What impact has the Europa League had on Wolves this season?

As expected, Wolves’ involvement in the Europa League has become a key Fantasy Premier League talking point this season.

A slow start to the 2019/20 campaign for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men had many of us blaming their gruelling schedule.

However, Wolves’ recent win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium forced many of us to reconsider the impact European football was having in the West Midlands.

We’ve gone over the first 10 Gameweeks of the season to assess exactly what effect Thursday matches are having on Wolves.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 campaign can access it in full.

What impact has the Europa League had on Wolves’ results?

Thoughts on the below - I've got 1FT and 4.1ITB

I want to ship out Otamendi out but not sure for who...

    Pope/Button
    Otamendi/Soy/Tomori/Lundstram/Kelly
    Sterling/Mane/Maddison/Mount/Yarmo
    Vardy/Abraham/Greenwood

Why the huge love for Connolly? He's got two assist Points, but neither was an actual assist (Pen and FK-assists.) Then you've got players coming back. I'd chosen Mousset over Connolly atleast. I know, 4.3M is a great price, but see bigger potential in Mousset/Ayeew

He doesn't need to start in order to get good fpl points. Surely more minutes help but he is the type of player that can have an impact against tired defences with his pace. He is in great form so it would be a bit harsh to bench him but it can easily happen.

    7. Brosstan
      • 9 Years

Connolly makes sense if you are going to play him, because hes so cheap he allows to go several big hitters. Makes no sense as 8th attacker, much rather get Greenwood and Pocket the change

I currently have both, but like the double up in attack from week 13 or 14 so will be losing one of them next week (99% Robbo). Also don't particularly want both vs City in Week 12.

If we avoid the E word, there's no other player I'd rather have in defence and over a season he's possibly the best value player in the whole of FPL. I don't have him currently but I have a plan to bring in him and Robbo either for, or after City.

Unquestionably, the biggest mistake people make I feel, is looking at the 2-4 previous games X player has had and if he hasn't returned they just ditch said player.

You need to have a strategy on the players you buy. Whether it is sticking to the "eye test" or statistics and then make decisions based on that.

A player like TAA passes the eye test and stats with ease for example. He is so involved in the play and creates as much chances as the big hitters in midfield. Just MADNESS to consider getting rid now, when they have this EXCELLENT fixture run coming up after the City game......

So torn between Abraham and Jiminez as a Wilson replacement.

The masses have Abraham so no doubt will be the popular choice on here but anyone want to convince me with better reasoning than ownership?

Arsenal and Villa up next for Jimenez who both look porous. It's the EL and Wolves general patchy form that is putting me off him.

I have Mount for some Chelsea coverage and Abraham has dried up of late and Bats is always nicking minutes off him.

Thoughts? (Vardy and Connoly are my other forwards)

If you don't trust Pep with Ota then gtg yes. Imo leave that decison as close to deadline as you can

    Got a problem.

    Pope (Button)
    TAA - Boly* - Soy - Lundstram - Rico
    Sterling - KdB - Mane - Mount - Cantwell*
    Abraham - Vardy - Wickham

    1FT 1.7m itb.

Clearly Cantwell and Boly have to go.

If want to get Martial in I should to gowngrade Boly to 3.9mil, which is not probably smart.

So probably Cantwell have to go first and forget Martial. Whos coming in? Too many good options.

    A) CHO (huge rotation risk and have already Mount and Abraham)
    B) Yarmolenko
    C) Tielemans
    D) Boly to 4.0 and get Martial for a hit.
    E) Someone else?

    Have to be C, right?

Is Abraham to Rashford worth a -4?
I know he's currently flagged but considering for the long term.

Martial could make a mockery of his current price if United find some good attacking form in those fixtures. Dilva not nailed.

Want to do the same but willing to keep Son for this week. One last chance. Still not convinced that Martial and Utd is the way to go.

Dilva has 8 first X1 and two sub appearances. He's the highest scoring mid price midfielder.

What more could you want, even the nailed players get a rest now and then.

Surely it's not a question of Martial OR Dilva

Then bad news for you mate. Pukki and Norwich train are off to championship. He could still score now and then but as I've said after first few games he is the new Mitrovic and people were saying that I am crazy. Sell him at first opportunity. Not worth it anymore.

Alright Christina, allow me to rephrase:

          Bench 1 out of Pukki (BHA)-A, Soy (CPL)-A, and Dunk,(Nor)- H

Bit stuck on this, want to get rid of Cantwell (4th Mid) but undecided:

    a) James
    b) Perez
    c) Save and next week move on Aubu + cantwell for something like Rashford and Maddison as an example.
