Potter tinkers again as Murray and Duffy benched for Brighton

Brighton manager Graham Potter continues to prove himself as unpredictable as far as tactics and team selections are concerned.

Once again, he has rolled out a completely different system to last time out as the Seagulls prepare for an away match at Newcastle.

Potter has lined up his troops in a 4-3-1-2 system lead by Neal Maupay (£6.0m) and budget midfielder Steven Alzate (£4.5m).

Unafraid of keeping his senior players on their toes, the manager has also put Glenn Murray (£5.8m) and Shane Duffy (£5.0m) on the bench.

That makes for a centre-back partnership of Lewis Dunk (£4.6m) and Adam Webster (£4.4m), while Dan Burn (£4.5m) retains his left-back berth of a week ago after playing in the middle for the first four matches of the season.

Meanwhile, Martín Montoya (£4.5m) has recovered from tonsilitis and reclaims his place at right-back and Aaron Mooy (£4.9m) gets his first start in midfield.

By contrast, Newcastle go with their tried and tested 5-3-2 formation, led by Joelinton (£5.9m) and Miguel Almirón (£5.9m).

However, there is unlikely to massive FPL interest in this Saturday evening game as the most popular player on show will be on the Brighton bench.

David Button (£4.0m) remains in 25% of teams and is also the most fashionable shot-stopper among managers inside the top 10,000 as well.

Dunk is the most popular playing asset, currently in 11% of teams, while no Newcastle player is owned by more than Isaac Hayden‘s (£4.5m) 6.5%.

Newcastle XI: Dúbravka; Willems, Dummett, Lascelles, Schär, Manquillo; Atsu, Shelvey, Hayden; Almirón, Joelinton.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Burn, Webster, Dunk, Montoya; Mooy, Stephens, Pröpper; Groß; Alzate, Maupay.

I’m literally a 1 man team this season (KDB) - as in he is the only person who ever scores me any points

I went through that game thinking KDB was my VC for Sterling. Such joy.

Quite the horror when I logged in to check my points with content and realise it’s on Pukki.

    I suck. Meh.

Lund 3rd on my bench absolutely raging

I’ve benched both his double digit hauls and Robinson’s 15 pointer - I’d be top 100k easy (c40 points swing) -
But no ... here I am at 1m OR despite having KDB captain

Lundstram coming third off my bench for 45 with Auber (C), VvD, Robbo and Mount to play

I feel like that's pretty fair considering no Aguero

Is it unreasonable to begrudge sterling (c) kdb (vc)?

Feel like actual kdb captainers took something of a risk and got much reduced reward.

      Complain complain

        Sort of

Sterling captainers did know that historically if he doesn’t start he gets 0 minutes - also if he had started who knows how many he would have got

So I think it actually feels more unfair than it really is

As long as they knew that first I'm fine with that :).

Feeling extra salty because I don't have sub coming on (mount/greenwood) for my sterling (not captain) and everyone else has lundy or Rico coming in

Best GW this year so far in terms of points. Will finally break out of the 4 million bracket. But left thinking what could have been had Kun taken even half of his chances.

43, green arrow, with TAA, Matip, Salah (c) Haller + Greenwood or Lundstram to go.

Was worried not having Aguero at the start of that, relieved now.

Not feeling sorry from them but Kun captainers were very unlucky there.

Seems half the site have Sterling C, KDB VC and Lundstram 1st sub.

Some swings can be very cruel.
