With no Premier League action this weekend, all eyes will surely be focused on Parmiter’s School, Watford, WD25 0UU this afternoon as members of the Fantasy Football Scout community and their guests come together to participate in the second FFScout Charity Cup, taking football offline and onto the grass (or rather, 3G) in aid of a very worthy cause.
Last February, we raised over £1,000 towards the Melanoma Research Foundation. This time, we will be raising money for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) which works to prevent male suicide (the biggest killer of under 45-year-old men in the UK).
If you would like to donate, please follow this link to our Just Giving page.
Despite around a dozen withdrawals in the build-up to the big event (with players no doubt fit for league action next weekend!), we are still expecting over 40 players for a light-hearted, mixed-level mini-tournament followed by drinks at the local inn.
Further details can be found at the Just Giving link above and late players or spectators are very welcome, as are contributions towards CALM’s work. For those who can’t make it, we will try to post updates on this page throughout the day.
A round-up of last February’s event can be found at this link, which includes a slideshow and videos produced by our very own TopMarx and Rupert the Horse.
CALM’s helpline – 0800 58 58 58 – and webchat are open daily 5pm-midnight. It’s free, anonymous and confidential.
For more information about CALM and the impact that your donation will have, please read here.
