Lundstram starts as Zaha returns to the Palace line-up

Premier League football returns to Bramall Lane on Sunday as Sheffield United take on Crystal Palace. Kick-off is at 14:00 BST.

Both clubs drew in Gameweek 1, with the Blades snatching a late equaliser against Bournemouth and Roy Hodgson’s side being held by ten-man Everton at Selhurst Park.

Chris Wilder has named an unchanged starting XI from the team that drew 1-1 at the Vitality Stadium, so last week’s goalscorer Billy Sharp (£6.0m) is only among the substitutes.

That also means budget FPL defender John Lundstram (£4.0m) again starts ‘out of position’ in central midfield.

The Blades will line up in a 3-5-2 shape, with David McGoldrick and FPL midfielder Callum Robinson (both £5.5m) leading the line for the hosts.

Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) makes his first start of 2019/20 for the Eagles, joining Christian Benteke (£6.0m) up front.

Jordan Ayew (£5.0m) is the man to make way.

That is the only alteration that Roy Hodgson has made from Gameweek 1, although Jeffrey Schlupp (£5.5m) has recovered from injury to take his place among the substitutes.

Budget FPL defender Martin Kelly (£4.0m) gets his second start of the campaign at centre-half.

Palace were much better on the road than at Selhurst Park last season and indeed had the sixth-best away record in the top flight.

Only three Premier League clubs scored more goals than the Eagles on their travels (32) in 2018/19.

Fifteen of Sheffield United’s 21 clean sheets last season came in a remarkable second half of the campaign in which they conceded only 14 goals in 23 matches.

The Blades recorded a shut-out in 12 of their 23 home fixtures.

Sheffield United XI (3-5-2): Henderson, Baldock, O’Connell, Egan, Basham, Fleck, Lundstram, Norwood, Stevens, Robinson, McGoldrick.

Crystal Palace XI (4-4-2): Guaita, Ward, Kelly, Dann, Van Aanholt, Milivojevic, McArthur, Townsend, Meyer, Benteke, Zaha.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 2

I rolled a TF for the first time in GW1 ever. Now I’ve got 2FT’s and I haven’t a scooby what to do.

My squad is sadly set out for 1 week on 1 week off.

Dendonker vs Burnley next week looks ok to leave.

    Need a united player

No Lundstram or Pukki but fixtures aren’t great.

    Lost value in Deulefou

And KWP vs Newcastle would be silly to move out.

    Henderson - Woodman

    Kane - King - Pukki

That's reasonable. Still wouldn't WC, unless you see those injury flags turn red. I'd probably dump Robinson, then reassess Rico and Jota. The rest are solid or at least have favorable fixtures upcoming.

Nope. I see Mount. He goes on mazy runs and then loses the ball. He puts in average set pieces into the box. He gets bullied off the ball. Does he have potential? Yes. But he is nowhere ready now, especially for a team that wants to play in the CL / get into the Top 4.

For now Barkley is the better PL player.

Guys what do you think about playing with only one striker, like that:

    Adrian (LIV)
Arnold (LIV) - Zinchenko (MCI) - Digne (EVE) - Mina (EVE)
Sterling (MCI) - De Bruyne (MCI) - Salah (LIV) - Martial (MUN) - Trossard (BHA)
    Pukki (NOR)

Otherwise, like that, with still 2 defensive player from Liverpool and 2 from Everton and with Kane instead of Salah:

    Pickford (EVE)
Arnold (LIV) - Van Dijk (LIV) - Zinchenko (MCI) - Mina (EVE)
Sterling (MCI) - De Bruyne (MCI) - Martial (MUN) - Trossard (BHA)
    Pukki (NOR) - Kane (TOT)

As good as Ceballos is, he got 3 goals & 2 assists in 34 games last season at Real, and 2 goals in 22 games the season before.

I watched him play in the Under 21 Euros and he absolutely bossed it. Proper player but not sure if he will be a good FPL asset. If he plays the Ozil role he could get points but the risk is he will be in the deep play maker for arguments sake say like Jorginho

Then you are scraping the bottom of the barrel with the likes of Townsend, Almiron, Ward-Prowse and a couple others. Snodgrass may be worth keep an eye on if he can cement a place in the strating xi

Exactly, home game against a mediocre attack is when you play him. I selected him over Kelly so not much of a decision!

Maybe having him in as 5th defender is casual. But actually playing him as a 3rd def this GW is far from. Where lies the line between playing the fixtures and being lucky?

Casuals don’t even know who Lundstram is

All who copied recommended starter teams, none who knew who he actually was

Fair point, but wouldn't these be the same people who would have him at the end of their bench. You can't really call the ones who started him in their XI casual right?

All this talk of getting Lundstram in. Have you seen their next 5 matches?

He's 4m. He starts. Sometimes he does stuff.
