Today begs the question:
Why did Januzaj not get more starts this season?Open ControlsEvery game was a cup final, in the end Moyes didn't want to be relying on someone so young, the kid was unfairly asked to do alot early days in a few big games and results went the wrong way. No doubt he's going to be a quality player.
Open ControlsI distinctly recall Moyes starting Januzaj in the hole away to Chelsea, that's the opposite of what he needed.
IMO, he should have started a majority of the home games, the fans respond well to him which helps his confidence.
He'll finish the season with over 1600 minutes, but I would have liked to see him develop with closer to 2,000. You're right though, quality player through and through.Open ControlsYa, I agree, needed to be played in certain games, then again the whole season was a wash out and injuries forced Moyes hand a few times. The kid has too much pace and technique to be anything other than a succes, once he keeps learning he'll be an outstanding player.

Yaya will start tonight? Feck I need some points......
Open ControlsNight all, see ya tomorrow for the Kolarov explosion.
Open ControlsHi and bye RCA, see you soon.

Jafooli, just got here and saw your Rooney post last page. I agree with most of it, but who the hell would take him on at 300K a week?
What about Mata and Kagawa, where do they fit in with Giggs plans?Open ControlsGiggs plans?
Open ControlsNah agree ILF, I think he's going to be a real headache for Utd over the next few years.
Mata & Kagawa both great players in their own right but don't really suit Utd in current systems & styles.
If they don't bounce back next season, reckon they could be on for a few lean years....
ps not Utd fan btw......Open ControlsNot a fan either Jafooli, Kagawa is lost in the middle with everyone being hoofed in blindly from the wings and I don't see Mata standing for being bench fodder for long.
How long is Rooney's new contract btw? Any idea?Open ControlsThink he got another five years no? Or was it three?
Whoever comes in, would be great to seem them build the team around M & K rather than fat boy. But unfortunately he seems to have influence, or atleast his agent does.
New deal came with a say on transfers or something ridiculous like that. What a joke.Open ControlsHere we go, 5 and a half years. π―
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26287482
I think M & K will look for new clubs unless they get some assurance from the new manager.
That would be bonkers if it's right. Can't see it myself.Open ControlsNah, I'm sure that's true, made me cringe.
But Moyes needed Rooney on board, or so he thought he did, to get any traction.
In the end Rooney's agent played Moyes like a banjo. He'd have been better ditching fatty and going without him. Probably got more respect from the players. Problem when he failed, everyone would have said, cause to sold Pigwig.
But Moyes main error was replacing all the back room staff.Open Controls

Seven DGW's (which is meant to equal 14 games or 16 including captain), will end with nine at best, of which four are Sunderland defs (Mannone & Alonso).
Pathetic.Open ControlsI'm off to wait in eager anticipation of tonight's haul. π Taraa.
Open Controlslong may you run
Open Controls
Trying to work out the order of shame. Think it's something like this:
1. Rooney - DGW no show
2. Aguero - 27min limp off, followed by second game no show
3. Mata - 65min tepid display, followed by second game no show
4. Ramsey - No show
5. Azpil - No show
6. Chester - 42min limp off, followed by second game no show
Seem about right?Open ControlsSo I take it that game didn't quite go to everyone's plan? π
This DGW shall be remembered as the week of the Kolarov πOpen Controls61 with Yaya and Mannone to play... pretty decent on here I'd guess?
RVP captain was pleasant points to come near the end of the gameweek.Open ControlsA lot of people are blaming Gerrard for losing the title, but let's be realistic. It was just one goal. It's Rodgers' fault.
1 point against Chelsea would have been sufficient but instead he went with his all-out attack philosophy again against a manager he knew would park the bus. That lack of tactical flexibility will be found out in Europe on top of the threadbare squad if you ask me. Liverpool need a big summer and they may just yet lose their talisman striker.Open ControlsHe went with what has worked all season and what Liverpool do well and they were unlucky in that match frankly.
I actually can't believe Rodgers is copping criticism, in 2 seasons he has transformed Liverpool from laughing stock to genuine title contenders and barely spent anything to do it. If break my gran's arm to get him to manage spurs.Open ControlsAlso they weren't unlucky, they were outplayed and outmaneuvered.
Open ControlsThat's just nonsense. If Gerrard hadn't miscontrolled that pass it would've been 0-0.
Open Controlsthe match was going 100% according to Jose's plan lol..
Open ControlsYeah, he was playing for a 0-0 and hoping for one opportunity in the match. Same as against Atletico. Gerrard gave him that moment, Atletico did not. Rodgers was attacking knowing that Chelsea would hardly attack, trying to get their opportunity. He would've taken a 0-0 with the chance of a 1-0, but unfortunately an error from Gerrard thwarted that.
Open Controls
He went with an all out attack philosophy against a team he knew would park the bus.
WTF was he supposed to do, park the bus as well??
I can't understand why people are turning on him after the job he has done at Liverpool. Scandalous.Open ControlsLOL who is turning on him, relax. Who cares if he's had a great season, no one is disputing that..he did make a mistake.
..and YES park the bus, think about the season. 1 point and you win the title. Simple. At least he got to lose his way, right?Open ControlsAm I missing something, when did Liverpool need 1 pt for the title?
Open Controlsa draw at Chelsea would have put them 1 point clear of City if you took into account Liverpool and City both winning the rest of their games. the title would have been in their hands instead of in City's
Open ControlsWe needed 7 points from our last 3 games to guarantee the title. But as the Palace game showed, those games were far from won.
Open Controlsbefore Liverpool played Chelsea and City played Palace:
Liverpool - 35 games - 80 points
City - 34 games - 74 points
If Liverpool draws Chelsea and beats Palace and Newcastle, they end on 87 points. If City wins their 4 remaining games, they end on 86 points.
That's the whole reason that after having lost to Chelsea, everyone said that Liverpool's only realistic chance of winning the title was on goal difference because they didn't expect City to drop any points.
A draw at Chelsea and Liverpool was in the driving seat, they did not need 3 points.Open ControlsYep, had it in my mind that L'pool still needed the 3 wins. Oops.
Open Controls
I don't deny that he was more cavalier than he could or should have been. But to say he cost Liverpool the title is nonsense.
Open Controls
Skrtel owners what's the deal with him? keeping or getting rid?
I'm leaning towards keeping atmOpen ControlsA limit to how many transfers one takes on the final gw, won't be using any on defenders that's for sure.
Open Controls
Rooney likely to play at the weekend? How about Aguero? Trying to put out fires here π
Open ControlsAssume many in the same boat as my 0 pts from evra, mata, Rooney? Disastrous, may cost me top 10k finish. Need a Sunderland CS to salvage the wreckage
Open ControlsMata - 65 + 0 mins
Rooney - 0 + 0 mins
Jones - 90 + 21 mins
Chester - 41 + 0 mins
Azpi - 0 mins
Ramsey - 0 mins
Ki - 0 + 0 mins
7 players for a combined total of 4 points
2 players coming off my bench for a massive total of 2 points
37(-4) with Aguero(c) OUT & Yaya only to play..
what a fecking DGW.. cannot field 11 players this GW with out minimum 3 hits πOpen Controlsto sure why people complain about minutes from their Dgw players:
Aguero (c) - 26 minutes 10 points
Rvp - 55 minutes 9 points
On the other hand complete crap points from:
Amalfitano 77 minutes plus a whole game to come
AJ 57 minutes plus 59 to come
Kompany - probably full two games to comeOpen ControlsJust another end of year challenge.
Youngsters blooded with regulars to bench.
Fantasy managers long term approaches forced by dwindling GWs.
Usually wait until injured show some form before bringing them back but not with 1 or 2 weeks to go.Open ControlsAs far as Liverpool draw, Rodgers had one unused substitution, Aggers or Toure, to shut Crystal Palace down and did not do so.
Open ControlsLife is like a box of chocolates.
Assuming Coutinho and Moses score a brace each and Liverpool still keep a CS after the match, people will start calling Rodgers a genius tactician.
If things don't work out as it really was, people call Rodgers a failed tactician.
Sometimes you don't know what you gonna get...Open ControlsDid you just suggest kolo toure as a shut down specialist?
All of Liverpool fan are lolling their ass offOpen Controls
This needs to be said, RVP looked fantastic today and to me this was his best performance of the season even if it was for just 27 minutes. For some reason he finally found the motivation and pace that had eluded him all season and looked incredibly lively down the wings and in the attacking third. His one touch passing on multiple occasions with Januzaj was remarkable and led to a couple scoring chances for him and other United attackers. But the most impressive thing I saw out of the dutchman was his effort of which we hadn't seen since last season, van Persie looked motivated and like the kind of world beater that we became accustomed to seeing over the years. There was the chance from which he cut in from the left flank and fired on net but it didn't have enough power to go in, there was the chance where he linked up with Kagawa on the right culminating in a fantastic chance that he pulled just wide and then of course the goal was a composed finish after a good block on his initial attempt. In summation van Persie thoroughly impressed me today and had he been match fit and been able to start and/or play 60 minutes I dont think its out of reach that he could have gotten a hat trick today with the way he was playing. This is the RVP I remember and this is the RVP I wouldn't mind paying 12 million for next season
Open ControlsUntil he gets injured again. π
Open ControlsThat's still a risk I would take every time
Open ControlsHmm I will wait and see but could be decent option. Suarez I will probably still get at 14m. Remy if he's at Arsenal. Costa if he's at Chelsea. Gonna be interesting.
Open ControlsI agree with you that Suarez is a must have if he stays (which I think he will) and then I will probably go with Remy or Costa as well purely based on who has the superior fixtures to start but then a revitalized, cheaper RVP under a man he loves to play for and hopefully with more creative and better midfield pieces behind him going forward I think will be a great option.
Open Controls
I agree, he will be a good option next season especially if operating under his dutch manager.
Open ControlsLous van Gaal seems a lock to become the next manager and RVP has a great track record when playing for him and has said to the media before, that he loves playing in van Gaal's system. It is inevitable that Man United will sign some players this summer and if they can get a good link-up/box-to-box midfielder for even more help in supplying RVP then he could be lethal in front of goal next campaign.
Open Controls
Under Van Gaal, RVP will be the first striker into my team. I don't expect Suarez to be as prolific next season when the club is distracted by European football, something they haven't had to deal with. Not that he won't still be good, just not this automatic points-getter. Also he could be at Real.
Open ControlsI completely agree though I still think Suarez should be in most teams. As I stated above, RVP loves playing for van Gaal and will definitely be more motivated next season to return to form. The world cup will also be a huge boost for his confidence I think because I reckon he could dominate for the Oranje in Brasil. Good point about no Europe too, that's a definite positive to add!
Open ControlsNot entirely sure about that because van Gaal plays a 4-3-3 which will most likely see Mata back on the wing but he should receive the ball there more often with more opportunities due to van Gaal's "pass heavy" tactics and that should definitely boost his assist numbers
Open ControlsI would imagine he'd play at the point of the middle 3
.......x
x - x - x - x
...x - x
......xOpen ControlsSounds about right to me! I'm definitely going to closely monitor the Dutch formations at the world cup this summer just to get more of a sense of how they might play. As an Oranje supporter I of course followed the qualification matches but it's harder to get a feel for the play style with all the rotation of players that is done in that time period
Open Controls
Suarez didn't do too badly last season.
Open ControlsEuropa is a lot different than UCL but point taken π
Open Controls
Love the way he played last night, looks like rumour of dutch manager arrival next season has boosted his confidence
I read somewhere that since Van will take job for 1-2 years only, he is planning to bring Robben to Man U too, I wonder what a force Persie will be with Mata and Robben behind
I would prefer to have Persie over Suarez in that case plus No Europa duties for himOpen Controlshttps://vine.co/v/M6Xm3KrD5mq π π
Open ControlsRobben/Depay and Mata on the wings with van Persie sandwiched in between are almost the totally ideal selections for van Gaal's style of play
Open Controls
Also worth noting that United (as well as a bunch of other teams in the prem) are preparing an offer for Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven. Depay is absolutely fantastic at a mere twenty years of age, oozing potential and has had a great season in the Eredivisie this season and it is rumored that ManU will be trying to replace Ashley Young with him if he chooses to head to the red devils. Regardless of what side he goes he will be pretty cheap in FPL if he does end up leaving for the Premier League and once he nails down a spot, his potential for attacking returns will see him get a place in my team as soon as I see him getting consistent minutes with whatever club he is at. Of course, if he does end up going to Man United that can only mean another reason in favor of van Persie next season.
Open ControlsAnd surely Rooney's value will drop, not only because of his drop off in dominance every other season but also because of the way van Gaal has handled the RVP-Huntelaar selections so I would expect a similar situation
Open Controls
Kaboul, sitting on -3 on my field... Thanks mate.
But but surely as his red card was in the 21st min when in was 0-0 he shouldn't have got a -1 for 2 goals conceded?
Give me back my 1 pt!Open ControlsNot gonna lie, this gameweek really has annoyed me!
I've been chasing all season to take the top spot, I was just a few points behind him coming into this gameweek. I had 7 DGW players, whilst he only had De Gea (but AJ's coming in for Eto'o.)
I thought... Boom! I'm going to over take him.
I'm not gonna go on and on about my players not playing. But he had Gerrard, Sturridge and Suarez (c) I had none. Completely killed me off.
So now, it's my; Nasri, Zabaleta and Wickham to his AJ.
But I'm going to need 4 or 5 goals, assists or clean sheets from my guys, whilst AJ blanks, in order to be roughly the same as him.
Sorry! Rant over!!!Open Controls+ triple billions.
The brave have not been rewarded. I think I ended up with 9 players. Shocking stuff πΏOpen ControlsAnd the worse thing is, all the players I got rid of or didn't play like Adrian did good. And the players like Ramsey and Mata who I brought in for a hit did awful for me.
