West Ham United have just come to the end of a run in which they faced seven of the current top 10 Premier League sides in succession.

Now their schedule looks altogether more appealing, with only trips to Arsenal and Manchester United showing up as blobs of red on our Season Ticker from Gameweeks 16-27.

Bowen v Antonio: West Ham's FPL attacking options compared 1

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) interest is chiefly focusing on Michail Antonio (£7.9m) and Jarrod Bowen (£6.4m), who are both among the top three most bought players in their positions ahead of Gameweek 16.

A lot of FPL managers already own Antonio, of course: his ownership sits at 38.8% overall and 48.6% in the top 10k.

Bowen is a veritable differential at 3.7% and 1.7% respectively but will now inevitably rise in popularity after his double-digit haul against Chelsea, and the West Ham ‘double-up’ will be favoured by many of us going forward.

But how do the two Hammers options stack up against one another, should it be an ‘either/or’ decision?

We’ll explore Antonio and Bowen’s appeal in the Premium Members article below.

FPL POINTS

AntonioBowen
Overall7171
Last four Gameweeks816
Last six Gameweeks1436
Last 12 Gameweeks3165

The pair have, rather neatly, exactly the same points tallies as one another.

Forty of Antonio’s 71 points came in the first three Gameweeks, however, and Bowen has scored over twice as many points (65 v 31) as his teammate since then.

ANTONIO v BOWEN: GOAL THREAT

Over the course of the season, Antonio betters Bowen for most attacking metrics – as seen below.

Above: Antonio v Bowen in Gameweeks 1-15

Discounting Antonio’s early-season purple patch, however, and it’s Bowen who mostly comes out on top over the last 12 Gameweeks. The midfielder has had over twice as many big chances (seven v three) in that period and is ahead on shots in the box (26 v 21), amongst other metrics.

Above: Antonio v Bowen in Gameweeks 4-15

Moves to be made here? I'm thinking of ditching Vardy & Alonso for Davies & Ronaldo before being priced out (-4 though)

    Sanchez (Steele)
Alonso / Cancelo / TAA (Livra / Johnson)
ESR / Jota / Son / Salah (allan)
    Dennis / Antonio / Vardy

Not this side of the New Year. If Spurs lose vs West Ham in the Carabao Cup QF they will have two free midweeks in early January to fit it in, if not, later in the year.

Pulled up after sprinting and held his thigh, went down and off immediately. Dyche presser needed for severity.

    DDG 3.9
    TAA Cancelo Rudi Dier Guehi

    CR7 Dennis Broja

    0.3 itb

Monitoring CR7 situation but have 0.3 left itb, any ideas how to use it or leave it as it is? (Feel like Rudi is more secure stater and after all he is only 4pts behind James overall so thats why wnt with him; also want Dennis more then King).

TAA Cancelo James B. White Livra

So now that we know Bernardo didn't travel for UCL match, how do we rate City mids for Christmas?

    For me it was
    1. Foden
    2. Bernardo
    3. Gundogan (already own him but want to double up).

Foden better stats but Bernardo will get more minutes I guess, so wonder if he should be the one to buy.

      4 years, 23 days ago

Bernardo probably starts the next 3, they're out of the Carabao Cup so can then rest till Boxing Day...

Lets see how the other two feature tomorrow but Bernardo will jump to the top of a lot of lists now. Clear indication from Pep of how important himself, Cancelo & Rodri are.

    2. JUNITED
      • 13 Years

      Bernardo
      Foden
      Gundogan

After Pep’s comment on BSilva, I think he is the most nailed on among those three, thus I put him the top of the list.

    3. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years

Remember before Watford Foden hadn't played for basically 2 weeks, so although he was nursing an injury in that time, he's not going to need rests too often. Plus he's young and Pep has said even when he's in pain he always wants to play and is pushing him to start him and that he has an edge over other squad players that don't have the same drive

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Yeah, Foden is very, very tempting, still with everyone back I'm pretty sure he gets less minutes than Bernardo.

Clearly I would prefer Bernardo&Foden double but already have Gundo, so torn between those 2

    2FT & 4.0ITB
    Ramsdale
    TAA - James - Rudiger - Cancelo
    Salah - Son - Raph
    Wilson - Toney - Dennis

    (Foster - Livra - Luiz - Brownhill)

    Thinking
Raph & Luiz > Bernardo & Mount/Bowen/ESR which should give me plenty of rotation & Pep/Tuchel roulette backup for Christmas period.

Anything I'm missing here or do I have more pressing matters to attend to?

RMT is so frustratingly slow to get with the programme.

Bernardo, a man who has missed just 19 mins in the last 12 games, and who has been given the UCL tie to put his feet up, is projected to play only 50/55 mins in each of the next 5 games.

It's not really useful if I just have to straight up ignore what the RMT app is saying.

Or Alonso to Tomiyasu, can you squeeze up to 4.6?

Haha, can you guess which 3 players are closest to a price rise? 🙂

If it helps, Bernardo won't travel to Leipzig, Utd are through in top spot so no need whatsoever for CR7 to play, and Tommy plays tonight so, in theory you could go early.

Ben White an alternative if you wait.

I also own Alonso and am confident that the points will come soon enough...

I might go early tonight. Bernardo makes sense, if Tomyiasu makes it through ill go early,

On Alonso, have a feeling James is enough chelsea cover at the back!

Yes to Alonso sale. See drop in clean sheets with him in team. Ronaldo remains a gamble.

      A) Kane and Normann to Antonio and bilva/bowen (money to upgrade elsewhere)
      B) Normann and toney to bowen and Dennis (can't afford Kane to ronaldo)
      C) Kane, normann, Toney to
      Ronaldo, bowen, broja (-4)

Anyone looking at Ollie Watkins from next gameweek?
His fixtures turn significantly and could be a decent differential

Pencilled him in for week 17 purchase to replace ASM.

I haven't had a striker return since GW9 (11 attempts!) so getting pretty desperate.

That would almost be as much of a win as him scoring well, yup it's that kind of season
