Last season we were told Mark would return, yet we are still to see anything of him. Any official word of when he will return, if ever?

Mark quit as a Director of the company behind FFS last year. He is still the majority owner though. From what I understand he is taking a back seat re content / interviews etc. but is still involved in running FFS. Most of the FFS staff say they speak to him every week.

I was promised an article / interview in the off season with Mark letting us know what he's up to these days.

      So much for that.

Morning all, thoughts on next moves:

    A) play Trossard (BHA) but risk 1 point cameo appearance
    B) play Dendocker (MNU)
    C) bring in McGinn

Is there any article about possible game rules change in 19/20 season around here? Or maybe there were no changes? I haven't noticed any price changes, though... Seems like there's something new going on in transfer market...

        I have

Moura was a 1 wk punt - don’t like him for city despite many saying he’ll have a better game running at their defence. Don’t fancy him to start GW3

Martial proven he plays he gets points -Utd have no choice but to play him and at the foremost attack. He didn’t look great against city but he always looks a bit like that

I’m planning on saving a FT this week and then doing Moura and Wilson to Kane and Dendonker the following week (hoping these players all stick at their current prices). Good move? I flip flopped all pre season between these two variations and feel like I made the wrong choice.

        1. MTPockets

            ???

            - Bonus points are a key part of the game and add to the strategy

            - new teams using chips is irrelevant and pointless - in the rules that precludes them from winning the weekly / monthly prizes and they are no threat to overall rank over the season (people making loads of teams to do this can make us all pretend our ranks are better too - top 500k out of 5m teams sounds much better than top 500k out of 2m teams after all)

If a new team couldn’t play a chip in their first week, I think that would be a massive improvement.

Because people wouldn’t set up one week teams. They’d have to set up a team then wait a week which is beyond what their tiny little minds are capable of.

Do we really have 5m , 6m, 7m people playing FPL or is it or the additional teams that just get abandoned after 1 week? I’m sure FPL don’t appreciate having to update so many zombie teams - they get criticised enough with a 30min update outage.

I sort of agree but it doesn’t have any negative impact on you / us.

FPL I suspect love it and hence don’t stop it. The larger the number of ‘players’ they can claim they have in the game even if they are all dead teams the better from a publicity and marketing perspective

Everyone has the same opportunity to play their chips whenever they want.
If someone TC Sterling in GW1 and nailed 60 points, good for them.
If you play TC in a double GW and get 3 points then you need to rethink your strategy :p

Remember people - the ‘variance’ (ie short term luck element) is what makes this game fun

If there was no variance and everyone was just awarded the expected points return from their players each week then all the excitement/ drama would be lost.

The fact that ‘casuals’ can beat seasoned pros over periods and that people can use chips randomly and bonus no points are hard to predict adds an element of variance and hence fun.

Embrace the variance! (Although it’s obviously hard to do when you £11m striker blanks and your mates £5m striker who never normally plays gets a hattrick)

This. Stick with the plan and await more information on form and lineups. One week is too small of a sample size to know who to transfer in instead of him.

And I also think he is capable of getting in the points against City.

I plan to change robbo to laporte to get 0.5 in GW 3. Is it too risky without liv def? I feel digne-awb-laporte can cover the def and liv def looks not as good as prev year.

Digne - AWB - Laporte can't cover any of the multitude of attacking points from TAA, Robbo or VVD.

After 1 week and 1 goal conceded? Against a team that for some reason didn't mind how many they conceded as long they could score themselves. Wow, what a leaky defence.

Well McGinn did score last week so.....

I still think Robinson (but I bet most say McGinn). Robinson is OOP as a striker and seems to be their best player (does have some competition for his place though)

Not too sure on either of them - would need to go down to a 7.5 max if I got Son in for Trossard in GW3. Might have a look at Haller after his GW2.

Could be huge to double up on City attack from GW3 but I fear Jesus will eat into Aguero's minutes and at 12.0 that is too much to pay if he is getting benched or hauled off at 65 mins.

          Morning,

a lot of talk on here about Man Utd assets going forward which is something definitely to consider but is any one considering a Man City double/treble up in midfield/attack? Their fixtures after Spurs look Juicy pretty much till November.

Appreciate Sterling/Salah/Augero will be difficult to accommodate.

I’ve got the Sterling/ KDB double up currently

At the moment there are so many interesting/ exciting midfield options it’s hard to know whether the double up is worth it

There is too much rotation in my opinion to double or triple up on city attack.
Your safest bet is Raheem and KDB but there will definitely be rotation at some point.
