Our Friday regular arrives a little later than usual today, as we analyse the PlayON player price list ahead of tomorrow’s 10.45am deadline. Below we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON is this week re-introducing tackles, interceptions and clearances to its scoring matrix. It is also reducing the points for clean sheets to 3 per minute played so more weight is put on individual player performance rather than team performance – view the revised scoring matrix here

PlayON is also running a Free Entry, £500 Winner Takes All game this week – which you can enter here.

Goalkeeper – Ben Foster
The stopper looks crucial to West Brom’s chances at home to a Newcastle side that have won their last four in all competitions. Having kept a clean sheet away to Leicester last week, Foster will be looking to defy the in-form Magpies and deliver a fifth clean sheet of the campaign – available for only 6.1m, the Baggies number one, who was the highest scoring keeper in PlayON last weekend, looks an excellent budget enabler. West Ham’s Adrian (6.9m) is another cut-price contender to consider. Granted, the Hammers have been far from convincing at the back and managed a single shut-out this season but bearing in mind visitors Villa have scored once in the last six and are missing the suspended Christian Benteke, Big Sam’s side could be in line to deliver the defensive returns.

Defender – Gael Clichy
The Frenchman is set to continue at left-back for City after Aleksandar Kolarov was ruled out for at least a month with a calf complaint. After starting the last three, Clichy bagged the assist for last week’s winner against Man Utd and, at a price of just 7.5m, he represents a cheap route into the champions defence for their trip to QPR. Having conceded just five times this term, and only once at home, Southampton’s defence is on the radar as Leicester roll up to St Mary’s. Whilst Toby Alderweireld doesn’t offer the attacking threat of his defensive team-mates, at a mere 6.8m he looks excellent value against a Foxes side that have failed to score in the last three.

Midfielder – Nacer Chadli
We call upon the Tottenham midfielder for the second time in three Gameweeks due to his very reasonable price tag. Chadli netted his fifth league goal of the season last weekend, yet whilst team-mates Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela are priced at 10.8m apiece, the Belgian sets you back just 9.0m at home to a Stoke side that have shipped six in the last three on their travels. For this week’s essential midfield pick, we return to Southampton. Dusan Tadic (10.2m) has produced a goal and six assists in five home appearances for Ronald Koeman’s side and the Serbian will fancy his chances against a Leicester side with a single clean sheet all season.

Forward – Diafra Sakho
After missing last week’s draw against Stoke with a shoulder problem, the West Ham forward looks set to return in time for a very favourable home encounter against Aston Villa. Sakho has scored seven times in eight appearances since arriving at Upton Park and, at a lowly 8.0m in PlayON this week, looks an absolute steal against a defence that’s conceded at least twice in each of their last six. Sakho’s acquisition also helps to enable this week’s essential striker, Sergio Aguero. At 15.0m, the City forward may be the most expensive player in the game but up against a QPR side that has conceded more goals than any other in the Premier League, it’s difficult to see him not bringing home the points.

    Courtois
    Clyne Wisdom Chambers
    ADM Tadic Fab Sanchez
    Pelle Aguero Welbeck
    Mcarthy Boyd Moore Wilson

Is this team ready to go? not a clue on who to skipper

    FF Fix predicted changes, currently:

    Tonight:
Up - Downing, Pelle, Jags, Enner V, Sakho, Berty, Baines, Kun, Chambers, Tadic
Down - Welbz, Cisse, Falcao, Dzeko, Mannone, Bavies, Naismith

    Tmrw:
Up - Oscar, Fonte, Chadli, Alexis
Down - Ulloa, Vardy, Silva, Mata, Lovren, Schurrle, Gayle, Santi, CCole, SDavis

Obviously very much subject to change, but loads going on! 😯 How things have changed.. A lot of value changes with high ownership players there.

Not currently. It's all based on current movement though, so I'd expect them to slip in (maybe tomorrow) once transfers speed up this evening.

Sterling.. -35%... moving at -1% per hour (so I'd say not, but check again later)
ADM.. -87.5%... moving at -0.17% per hour (so closer, but moving slow. A chance tonight, though)

Usually you get to this point of the week and people are no longer looking at last week's scores and more at this week's fixtures, so I don't like your chances.

                  We'll see.

It's more that people see Sanchez at the top of the points list and decide they need him.

ADM to Sanchez is the easiest way to do so.

I'm 0,5 short of Baines. I can do Coleman by downgrading Duff to Yun. Only way to get Baines is to change Lloris or dump one of ASM, Sanchez, Costa or Kun

fair comment, but surely Coleman has the upside to make it worth the price difference?

I do ideally want a defender for around Clyne's price in a couple of GWs. I was gonna get Rafa, think that's off the table

Out of curiousity, why are you doing it tonight, rather than during the international break?

Just get through this GW and you can use FFF to get the risers. Plus, any injuries etc are covered.

Cos I've already taken an 8 point hit (earlier in the week - only price I've missed is Dummett up 0.1)

So if you've taken a -8, what else is left to need a WC?

Fair play. And you get the -8 back. Plenty of wagons to jump on right now.

Yep, Sanchez and Baines were the main reasons (and Sakho to lesser extent - good value)

It's great BUT I seriously think you should just go with Costa this weekend over Pelle. That way, you can use the FT elsewhere during the break, and in any given game Costa has as much chance as Pelle of scoring big.

      Krul,
      Baines, Clyne, Wisdom,
      Sigurdsson, Fabregas, Di Maria, Downing,
      Costa, Aguero, Pelle.

Subs: Mannone, Boyd, Chambers, N. Taylor.

Good to go? Or start Boyd/Chambers over one of my starting XI?

        Welbeck>Sakho

Looks like Sakho is rising, Welbeck is falling.
Got 1 FT but would prefer to save it for the international break. I don't think Welbeck's goal/assist potential is THAT low either.

Currently got the captaincy on Pelle but is it wrong to overlook Sanchez? He has 5 goals in his last 3 league games and Swansea are hardly Bayern Munich.

My rival will most definalely captain Sanchez and he can easily get a goal. Thoughts?

          Indeed he was.

          Pity he declined so badly.

I'm a united fan by the way.

Injury and lack of confidence thereafter, truly great goalscorer in his prime though.

I'm sure Scholesy will show Stevie Me his Premier League medal collection if he asks nicely.

            Scholes was a complete legend.

My favourite united player. And the best English player in the last 20 years.

Swansea have managed to keep clean sheets at home against Burnly, West Brom and Leicester. Lost against Southampton and drew 2-2 with Newcastle.

Is their defence really too good to not consider Sanchez©, the best player in the league on current form?

Thats my dilema. Sanchez is good enough to get a haul I just like the look of Pelle at home to Leicester.

Depends on who else you have. I think Sanchez is a good choice. Torn between him and Aguero.
