Mondogoal Arrives At Fantasy Football Scout

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’re teaming up with Mondogoal, a new daily and weekly Fantasy Football game, for the 2014/15 season.

Mondogoal arrives as a new player on the scene, backed by two of the Premier League’s elite – Man City and Liverpool – and delivers a new experience, allowing Fantasy Managers to compete for free or for cash prizes across a range of games in any given Gameweek.

The game not only covers the Premier League; Mondogoal support both the Champions League and Europa League and run contests for all the major top flight leagues – Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Getting involved is simple – you register an account, find a contest to join and then go about selecting your starting XI.

The basic principles will be familiar, although Mondogoal has its own scoring system which introduces new factors into play when considering your lineup. Points are awarded for completed passes, defenders benefit from interceptions gathered, while the propensity to draw and commit fouls is also key.

Each week we’ll be presenting you with our assessment of the top targets on offer ahead of each set of Premier League fixtures. Throughout the season, Mondogoal will be hosting Fantasy Football Scout contests with prize pots on offer for our visitors.

A full strategy guide, discussing the finer points of the Mondogoal scoring system and assessing how this will shape our tactics, will be published later this week.

Take two! 😉 Here's my whistle-stop guide to two big issues.

1. Double-up on the Chelsea defence (JT & Gaz) because....

Without Matic: 0.90 goals conceded per game
With Matic: 0.47 goals conceded per game
With Matic vs big 7: 0 goals conceded in 5 games

2. Get Dzeko over Jovetic because.....

Last season vs the big 7, City scored an average of 3.08 goals per game.
In the equivalent of 22 career games against the big 7, Dzeko has 14 goals and 7 assists.

So all pre-season I've had the following setup in defence, although it's frequently changed in terms of personnel:

4.5/4.5
5.5/5.0/4.5/4.5/4.0

I've just convinced myself that I need two 5.5 defenders (currently on Evans and Lovren) which means downgrading one of my 4.5 defenders to another 4.0. Settled on Wisdom but who to choose as my other 4.0???

Bruce not nailed on
Hutton nailed but awful fixtures after GW3
Targett not nailed and already have Yosh
Upson injured and awful fixtures

Is Bartley a viable option or am I missing someone???

Going mad. Each time I downgrade my defence to get some more power up, everything looks like shit.

I think I need to make a list of players I can live without for the first couple of GWs - and then choose my big hitters by elemination.

So far:

Tottenham players
City players
Arsenal defenders
Liverpool defenders
Giroud
Sanchez

...and then I'm really unsure about wheter to go with or without Liverpool players in mid/attack.

A possible solution to the Stoke uncertainty regarding defenders. For Stoke, have Chambers instead of designated Stoke player for first 3 GWs as the Stoke defender would not be playing GW 2 and 3 anyway if using H&A rotation. Hopefully for GW4, defensive situation is certain to bring (hopefully 4.5m) Stoke defender in.

    Chambers would play GW1 only. He is essentially playing the part of the Stoke defender so Chambers would not be played in GW2 or 3. If rotated with Swansea, Naylor would be played instead of Chambers

  my problem with kane is that spurs seem to be playing 1 up front, in order for him to get any playing time, i'm guessing spurs need to be winning by 3 goals with 20 minutes to go. . . . just not worth it :-/ however good striker, if 1 of the other 2 get injured

Surely Azpi at LB was a defensive move as Mourinho didn't rate Cole anymore.

Now Luis has signed, and especially against weaker teams, why wouldn't he want an attacking, overlapping left-footed LB?
