)

    Auba King Tosun

Main concern is if KDB doesn't look like he will start GW1 - is there any update on him?

    Cheers in advance

Kdb may not start the first few gws, and Hudson-Odoi will depreciate in value and do nothing else. I possibly don't rate Sanchez as an FPL option either. Other than that it's an ok team, depending on which Ward that is in your defence.

Salah is perma-captain so I don’t see value in, or need for Kun, Auba etc.
Will prob get some Arsenal in GW3.
Will avoid Utd and Chelsea until I see form and stable team sheets.

unsure on Jag, he is ageing and can see him spending a lot of time on bench this season. Alexis I feel is over priced so id personally swap him in a few weeks for a cheaper Mid ( Eriksen possibly or KDB if make 1 keeper a 4m) and get Robbo/VVD in defence.
this is my opinion other than that the team looks ok.

    Ederson (Steke)
    Luiz, Robbo, Lowton (AVB,Perlier)
    Salah, Mane, Richarlison, Pedro (Cairney)
    Aguero, Arnie, Zaha

    Still thinking about:
    1) Fab/Foster rotation, then Luiz>Mendy
    2) Downgrading Lowton to 2x4,5 rotation (probably Tomkins and Cedric), but there will be no chance for fast Milivojevic move
    3) Mane > Eriksen (both KDB placeholders)
    4) Downgrading Zaha/Arnie to Kamara and improve def (4-4-2 then)

to be completely blunt, 8 years experience and your flirting with a defense like that!? Isn't Daniels competing for a spot at LB now, surely Malone and Bednarek are highly unlikely to be consistently getting games as well. Not a fan of Sanchez at that price tag, i think a downgrade there would help that defense and better balance your team

      1. GoonerSteve
        • 14 Years

Me neither re Sanchez but feel he could do well having missed the World Cup and with full pre season, not to mention Utd have a lot of world cup players Out so more onus on him early to get goals.

Defence is often weak in my teams, especially at this stage when defensive stability if teams is yet to be seen. I’m not convinced premium defenders are worth it and would likely upgrade as season progresses instead. Who would you have? Mendy, Cedric and Daniels seem relatively good shouts to me and will start most weeks.

Kabasele W-B and Peltier offer great rotating budget defenders with fixtures will be your easiest solution without having to find funds. De Gea to Ederson saves you 0.5 and Mendy to Bailly/Luiz will save you a further 0.5. How you chose to spend that extra mil is up to you. Just something to consider

hard question, id proberly say second one as Sane is rotation risk with City and id say Salah and Rich as pretty nailed when Fit.

Daniels could easily be dropped at GW4 so maybe Wan Bis for Daniels as he is look a favourable 4m

    Hi Guys,

    Appreciate your comments/suggestions.

    Ederson (Speroni)
    TAA, Cedric, Bailly (Wan-B, Bednarek)
    Salah, Sane, Sessegnon, Richarlison (Stephens)
    Auba, Zaha, Firmino

I know bench is weak. I'm thinking about switching Auba to Kun, Sessegon to Pedro. Also wondering about DLuiz instead of Bailly, will see after Community Shield game.

    Thanks!

Is Bednarek nailed? don't quiet see the point in Cedric alongside with him. Watford offer a good rotation with palace defence if you switched cedric out for one of their assets. Peltier should be playing when his concussion effects ware off if you need a 4.0 who will play.
If your on the fence on sessegnon a Firminho downgrade to Arnie/King will allow a Mahrez/Mane
Pretty balanced and ready to go, Chalobah is hinted at starting and he likes a shot way more than fellow 4.5 Stephens

Thanks! Good comment about Cedric playing alsonside Bednarek.
I was also thinking of downgrading Firmino and upgrading mid a little bit.
        Thanks!

is Bednarek nailed? I'd prefer to try get sessegnon in rather than risk the start with him myself

Not sure with Bednarek, I think he will play. Hughes was pleased with him when he started to play.

Updated for any positive or negative feedback/rating please.

Moved now to 3-4-3 but gives other options. May play Hudson-Odoi over Mkhitaryan if looks like will play v Newcastle. Seems sensible to stay away from City midfield until KDB back-perhaps week 3 for Mane- although if Pedro /Mahrez are firing in Charity Shield tone or both may come in for Mkhitaryan/Mane.

    Ederson (Hamer)
    Robertson DLuiz Bailly (Cedric Wan-Bissaka)
    Salah Mane Mkhitaryan Richarlison (Hudson-Odoi)
    Aguero Arnautovic King

Very close to my team, I’ve got Davies and Peltier(vs Bailly and Cedric), and Ward as midfielder...

      So like it.

Mkhitaryan to DSilva by downgrading DLuiz/Bailly worth it?

New to this, but please RMT
    Patricio/fabianski
    tomkins-davies-bailly-van dijk
    salah - Sanchez - silva
    Arnie - Zaha - Lacazette

    bench: Patricio/fabianski - wan bissaka - Hughes - schneiderlin

Sanchez a risk but i like his form and can easily be switched. more unsure on expensive defence and lacazette.
    thanks guys!

Hey Guys - here goes nothing

    Pickford - Fabri
Trippier, VVD, Mendy, Jonny, Wan Bissaka
    Salah, Sane, Mkhi, Jota, Kennedy
    Firmino, Zaha, Mitrovic

Gone with Pickford for now in the hopes that Chelsea lose Cortious and pick him/Schmeichel up

    Thoughts?

i think you have to many risky players in your team, take some out for nailed safe starters for the start of the season, then see how they perform

Been Stuck on this bunch for a while

    Alisson
    Luiz Baily Kabasele
    Salah Mane Mahrez Richarlison
    Aguero Arnie King

    (4.0 W-B Peltier Chalobah)

Kabasele offers good rotation with W-B and Peltier at the back so happy moving them between subs. Hoping for a consistent bunch with just City assets always being a worry for consistently starting but i think mahrez can nail himself in the XI. Tempted to go with Laca up front with his current preseason form looking likely to be the starting CF for the Gunners. wouln't know where to throw that 1.5 tho

I like it. I am only not sure about Mahrez and rotation risk with Pep. Maybe downgrading Mahrez do Miky and upgrade King?

    Good Afternoon all

could I please get a RMT

    Schmeichel (Button)
Robertson, Bailey, Lowton, Tomkins, Wan bisk
    Mane, Eriksen, Richarlison, Sane, Stephens
    Firmino, King, Lacazette

Sane will become KDB when he is back

1m ITB( 0.5M set aside for KDB and 0.5 spare)

    thank you all in advanced

Are those 0.5 going towards a GK if Schmeichel stays at Leicester?

Structure wise I think you lack a standout captain option (or two). While the likes of Mané, Firmino, Sané, Eriksen and Lacazette are potentially good picks who might even be value picks in their price range, I wouldn't be comfortable picking a captain from that lot week in and week out.

There is very little players better as a captaincy options than Mane at the moment IMO. He is about to bring KDB, so I would no be concerned about that issue too much. Having taht approach, only Salah is reasonable captain rights now.

thank you, yes was thinking Mane as Captain at start and hope he does better than last season when every time I captained he either got sent off or had a mare!
im sure by end of the Window ill have tweaked it slightly again with teams buying new players

Thank you Ephurion, I originally had Courtois when first picked team but with him then being link with Real im still in Limbo with who to go for.

KDB was gonna be my main captain when he is back but I agree it does miss an explosive captain choice. one option could be either Erikson/Mane to Pogba and get Auba

        thanks again

    Patricio / Fabiański
    Mendy / Robertson / Baily / Mee / AWB
    Alexis / Mane / Mahrez / Richarlison / Ward
    Aubameyang / Zaha / King

I think too much value in defence, I would try to downgrade one of them and maybe then improve King to Arnie?

        • 8 Years

I considered going 4.5 def oraz even another 4.0 but to be honest I could not see many appealing options.
I thought about Arnie, but I'm afraid od his fixtures. Most likely would be ditched after 2, 3 weeks, but I could be wrong.

Looks good, hopefully the CS will give you a clearer idea of Mahrez and Mendy ( both could be amazing picks or rotated to hell). if Zaha goes to Chelsea as CF then he could become an exciting prospect

Thank you Chockky. I am unsure to play mendy GW1 anyway and Mahrez most likely will become KDB when he is available, just like you.

I would change Mee to 4.5/4.0 def (someone form Crystal Palace for example). I will also downgrade Mendy to DLuiz or Bailly and it total you gain 1mln to for example change Patricio to 5.5 GK - maybe Ederson to have City coverage (most sure option looking at Pep's rotation).
