Introduction to the article type
With so many RMTs on site, we’re going to start collecting them in these RMT Community Articles.
To start, site regular and moderator Gregor has given us his team, and some explanations of his choices. Feel free to comment on his team.
This is also a place for you to post your team, and please respond to a few others while you’re at it!
Mods have been alerted, and will spend some time on these pages responding.
Let’s try to keep the main article pages free from RMTs!
Gregor’s RMT
Gunn/McCarthy, Fabianski
VVD, Bailly, Mendy, Cook, Wan-Bissaka
Salah, Silva, Mahrez, Mkhitaryan, Ward
Firmino, Zaha, Mitrovic.
Goalkeepers
Two great value looking goalkeepers for ÂŁ9m with perfect home and away rotation and good home fixtures to start the season. If thereâs doubt over the Southampton number one though I may get Foster and bring Cedric in as my ÂŁ4.5m defender.
Defenders
I’ve gone with van Dijk over Robertson due to slight concern around Robertson missing the odd game around Champions League ties, if Liverpool get a tough group.
Bailly seems assured to start the season and no reason to think he wonât then keep his place. ÂŁ5.5m to cover Unitedâs defence looks too good to miss.
Mendy looks underpriced due to previous injury problems, cheaper than Walker and should be good for assists.
What I like about Cook is that heâs very bench-able as you donât expect much from a Bournemouth defender, but he has the potential to produce when called upon and also offers perfect home and away rotation with Wan-Bissaka, who looks a no brainer for bench fodder at ÂŁ4m – nice fixtures too.
MidfieldersÂ
Salah, the obvious GW1 captain, and I (hope) expect Liverpool to make a strong start before the fixtures stiffen.
Mahrez is nice and rested and Silva looks a great price for a guy seemingly nailed on before the family problems, and Cityâs fixtures from GWâs 2-7 make a City triple up seem entirely sensible.
Mkhitaryan could be an absolute steal at ÂŁ7m. Tough opening fixtures but just canât ignore a player of this quality at that price though.
Cardiffâs Danny Ward as ÂŁ4.5m bench fodder, subject to change; he has a goal threat which is unusual at this price point, and easy to bench as you would expect Cardiff to struggle.
Forwards
Bobby Firmino up top to further tap into the Liverpool attack, with strong early fixtures and a nice price. Iâd be surprised if heâs not fit to start GW1.
Zaha, the Palace talisman with pre-season form and strong early fixtures. I do worry he might move though so also got my eye on Tosun for this slot.
Mitrovic just edges out Austin for my third striker slot for now due to surety of starts, funded by trading Sane for Mahrez. Have always liked Mitrovic and should continue to thrive at Fulham now heâs the main man.
Conclusion
Thoughts? Suggestions? Where have I gone wrong, and where have I gone right? What do you suggest I change?
