Is Richarlison or Gylfi Sigurdsson better FPL value at £8.0m?

The release of the Fantasy Premier League price list has seen Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson both priced up as £8.0m midfielders.

Everton sit top of our Season Ticker for the first ten Gameweeks of the season and are the only Premier League side to avoid a ‘big six’ club in their opening half-dozen matches, so interest in the Toffees’ Fantasy assets will be keen.

Both Richarlison and Sigurdsson scored 13 top-flight goals last season and recorded their best-ever FPL points hauls.

Given that the Everton midfield duo can’t be separated by price, we will run a direct statistical comparison in the Members’ article below to weigh up the pros and cons of each asset.

As well as the usual goal threat and creativity comparisons, we’ll be assessing their record against ‘lesser’ sides (given Everton’s favourable run at the start of 2019/20) using our new Flat-Track Bully tool.

Has anyone got a player in their team they've yet to see in any of the initial drafts doing the rounds, that they'd care to share?

    I have Deeney, and Pogba.

McGoldrick the Villa keeper? I have him with Ederson currently.

Gomez one to watch pre-season, could be a bargain.

If he starts 90% of pre-season, I can't see a better value defender to go into the season with, his versatility to play right back also helps.

Bournemouth's new left back. Seems intriguing. Love a good punt haha. Will see in preseason.
Daniel James looks great from what I've seen online. The kind of player United need. Again, preseason will tell.

Watched plenty of Kelly as a Bristol City fan. Silky player looked brilliant for us but just prone to the odd bit of silliness like any young lad, probably overconfident. Centre half long term I would expect.

Ritchie (5.5m) - is in my team over coleman if the new manager plays him on the wing and keeps all set pieces and penalties

Yarmolenko (6m) - in my team when pre season confirms he is nailed. Have a feeling he will take over penalty duties now fornals comes in for noble’s spot. He would take siggy’s place in my team and would allow me to do KDB > Sterling.

Not seen too many jorginho’s either, should be on penalties for Chelsea so offers a great bench option along with Dendoncker for fellow 3 man midfields like mine

      1. HamezMace
        • 10 Years

I'm interested in Jorginho too...although I did opt for Tom Cairney at Fulham last year at 5m, because of penalties, and that didn't work out too well.

I'm interested to see if Lampard (assuming he takes over) sticks with Kante and Jorginho as that seemed to be one of the biggest fan frustrations under Sarri

        1. Ask Yourself
          • 8 Years

Aya Jorginho is in a slightly better team. Popular opinion is he is one of their best midfielders. I imagine a double pivot with Kante and him (being given license to roam forward similar to fabregas) with Barkley/RLC ahead of them. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a fabregas type season out of him as long as Abraham can do a better job than the shocking frauds that preceded him

Gross is interesting, as I've said somewhere else on here, finding the pick of the 5.5 - 6.5m mids is tricky business, but get it right early on could be golden.

I've seen on here a few people say about Auba going, but I haven't read anything official, anywhere. Do you have any links to this story?...you're right of course, if Lacazette is the only striker at Arsenal next year, then he has to be strongly considered

The story is Arsenal want Zaha but can only afford him if they sell someone and Auba is the most likely candidate due to his age.

      Triple Bournemouth attack.

With keepers I either go 4.5m x 2, or 6m/4m set and forget.
I never even look at the 5, 5.5m keepers as a general rule.

Gomez is the key to triple Liverpool defence.

I have King currently. Wilson I'm not sure I want to stretch to 8m for, I also think Fraser and Brooks are slightly over priced.

But it's bold, I like it.

Afternoon all, great to be back and tinkering for the next month. Any thoughts on this very early first draft appreciated. Concerned about the lack of Sterling but will be monitoring KDB pre season for fitness. Bench is absolute dross too which is probably an issue but I would more than likely hit an early wildcard once some form is established.

    Fabianski
TAA Robbo Digne Maguire (if at City)
    Zaha Siggy KDB Salah

like it, one of the few where I see Aguero (even though he's 21% owned, probably high auto-pick teams)

If you're going to spend 6.0 on Allison why not save 0.5 by switching Heaton to a 4.0?

Your bench and having both kante and long in the starting XI is asking for trouble. I think you need to downgrade somewhere to sort this out. Maybe if Heaton doesn't leave Burnley then just get him and another 4.5 (or maybe even a 4.0) to allow upgrading either kante or long?

    Which combo do you prefer?

    A) Zaha, Fraser
    B) Siggy, Maddison
    C) Zaha, Maddison
    D) Siggy, Zaha

FWIW I will already have Digne, King, (Kelly) from those teams

This (7.0-8.0 mids) definitely feels like a great sweet spot (on paper) for start of this season

I appreciate your reply mate for what it's worth. The reason why I was holding off from Salah/Mane is the AFCON duties. I will see if they take part in pre-season but https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1145281806108889088 made me look elsewhere for now. Cheers anyway

I don't follow the Zaha pick. I get the fixtures but If he moves it will be less about him like it is at Palace, plus i think his penalties will be reduced when VAR looks at them. Nkeitah is fodder. Nuff said.
Arnie can be hit and miss. Dendoncker has Europa. Not a bad team i just don't really like those picks.

            Yeah that's fair

Personally i would prefer that as it gives a little more balance to the team but like i said, you have a good team already, especially if you are happy to play 1 up front.

Glenn Murray isn’t a name that’s been thrown into too many team sheets. Is he still best XI? Ings, Calvert-Lewin, Gray, Benteke worth a look?

Best 6.0 bracket player in the midfield?
    Pereya, Ward-Prowse, McNeil, Gudmon, Townsend

For me, 6.0 is the classic question - is there really anything here worth 1.5m (the upgrade from fodder)?

If not, it's downgrade to junk or find 0.5m elsewhere.

Are there any playing 4.5m strikers? Lots of people going with 2 up front and a 4.5m benched striker. But if they aren't gonna play then your bench is a bit smelly and puts you at risk when injuries hit.

Was considering getting Jota but then I realised that, like Delofeu, we can expect a serious point regression this season now that he's been reclassified as a forward. Less points per goal and no clean sheet points now that he's not a midfielder. Probably better going with King and Wood at that price point, I reckon.

Not FPL, but Vardy's taste in music is exactly as bad as you would expect.
Mind you, was he ever going to rock up with a tasteful mix of early sixties Coltrane, 70s Krautrock and a dabble of shoegaze? 🙂
